  1. Yeah but my insurance is up in a couple weeks so no more max out of pocket. Large deductible looms for next year
  2. Ugh. Got a pick line so can get out of here. They are scratching their heads. One talked about behavior modification to learn to sip slower. What a quack I know how to sip. The surgeon said could be my body adjusting to new stomach. Yeah 5 weeks later? If I go home with home health. I can at least live on Iv fluids while finding another opinion. To top it off my right big toe has me in excruciating pain. Seem like gout but how on this diet. Waiting for doc to authorize pain med. So as of now may go home tomorrow with averaging only 10 Oz of water a day nothing else and orders for iv at home. There's not more they can do. Oh mamma this big toes a hurtin
  3. 10 hours in ER, finally got a room this morning. Not private though and not in bariatric floor. Only thing they did today was leak test which looked OK. I'm on iv fluids. When they gave me contrast for leak test I threw it up a few minutes later so still can't tolerate fluid. No one knows what's going on. Scary
  4. At least Iv fluids will help so I don't have to drink which I can't do
  5. Back in ER, surgeon wanted me back and will admit me. Possible surgery tomorrow to repair sliding hernia. So scared. Another lapriscopic surgery and recovery. And no Confidence they will fix me.
  6. They stopped treatment for h pylori because I was positive on stomach removed but negative on egd done last week. So they started treating me for a positive a month ago before seeing if I had it now after removing most of stomach
  7. May be going back to ER tonight. Vomiting all day and only 6 Oz of fluids. My wife left message for emergency on call surgeon to call back after last vomiting bout. I'm honestly ready to give up. I can't do this anymore. My insurance won't pay for another bariatric team as that's the center of excellence. My wife's team there is great my team sucks. Since they are partners not sure if they will allow a second opinion. Each Makes rounds for the other on certain days
  8. So now they stopped my antibiotics. Newest egd now showed negative for h pylori. So now I have no answers and as of noon yesterday can't get much down. Vomiting for. Even a sip of water. I've got 3oz down since like 6pm last night until now. Sigh. I think I'm cursed like movie thinner. I'm down 50 lbs but look sickly and feel the same way of course
  9. Plus I have an ulcer is what I think they said. My new stomach is almost 5 weeks post op
  10. My surgeon stinks. Discharged me when I only showed I could get 10 ounces down and expected me to resume day 3 post op diet. Idk what to do. Going backwards again with liquids and health since discharge. iv must have helped while hospitalized
  11. Sorry for typos. Not a good morning. Holding barf bag as usual. Sorry. That's what even a sip of water does to me
  12. Sorry folks. Haven't been on in a few days. Been a rough go. Still struggling with fluids but a bit better. Living on water and a bit of chicken broth maybe 100 calories a day. Cut tolerate much. Also hit a wall each evening and cut complete my med regiment at end of night or will throw it up. The nausea and hunger are killing me. Cant even tolerate protein shakes. Hoping I wake up one day and I can resume normal stage stuff. 5 weeks so far on liquids is killing me. My wife is doing great I her recoveey and is ahead of schedule. On day I went to get her for discharge wound up being a nightmare. She was so excited to go home and on morning of discharge they say they found tumor cells from the liver biopsy. They did a full body scan. No masses found but she has to follow up with oncologist. I've lost 50 lbs since preop diet. It look haggard and sickly. I'd trade it all back to not feel sick like this. I cant live on water and nausea. So still not out of the woods. Your support and prayers Have been appreciated.
  13. I love you guys. The support i have recd here is heart warming. And gives this "horse" the courage to keep racing. I am blessed for this site. I tried my first protein in almost 2 weeks as I was hungry so made a strawberry protein drink with milk. Yeah, wasn't having it. Made me on the verge of vomiting for next 2 hours after only a few sips. Sticking to water and gatorade rest of night though starving. Due to size of pills they gave me , 5 new scripts to fight the h pylori and other symptoms, and quantity after breaking them up to smaller than than a hole punch I wind up with 18 pieces to swallow. That alone is tough and nauseating. Have to do that twice a day on moat and 4 times daily on others. Tough whwn already hard to dronk fluids. I'm just upset that they could have prevented this misery I've been going through and an extra 6 days on hospital had they just done their diligence and started me on this regiment 3 weeks ago. On On a happier note , The pic attached brightened my day as on the eve of her surgery my wife decorated the whole house for the holidays. As ibwas hospitalized, so when I came home to an empty house the tree and decor did brighten my mood. All I want from Santa is a few days of feeling well. Not much to ask I don't think. Night all. And will update you all tomorrow.
