  1. And every tiny sip i take I have to have these painful burps. Then some nausea. My perception is as if some place is too narrow, restricting proper flow
  2. ps: to be clear, its not th same as the pain from burping or sneezing or coughing post surgery. I gad those and this is not related. thx

    Where are the November Sleevers?

Sleeved on November 6th. Having rough time was back in hospital yesterday for dehydration and chest/esophagus pain. Just don't feel well and haven't been getting my fluids in. Pureed foods not tolerated either. I'm on gatorade right now to get electrolytes in.
  4. Hi. Last night I started getting this brightness in my chest along with a pain in my chest esophogus area. Kind of feels like when you swallow to big a gulp of Water and hurts going down except in this case that feeling isn't going away in a few seconds. Hurts to burp or hiccup or breath in as the feeling is mor prevalent then. Any ideas? I'm just miserable and hoped I would sleep it off but still here this morning. Seemed a bit better until I took a sip of water and right back to a bad as it was. Im.on omeprazole btw. Thx

    Esophogus/chest pain, tightness

Headed to the ER. Will keep you posted. So lethargic. Haven't been getting much in probably because of this esophagus issue.
  6. Hi. I had heard that if you still had a gall bladder then it would be removed during the VSG surgery because of the high rate of gall stones with rapid weight loss. I had my pre-admission pre-op visit today, surgery 1 week from today. About 6 weeks ago, I called the bariatric center I work with and specifically asked if my gall bladder will be removed as I had hoped so and the gal there put me on hold to verify and she said yes. The reason I asked to be sure, was that I saw the insurance paperwork and mentioned an EGD, VSG, and liver biopsy but no gall bladder removal. SO I wanted to make sure it was being removed and I was told it will be and is part of the VSG entry for insurance ie: gall bladder removal is part of what they do in the procedure. Anyway, today the Physicians Asst that saw me as part of pre-op where I sign my surgery consent, said NO, it is not standard unless I had had gall bladder issues before. She said only like 10% develop issues but I had read it was like 60% or more hence why its standard to remove the gall bladder. Afterwards she tells me how it does "suck" as her sister was sleeved last year and 9 months later had to have her gall bladder removed. How many of you had it removed (if you still had one) and how many had it left in and if so, any issues? This bariatric center is becoming more incompetent by the day and my surgery is in a week. uggggg I just didn't want issues down the road which would be painful, cost more money and more lost work time. I cant really do anything now because if I raise a stink or ask for it, will delay my surgery (ie insurance re-approvals etc..) thx

    Esophogus/chest pain, tightness

I just spoke with surgeon. He said I should go to EL to get chest checked out if I think it's something with chest. But sounds like narrowing of esophagus. Thinks something may have irritated it and it's swollen. Only pureed I had yesterday was 2 tsp applesauce and a laughing cow cheese licked over the course of 30 mins. He suggested trying just liquid all day and see if that helps reduce swelling of esophagus otherwise call them tomorrow so they can maybe get me in.
  12. Today I wanted to strain a hot cocoa with protein powder and instead of the big strainer what works perfect for the single servings we make is one of those kitchen sink mesh drain covers. You can get them for like a dollar and they fit perfect over the top of a coffee cup or any cup. Just pour through that into your cup and those little chunks are gone. Nice and easy. Train soup, broth, protein shakes, whatever. thought i would share. Have a great day.
  13. Yeah I can barely choke these sweet tart things down. Hate them
  14. Today's the first day I'm not nauseous, pain is tolerable, and feel pretty good. Issue is, as of Saturday I'm constantly starving. Wtf. Only reason for these surgeries are to allow us to eat a reduced calorie set and not feel hungry, hence weight loss. I have taken my antacids, got my protein minimums and fluid minimums. Even after finishing a feeding I am still starving. If it's this "head" hunger then what's the difference, body is still sending a starving signal so sure feels like I'm hungry as all get out. All I keep thinking of is how I ate a lot better and lost rapid weight on the preop diet and I should have just not had the surgery and stuck to that. Sigh. Just finished a jello and will try and have some more broth. But not satiated in between feedings
  15. Hi. I'll be entering soft food stage soon. I don't see noodles on any lists for post op diet. Like chicken noodle soup or something, the noodles are mushy, is there a reason noodles can't be eaten?
  16. nprcowboy

    Soft foods stage, noodles OK?

How far post op are you?
  17. 8 days post op and after a coughing fit the other day I have the most intense burning searing pain on my right side when I am in a sitting or bending the position like nursing the restroom. Becomes unbearable the pain. But if I recline back or lay down no pain at all once it settles down. I Googled it and looks like could be part of healing process from where they cut. Either way sucks
  18. I am 4 days post op and am on my 2 week liquid post op diet. Was wondering if I added a shot of like crystal hot sauce to my broth if that would cause any issues with my new stomach? I love the hit of flavor it adds and was enjoying it on the pre op diet. Beef broth with a couple of squirts of crystal.
  19. Ok sorry. U may delete. We come here for support and you have some unsupportive folks. I understand. My apologies
  20. Well said. These forums are for support and for the most part folks are good at offering support I have only seen a few that attack others here. Shame on them. This process is individualized and none of us truly know what the other may be going thru mentally with this whole thing. I was raised that if you have nothing nice to say you don't say anything. Unfortunately some on here were not and are happy to aggravate folks recovering from surgery
  21. don't be a douche. Either offer some support or keep your mouth shut. We all go through our stages. From what I read it's very normal. I am appreciative to the others who have given great insight and makes sense. 2 days to pureed!
  22. what do u mean by yawn? If boring you keep it to yourself. .we come here for support not aggravation
