Hello, I finally scheduled my surgery. I wasn't nervous until I actually set the date. I will be going alone. I have read some bad things about him and that scares me but I have to remember that is just a small percentage of the patients. I am hoping for no complications and I am going to take a month off of work. I heard others went straight back but I feel I need the time. My BMI is just at 35. I haven't set a goal weight. Honestly I don't even know what to expect to lose. I can't remember when I was thin and I certainly don't remember getting this big. I am only 5'4 and weight 201. I don't want to look like a pencil but will be glad to be in the normal BMI range. My FAM thinks that I could just lose the weight on my own. I have tried and it's hard to keep the weight off. I know that I won't have a problem reaching my goal. I just don't know what that goal is. I need assistance with finding a good protein powder/shake. The doctor put me on a 3 day preopt diet. I have 3 days of low calorie protein shake for breakfast and lunch and for dinner a lean protein without seasoning and anything liquids of course. Has anyone had Almanza recently? Or went to Tijuana? Please share your experience

I saw some at Big Lots for $1 each. I don't know if that is a savings. I haven't started my journey yet. I am planning now. My surgery is scheduled for Feb 4th and I have a 3 day are op diet to follow.

Well I was able to use my FSA card for Dr. Almamza through weight loss agents. So he will be the one doing my surgery and I am going alone

Does anyone have any information on this doctor or have already had surgery with him? I am not finding anything on this doctor.

I am hoping to get sleeved in January. I haven't applied for my passport yet (I know... bad me)!!! I will do that Friday. Hopefully It won't take long to get it and maybe I can get the surgery in the 3 or 4th week. I am still undecided about the doctor I will choose but am going to Mexico. I will be going alone. My family thinks that I should just lose weight "naturally". My BMI is just at 35. I was gonna try my insurance but decided against it due to all the hoops you have to jump through for approval. I am nervous and excited at the same time.

Does anyone know what the requirements are for Florida BCBS?

Does anyone know the requirements for surgery? I called BCBS and the rep said i needed to speak with a prior authorization nurse and my MDs office needs to send them some info. I advised the rep that i haven't even discussed this with my doctor yet. I wanted to know what the requirements were first. I don't want to go through all of that if I would be denied. So after that long phone call i still dont know the requirements.

I dont even know what size. I wont be getting sleeved until Jan 2015 and havent been under a size 16-18 in probably 7 years. I cant even remember being smaller.

I will be staying at the Holiday Inn as well.
