Thank G-d, all is well. My 6-week labs showed my Iron is pretty low which may help explain why I've been feeling so weak. Made some adjustments and going to recheck blood in 8 weeks. Other than that, doing well on Water intake, averaging about 60 grams of Protein, and about 450 calories per day. Monday will be 7 weeks. Down about 35 since surgery.Hey Unclechaz just left my six week also .. How are you doing?

Going for my 6-week appointment tomorrow. How time flies when you're having fun....I'm doing pretty well! I can't believe I'll be 3 weeks post op tomorrow, time Sure does fly by. I'm down to 222 lbs, right at 25 lbs. My clothes already feel so much better and I can wear my rings again, so there is my non-scale victory. How are you doing? How's your weight loss going?

Yes, it has been, although Zantac and ranitidine have all been recalled over the past few months. It has also been linked to stillbirth and birth defects. I'm actually an attorney filing these cases, mostly for Zantac causing cancer.Yes I take 150mg of ranitidine. Why do you ask? Is this known to be linked to miscarriage? I was actually perscribed it when I was pregnant with my son as I suffered with acid but that was much later in pregnancy

They are discontinued a couple of years ago.I have looked all over for these strips I keep hearing about and can’t find a single one. Are people just getting the product name wrong? All I have found are chewables and liquid gels. My surgery is tomorrow and I’m almost out of time to find them. I ended up getting the chewable kind for now, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to tolerate them fresh out of surgery.

Have you been using Zantac by any chance?Hi everyone.
I’m new here trying to do some research and see if anyone has experienced the same as me and can help. I’m over a year post op from gastric sleeve. My weight loss has slowed and I’m pretty stable where I am.
i have a two year old (pre surgery) and want to have another baby. I’ve got pregnant straight away from trying but keep Miscarrying around 5 weeks. I can’t seem to get past this point 3 times now.
My first pregnancy was text book perfect. The only difference from then to now is my surgery and weight loss. I know they say to wait 12-18 months after surgery but from all I can tell this is just to avoid getting pregnant whilst rapidly losing weigh causing possible malnutrition.
I’m going to make an appointment with the doctor to do some bloods and see if I’m lacking in anything that might be causing the miscarriages.
anyone experience anything similar?

I'm thinking of joining Crossfit at 6-8 weeks PO, but a little concerned about the energy required. At what point did you join and did you have enough food and nutrients to keep you going? So i joined Crossfit last March i think... hehe..... I thought for sure they were going to kill me. NOPE.... I have never been to a gym that EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE is cheering you on. I walk in and everyone says.... Hey Chris.... What's great about it, i don't have to think. They tell and show me what to do every day. It's like having a personal trainer every day. Some people say... it's expensive, but If you got pay a gym membership and on top of that pay a trainer twice a week..... that's way more than the $100 i pay a month... with no contract. Without that no telling how much i would have gained when i lost my Lapband.
Most places let you try a few times. Don't worry, there are people of every size and level in there. I was definitely the weakest and least fit. But they don't care. Now neither do I.
I get the GNC chewables... they look like a starburst. I know that this site has a great melting one.

So, my doctor is a great surgeon, but not great on the nutrition part and I'm a little lost. I'm 4 weeks PO and trying to get ready for the months ahead. Looking for a nutritionist with experience in bariatric surgery that I can consult with if anyone has any recommendations.

I used my kid's sippy cup for the first 10 days. Worked great. Why is straws a bad thing. I can't drink anything from a cup even if I try to sip slowly it goes down in big gulp an hurt my stomach. When I use the straw it feels better. So why are straws band again?

Fantastic news. So happy for you and best of luck.My apologies for never updating. I was finally approved by my psychologist right before Halloween! She said that I made great progress and just wanted one meeting with one of my parents to make sure that I had at least one person's support. My mother attended and all three of us discussed my case. At the end of the meeting she told me that she would discuss her recommendations to the surgeon on the following Thursday and wished me the best. I have RNY scheduled for December 11.
Thank you so much to everyone here that supported me and gave me advice. It really helped during my pre op journey.

Tomorrow is 3 weeks since I was sleeved. This weekend has been miserable. I feel like I have mono (which I had 20 years ago). I have zero energy and feel very sluggish. I just want to go back to sleep. I am getting in my liquids and at least 60 grams of Protein. I started taking Vitamins last week. I am eating 350-500 calories a day. My urine is pretty clear so I don't think it is dehydration. I felt strong urges for carbs to get some strength. Not sure if this is just my body telling me to take it easier or something more serious. Any thoughts welcomed.GreenTealael reacted to this -

Great to hear. Safe travels.I had VSG surgery on Monday in Tijuana. My clinic took excellent care of me and I was up walking about 2 hours after surgery. The next day I was discharged to a nice hotel. I was completely exhausted. I did a little bit of walking, sipped some broth and electrolytes, but in the evening I experienced the foamies. I think this happens to me if I drink too much or if I go too long without sipping something. I haven’t thrown up and generally feel pretty good today. Today was my barium leak test and I passed with flying colors. I look forward to flying home tomorrow. All of my sleeve sisters seem to be feeling good as well. Tomorrow I also get to add kefir and Protein Shakes to my diet. Hopefully it goes down well.

Sounds like gas? Should go away in a few days.Hi all,
I’m four days post op, with my op day being 15th Nov. Everything seems to be going OK after a shaky start right after they finished surgery as I was into anaphylaxis due to an unknown allergy to one of the meds used.
I’m up and about and out of hospital, feeling pretty good with only very minor pain.
I can get thru enough liquid, but have woken each night feeling uncomfortable, not sure if it’s reflux or nausea, it only happens after I have been sleeping for longer than a few hours. After I burp or go for a walk it passes for a short time, but doesn’t go away completely until I’m up and about for the day. Just wondering if I should be worried, or if it’s normal?
