  2. Wow I will use what you've learned. I've always been socially awkward when it comes to the opposite sex.
  3. it was the same with me. People look at me and they say oh you're not the big O what do you need the surgery for, as my aunt said just push away from the table. And I told my aunt it didn't work for you. I have some of my coworkers who say she's going to come back looking all sexy. For the most part it is my decision, and I thought about it long and hard. I looked at my mother and it scared me. My mother has congestive heart failure or, high cholesterol, type two diabetes, she gets like ulcers, cyst that just appear all over her body, she's 63 and started walking with a cane. And I just keep saying to myself, I can't let that be me. When I was younger I often said to myself that if I ever got over 300 pounds I would have to do something drastic. And I got to 303 pounds in April of this year and i'm doing something about it. I want to be in the best shape of my life in 2 years at my 40th birthday. I already have plans to have a senior prom.
  4. its coming so fast and so slow. I've got the kind of will I won't I thing happening.
  5. @@tacycakes I don't think the Catheter is as much pain as it is this weird sensation. (I've had two c-sections). I'm 5'4 started at 303lbs in May. I'm at 286.4 now did a semi liquid diet last week with maybe a total of four solid meals last week. Tomorrow is the start of my official pre-op liquid diet. I used this week to see what protein drinks worked bet for me. but I also ordered the genepro. This a vegan protein meal replacement made from sprouted brown rice and others. If you let it sit for a bit it gets this gloopy cream of wheat consistency which I actually prefer. My surgery is on Columbus Day, the 13th. So close. I have average anxiety. I just feel like I need to have everything cleaned up before it. I've been quite fatalistic as of late.
  6. bad idea I tried it yesterday and the protein would not mix well. Maybe because I was using plant protein.
  7. Just wanted to let everyone know. There's a website that can bill your liquid vitamins and protein to your insurance. Insurenutrition.com I am hoping this works out. They said they will fax the prescription to my doctor so I'll update you all when I hear more from them.
  8. You are doing great AuriP!!!????????
  9. I'm starting with this vegan protein meal replacement mixed with almond or rice milk. Because maybe the dairy protein is what was making me ill.
  10. oh nooooo. WTH!!!
  11. i chalk it up to I wasn't actually supposed to start it until the six. So I was using this week as a test week. I picked up some vegan Meal Replacements and some Protein powder to add to my chicken broth. Last night the server kept bringing the shrimp but I couldn't eat but the first 12. So I didn't go all the way off.
  12. Alright date two of the pre-op diet and I've already slipped I had a protein shake about 3 o'clock in the morning at work and then I didn't eat anything else I just drink water and then at like 7 o'clock at night I went to Endless shrimp.
  13. yay!!!!! And this it begins ....
  14. Thank you Becky and gahannagal. My dad, who is also a doctor, told me to drink more fluid because it's the ketones needing to be washed out. I lost 5 pounds in one day. It's crazy. Same scale same clothes.
  15. I've only been doing the liquid diet for a day and a half and I'm having horrible heartburn, headache and nausea.
  16. Did anybody else have a problem with the pre-op diet? I have the full liquid 800 cal diet and I'm getting really bad heartburn, chest pains and nausea
  17. no heart attack but it took me forever to finish. I can't remember the last time I ate a 1/2 pound burger.
  18. Working at night sucks for calorie counting. My days are always confused.
  19. Chicken broth is 10 cal a can and add unflavored protein powder if yoj like. For a change.
  20. thats the same pre-op diet they put me on. I needed to stop the sweetness so I added chicken broth which is only 10 kcal for an 8 oz can. To this I can add this unflavored Protein powder I found at the Vitamin shoppe.
  21. well with me being an operating room nurse yeah you can't really have the red fingernails and definitely not anything that's blue.
  22. that is a great idea. I'm going to schedule a Mani/Pedi before I go and no fingernail polish on your nails but the toes are all a go.
