I am scheduled for surgery on January 19 and am so ready to get skinny and healthy. I am not scared or nervous as of yet but that could change as it gets closer. I start the 2 week pre op diet on January 5 that may me a little tough..but the end result will be awesome

Going back to work
I have surgery scheduled for January 19th..im taking a little more than 6 weeks off. I am a communications operator at a hospital so my job is mainly sedentary. Im taking the extra time to heal and getting to know my new body. Good luck to everyone

Rebecca..I too have been trying different brands of protein drinks. Besides the ones I will get from my dr office the Premier brand chocolate in the ready to drink ( rtd) are pretty good..taste a bit like chocolate milk and they don't have that gross smell that a lot of the ones I have tried seem to have

Beginning stage..
From my initial bariatric forum to my insurance auth was about w months. The day after I received authorization I was scheduled for surgery. My date is January 19 @ 7:30am. I have my preop appointment with surgeon on dec 18th. Then I meet w the dietitian on Jan 5 for preop diet instructions. Then I will begin a 2 week high protein liquid diet to help shrink the liver. I am very excited and not nervous at all

What's Your Surgery Opinion?
From the research that I have done and the information that I have learned a patient starting at 500 lbs should look into the Duodenal Switch. This procedure seems tov work best to help these patients lose tremendous amount of weight. Do your research and ask questions. Best of luck on your journey and I hope you find the healthier you!

Exciting news..after 3 days of which i have received news from my dr office that my insurance company has authorized my surgery. Now im just waiting for the scheduler to call and set up the date and time..

Beginning stage..
I got notice this afternoon from my bariatric surgeon's office that my insurance company has approved my procedure. Authorization only took 3 days. Now I am waiting for surgical scheduler to call and discuss dates. Still hard to believe that in 2015 I will be thinner and healthier.

I got an email from my bariatric surgeon's off this afternoon. My insurance has approved the surgery. Took like 3 days to get approval. Now i wait for surgery scheduler to call. Im planning for mid January. Im very excited and a little nervous. Its been a very long time since i have seen a skinnier me in the mirror. Still hard to believe it will happen. .

I totally agree..please never say ONLY when referring to pounds lost..each pound lost is a victory. .i am still pre sx but hoping to be thinner and healthier soon