  14. thanks folk. Latest update. They will have a watch and see on the hernia which they say is small. They believe my issue was the H Pylori which I tested positive for the day of surgery Nov 6th in which they failed to notice the test result and treat me these past few weeks. After only getting in 8oz yesterday they decided t discharge me today with a host of meds to take at home to continue to fight the infection.I have probably got 30 oz intoday of Gatorade and water. They put me back on the post op diet of liquids for 2 weeks. I would have thought they would at least given me a day to see if I can tolerate enough fluids and protein shakes before kicking me out. My wife is doing great after her bypass. She may be home Friday.I am breathing better today, they think yesterdays fever, chills, and shortness of breath were related to an anesthesia reaction from EGD yesterday. My wife was my advocate but she of course is hospitalized too.Dont really have anyone else around here to help. I am now home alone and the icing on the cake is that when I got home and was carrying my bag in from hospital, I threw my back out. So now riddled in pain and stuck in the chair I made it to when I got home 5 hours ago.The main reason I decided I had to lose the weight was because of my constant back issues. So irony is bytch. I know from past experience, if I lay down, I am not getting back up without help and my walker. so cant lay down. The recliners were great that we bought for surgery recovery but are not good for my back, makes it worse. So half terrified being alone tonight mainly because of my back now. Called surgeon but haven't called back as I have meds for my back spasms, baclofen and prednisone, but don't know if I can take while healing nor if they will interact with the 5 news meds they sent me home with. If I was a horse they;d a put me down by now lol
  15. Ok update. My wife's surgery went well and is resting. I'm not doing the best either. EGD showed a hernia in my esophagus. Anyone know what they do for that? I got a fever today and am very weak. After 40 oz of fluids yesterday only 3 today. I'm on oxygen for shortness of breath.even sitting up or going to restroom makes me almost collapse from exertion. Yesterday I took long walks. Even this morning. This is all post EGD
  16. Ok saw my actual surgeon for first time and I am scheduled for EGD tomorrow. So we will see. I'm tolerating fluids a lot better today. So antibiotics and other meds must be working as they are treating that h pylori
  17. I saw the surgeons fellow this morning. And told him I still wanted it done today, but an hour later they cancelled it and tentatively scheduled for tomorrow now. so frustrated. Day of my surgery I guess I tested for H Pylori. Which they should have been treating me for the past few weeks at home. But they missed the results 4 weeks ago, hence why I am here now and going through this. I hate this place. I would not wish my worst enemy to utilize Tampa General Hospitals program or facilities. This "center of excellence" sucks. Nurse told us last night when my wife asked if she sees a lot of bariatric surgery patients come back for re-admits, and she said yes. Hell was in ER here last Monday and they sent me home said they didn't see anything and I was just dehydrated. SOMETHING IS CAUSING ME not to get fluids down hence dehydration. May be the H Pylori but would be nice to know they have looked inside to rule anything else out.
  18. was able to get some fluids down yesterday. about 20 oz maybe which is a major improvement. Been waiting for days to get EGD today so surgeon can see whats going on, but they said this morning since I got some fluids down yesterday, they may want to wait a couple days to see how it goes. Being treated for H Pylori. But no harm in doing EGD. Id hate to wait again only to have to have it. I rather have peace of mind after a scope. So we will see. My wife comes here for her bypass tomorrow morning at 5am. I am seeing if they will let me go down to OR waiting room tomorrow morning. Making it tough as I wasn't supposed to be sick and would take her to surgery and be there but Im in here too,
  19. Hey all. Thanks for the prayers and wishes. They admitted me and will be here at least until Monday or Tuesday. Surgeon will do EGD when he returns beginning of week. Right now they believe I have an ulcer/abscess. Also was told I had tested positive for h pylori from pre op EGD biopsy but they just noticed now? ? So I am on IV fluids anti biotics and some PPI drip. I've maybe got 10 oz of fluids today. Just getting worse so best I am here I guess. Haven't had any food or protein in a week. Starving but can't even tolerate water. Will keep u all posted. Thanks all!
  20. They just transferred me by ambulance to the hospital where my surgery was done. I dread that place.
  21. Called surgeon ams said give it an other day to try and force gatorade in or go in tomorrow night for IV for dehydration. I'm trying but struggling to get the fluids in
  22. Hi. I am almost 3 weeks out and have had a rough go. Was in the hospital yesterday. Had to get IV fluids and a work up. They really didn't find much except dehydration and so me swelling in my esophagus. Past days prior I had this pressure pain in my chest and esophagus which has made it hard to drink fluids. Today I have nausea and cant get much fluids down (20 oz of Gatorade). Today is different though, when I burp (often) I get pain/ache in my esophagus, chest, and stomach area. Almost like when you over inflate something as burping expands these areas. When not burping I still have tightness in chest and ache but much more sharp when I burp. Anyone experience this before? Any ideas? Most sips cause more chest pain to like someone is sitting on my chest. Again, I interpret it as when the esophagus, chest, and stomach expands. Im just miserable and I got no answers from ER. I am very weak due tolack of fluids and nutrients I imagine. I just want to feel well for 1 day. thanks all and wishes for a Happy Healthy Thanksgiving for Everyone

    Where are the November Sleevers?

They won't give me steroids as inhibits healing. Basically was told to stay on gatorade another or go in tomorrow night for dehydration. Happy freaking thanksgiving. Figures that I'll ruin it for everyone as we are hosting
  24. It's like I need to burp each sip to allow it to pass a certain point. I wish they would have done an EGD in the hospital yesterday. The surgeon kind of mentioned that possibility when I had him paged Sunday but they never did it yesterday. Just blood work and a cat scan of esophogus and chest. They didn't even look at the stomach area
