  1. Chapstick, a robe, my toothbrush...mouth was super gross...and very comfy clothes to go home! Good luck!
  2. It gets better I promise...sip, sip, sip all the live long day!
  3. I think so too...do as much prep as you can the days leading up to the big day...
  4. My NUT wants me to have 80 grams of protein including 2 shakes and 3 small meals a day. I can barely get in 1 shake and a couple of meals. I am 6 weeks out and back to regular foods. how much protein does everyone else get?
  5. Peanut butter and Mayo on white bread....so yummy...I'd make chicken and dumplings and eat the raw dough.....Frozen french fries....Ice cream by the pint...any flavor...Ugh what was I thinking.
  6. i lost a pound a day on the pre-op diet of 2 protein shakes a day and 1 meal with a lean protein and small serving of veggies. Plenty of water and go decaf.
  7. I'm right there with you. I'm almost 4 weeks post op. Doing the mashies right now and on a business trip. I can't wait to get back home and start cooking.
  8. My doc said no driving for 48 hours after general anesthesia and 8 hours after last pain mess.
  9. I told my job the hiatal hernia repair. I was only off 4 days but I do have a desk job. So it worked for me. good luck and do protect yourself.
  10. The first week was sucky for me, by the second week it was so much better. Week 3 I left on a 10 day business trip. I feel pretty darn good. A few aches and pain trying to get comfy at night but other than that...movement for me was the key. The more I moved the better I felt...laps around the house...then down the driveway etc. I still have bouts of diarrhea mixed with constipation....my MD and NUT say it's normal for the first month or so.
  11. Surgery late Monday afternoon but didn't leave hospital until Thursday. I became dehydrated due to extreme nausea...
