  1. congrats!! Same thing happened to me this weekend. it's a fantastic feeling, 9 months out and wow!
  2. i live in woburn and work in waltham. i've missed the last 2 due to the horrific traffic around 128/rt 2 but i'll try again tonight! topic looks interesting, artificial sweeteners.
  3. the hospital i used is having their monthly one tonight i know. https://www.emersonhospital.org/MedServicesAndCenters/Centers/Weight/Support.aspx as for a doc probably depends where your living in the area.
  4. i'm at 42 now and pushing 40'. its really hard to believe i was a 54 pushing god knows what 8 months ago. just surreal
  5. i was sleeved in oct and i had a hialatal hernia and when i awoke was told they repaired another. recovery was fine, i don't think you have to worry. i was told i didn't have to lift anything heavy for a few months though.

  7. Good luck with your surgery! i got sleeved in oct. first few days aren't fun but it's nothing major. you will enjoy the energy your about to get!
  8. Please dont chicken out! First few days arent exactly fun but well worth it! Good luck!
  9. 36 or 38 would be fine for me. i don't remember last time i was at that, probably when i played sports. was as high as 54/56 so this is all house money at this point (44 now)
  10. i use to be a big steak person but since the sleeve i just can't seem to eat much of it. i use to hate ham and now i like it. i find sliced deli ham easier to digest, same with turkey.
  11. i'm from ma. had mine done at emerson in concord in october. lost 100 pounds+ so far. so far been the best thing i ever did. no complications and i feel great!
  12. Down 110 pds since surgery. Have tons of energy. So far an amazing decision wish id done it years ago
  13. 38, was 430 or so at surgery date oct 1. Down to 350 right now. Sticking to the script and it's amazing how the weight drops off if you follow this thing. sleeping great blood tests all good. I've heard hair falls out but i keep mine near bald anyhow so haven't really noticed. Got a lot more energy these days, i wake up full of vigor and work out much better than before.
  14. i took ten days off work. but i work in a cube. it's really up to how quick you heal. i was lucky and was bouncing around a few days after. but i hear others take much longer. also depends what else is being fixed in your surgery.
  15. I got sleeved oct 1. 27 days in and the changes i'm really starting to notice. down over 40 pds it appears. Clothes are fitting well. actually wearing pants and shirt that havent fit in 2 years at work today. I have lots more energy and i walk a lot. the past week or 2 sleeping has gotten so much better. I didnt realize how bad i use to sleep. I keep oversleeping my alarm everyday so i've had to setup a 2nd alarm. I only seem to crave bad foods when i am watching sports on tv..Football i notice is a nonstop pizza/beer/KFC/wendy's commercial.
  16. grilled cheese was my favorite food in the world. 5 guys, bars, home, work, it's all i ate sometimes. i'm avoiding it like the plague now. one thing you might want to try for your cheese fix is some nice cheese at the supermarket and some whtle weat crackers. slice a few pieces and then wait. your new small stomach should be full without the dangers of a grilled cheese. good luck
  17. ive heard similar about the waters. i ordered my isopure 0 carb Protein powders off amazon. so far dutch chocolate (had for lunch today) and Cookies n cream have been delicious. Just mix with Water. Going to order strawberry next. quick question for everyone, and it may sound silly. with halloween coming up is there any kind of candy we can eat?
  18. checking in..now 20 days since surgery and down over 30! wow! started some solids this weekend. i bought a salmon steak at whole foods and it took me hours just to eat half of it. just wow. already fitting different size jeans and shirts feeling better. it's been such a long time since i could say that. good luck to new sleevers this week, it's worth it so far!
  19. @genie i start phase 3 diet end of this week. so far i've been lucky i guess, shakes Jello and popsicles all going down well. i tried the broth but it was so tasteless i had to stop. kept wishing there was meat in that Soup.
  20. 12 days post op and feeling great. Found myself walking alone a lot since most of my friends (pre-op) would rather barhop or watch football on a sunday. Anyone notice that post-op your kind of on your own in a way around people you know? Since you cant really eat or drink junk like before? for those of you hating the taste of Protein shakes i found one that for me anyhow has been a godsend. nature's best Isopure zero carb. i have been drinking the Cookies n cream flavor. the bag smells like ice cream when you open it up what is nice is each 12 oz service is 50g of protein so 2 shakes a day max should sort you out. i got mine off amazon.com for like 17 bucks. GNC has them im told also. good luck everyone
  21. well day 10 since sleeve surgery and my weigh in today said i was 24pds down. wow..still on Protein diet.
  22. @genniexfresh/@trisey yah i am on fb and instagram. PM me and i'll shoot you my details. anyone tried the natures best Isopure Protein shakes? i just ordered some off amazon it's zero carb and Cookies n cream flavor. allegedly its suppose to be good for gastric. im planning on returning to work monday, anyone else jumping back into the office?
  23. @@trisey I did muscle milk before surg, its so so. i was also mixing eas with chocolate almond milk. not sure if i can do that until next stage so i've been just mixing eas with Water right now. also tried some chcolate Protein i got at target..target generic brand. it tastes so so.
  24. @@trisey i had mine done oct 1 also. also drinking eas chocolate. that and sugar free Jello. my weigh in isnt until friday but i did see the doctor about my blood pressure today. 100 over 80 wow!
  25. had surg oct 1. today i walked around the neighborhood and enjoyed the foliage. my protein shakes taste awful wheni mix the meds i got prescribed but oh well. about to try some chicken broth. had a lot of energy since surgery, today i also went and helped my nephew shoot pucks at the garage. i really dont feel much pain at all except for the feeling in my belly like i just did 2000 situps. i think thats due to a hernia repair more than the sleeve. still havent touched the oxy i got prescribed, prolly just throw it into the trash tomorrow. one thing i must admit that is weird is watching football and seeing all these commercials for pizza and kfc and stuff and being like "damn, i cant touch any of that" haha
