Other than my hubby, no one knows I've had the surgery. I'm almost 6 weeks out and down about 40 lbs. I've been in stall for almost 3 weeks actually so most of that weight was early on.
Anyway, I've had the opposite reaction. No one (friend or family) has said anything! No one! I'm thinking, 'Is it possible to lose 40 lbs and it not be noticeable?!' Lol I think I'll hug the first person who says, 'Hey,have you lost weight?'

I understand what you go thru completely. My sisters have always been competitive when it comes to looks and have always left me out because i am the fat one. Well thats going to change I've spent my life focused on academics and I'm ready to put that on the back burner for my health and a healthier me. I've always figured looks fade but my itelligence is what would set me apart. Now by no means would i call myself ugly, i believe everyone is attractive in their own way. But now with hard work and dedication my outside will match my inside!Good luck on your journey.
I love when my daughter tells me mom you look pretty, it makes you feel great and I'm glad your son does that for you too.

I told my twin sister I was having surgery and her reply was "you can lose it without surgery" my comment to her was "if I could, I would have done it already." She has always been thinner than me and the one time I was thinner than her,she lost more weight,which she didn't have to lose. I'm 5 weeks post op and down 17. I want it to be more and I know it will happen in my own time. My 24 yr old son said to me the other day "looking good mom." That made my day. I still haven't eaten much in the last 2 days nor have I gotten in my Fluid or Protein. I can feel it in my middle to lower back. I will and need to have a Protein Shake tonight to help with protein. I went to Perkins for lunch and ordered a ham and cheese omelet with egg beaters and wheat toast. I took two bites of toast and about 5 bites of the omelet and I was done. I couldn't eat any more,as it hurt too much. I was even taking tiny bites and waiting between bites. I wait so long my food gets cold. Ok, now I'm rambling and I apologize for that.

I don't know if I will be able to lose that much but I already expect people to say "Whoa you are losing too much." People are used to me being 403 lbs. Losing 100 lbs would make a huge difference in the way I look and the 90 lbs I have lost already has. If I were to lose the 250 lbs that would put me at 22% BMI but would be a MASSIVE change in my appearance. It would not surprise me if I lose 150 lbs for someone to start saying "You are losing too much, you look unhealthy." My reply would be I am letting my doctor decide when it is too much.

. I'm ok. I have nausea off and on. I couldn't handle plain water for the longest time so I used Sweet Leaf water drops. I'm having a hard time dealing with eating, nothing appeals to me most of the time. I understand that is a common problem at this point. I actually can feel in my pouch. Like I can tell when something goes in and I can tell when I'm full.

I honestly have not had an appetite so I know it's not because of eating too much. even after drinking Water I get nauseous :/ I get a bad taste in my mouth and blehh. Same for me and I have not been able to narrow down the cause… sometimes I think it is because I ate too much, but sometimes it happens after a string cheese stick… not my Vitamins, either, because some times it happens when I eat and do not take my vitamins for that meal… Also, not too much sugars. Hope it goes away soon!

For the most part I've only had negativity from one sister. Not many people know about my sleeve. She knows and can be insensitive to people's feelings but unfortunately that's her personality. I don't really see my weight loss. My husband has noticed and says he can tell when he hugs me. I don't even know what to expect if I lose 100-150 pounds lol.Maybe you're wife will say you've disappeared when you lose that 100-150lbs lol.

@@kvoneye Sending you hugs!!! You have done fantastic so far! When I have a day that I don't want to eat which was yesterday I just added Protein Powder to my drink. I only count Protein to get at least 60g so I don't loose muscle. Are you able to do some walking? I have to make myself go walk but while I'm walking it gives me a new perspective on things & I seem to do my best thinking. Hoping your able to get your protein in today! Best of luck!!

@@miiasan It sounds like we are moving along about the same pace. I'm happy with the weight loss & don't care how fast as long as it moves in the right direction! I'm with you, I'm happy & feeling better than ever!!!! Thats worth a lot! We may not be the first to reach our goals but we won't be the last!!! Heading to victory!!!

@@miiasan that's great news. I remember my scale doing the same thing. It's still moving slow,but still moving. Yesterday and today I am not the least bit interested in food. I even skipped my morning Protein and grabbed flavored water and that is a struggle to drink. I'm hoping as the day goes on, I can force myself to eat a Quest bar that I brought to work. I know that if a person doesn't get in their calories,that can cause the scale to stall. I hope I'm nothing getting an "I don't care attitude." Good luck with your continued weight loss.

@@sleevemylife Ugh!!! I feel so bad for you! That is a horrible feeling!!!! What has your Doctor said about it? Do you think you may have developed a lactose intolerance? I had nausea pills when I came home from the hospital but I never used them. So sorry your having to go through this! let us know how your feeling tomorrow or what your Dr. said!
