  1. That would keep it longer without freezer burn. I think that's an awesome idea. I might have to look into one too!
  2. You can do the same prep you do now with your crock pot. I stead of cooking and freezing things just put full meals in a freezer bag and in the morning before work.put it in the crock pot and dinner will be ready when you get home. You'll probably have more than you need for just one meal but you'll have lunch for the next day with no extra cooking.
  3. Can you take emergent-c or something to try to ward off the cold?
  4. Cook everything in a muffin tin!!!! Go on piterest and look up muffin tin meals and you will find a lot. You can make the meals and then freeze them. That way you don't waste food and you are always prepared. I especially love mini quiche for breakfast made in my muffin tin. Make 12 freeze them and pop them in the microwave when you're ready for it.
  5. I have told some people and I have decided not to tell anyone else because I don't want to have to explain it a thousand times. What I find is that people who have never had a struggle with their weight think that it's as simple as eating right and exercising for everybody and it's not!. People who know nothing about WLS will tell you all the things they heard other people say and never take the time to research it themselves. What I would say to you is to stop explaining and just ask that those who know be supportive and those that don't, let them guess about it and admire your progress and hard work!
  6. Folgers has flavors for coffee that is 0 cal, 0 sugar.....I tried it in my chocolate Premier Protein shake this morning (hazelnut flavor) and it's GOOD!!!!!!!!! If you've ever had a hazelnut macchiato from Starbucks, it kind of reminds me of that. It used to be my favorite before my bank account denied my Starbucks habit lol! Just wanted to share if anyone is tired of plain ole chocolate!
  7. I have a nutri bullet. I like it for my shakes. But I don't think it would be the best for purees. I also have a baby bullet that I used to make food for my son when he was at the pureed foods stage. To me its probably still not going to do meats very well but it comes with these little cups that are perfect for portion sizes for us. The ninja would probably be the best. The blades on that are better than any of the bullets so that may be better. I plan on buying beechnut baby food lol. Or maybe I'll use my sister in law's ninja!!!
  8. The awesome outfits I'm going to wear to my godbrother's wedding weekend in Seprember! I'm singing in the ceremony and my band is playing the reception. I'm changing after the ceremony! Then a third outfit for the traditional (Ethiopian) reception the next day. They happen to be one of my favorite couples so it will be pretty awesome for me to work hard and look amazing for their day! (That and I could just meet my future hubby there lol)
  9. Ok. Thanks! Have you ever seen them at Walmart or Target? I'm unemployed and get pretty good assistance with food because I have a baby (he's 3...not exactly a baby lol). So I can't order them online.
  10. I ate 4 tacos last night. I can't wait to have your problem LOL! I want a pic of the stomach they remove just so when people start passing judgement I can pull out my phone and show it to then. I bet then they would just ring up the one damn taco and shut up! Hell, they advertise a price for one so SOMEBODY is gonna eat just one taco!!!
  11. I'm praying it works out that way for me as well. I don't like taking medicine and I really prefer not to have narcotics in the house because I have a very clever 3 year old! (He for into my muscle relaxers and freaked ne out because one was missing....I didn't sleep for 2 days). But I want to be as prepared as possible. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
  12. ...sugar free syrup for shakes? And where do you get them? I decided to buy a case of vanilla premier protien shakes because I can add syrup to it to change the flavor. So I want to know what some of your favorites are.
  13. @@BitterSweet* codine sulfate. But I don't like taking it so I usually just grin and bare it. Maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones who don't need pain meds once I'm home.
  14. I have an anaphylactic reaction so I avoid most pain meds like the plague! I'm mostly given codine sulfate for pain but I remember it not helping much with my c section pain.
  15. Oh ok. At the advice of a firmer teacher who was a Medical Assistant for a long time, I'm going to ask if they can draw some of my own blood so that if I need a transfusion, I will have my own to do it with. If I don't need it I can just donate it or whatever.
  16. So I'm allergic to asprin, tylenol and NSAIDs (includes ibuprofen). What the HELL am I going to get for pain meds???
  17. New clothes and SHOES!!!! Being comfortable in public in a regular swimsuit, not a swimdress....maybe even in a bikini! Being more active with my son!!!!!!!!! Right now I hate going to the playground or anywhere because I get tired too fast. That's gonna change soon!!!
  18. What do you mean by "operate without blood"?
  19. Thanks ladies! Yeah, my grandma is funny. I'm her only grand daughter and there are 5 boys. Growing up I got the short end of the stick (then it was just 2 boys). So I think she is making up for it all now AND I think that she lashed out at me about the surgery at first because she probably wishes she had done it. She's now planning knee replacement #2. But either way I'm winning and I thank God for her still!!
  20. I was thinking today that the last piece I am missing is the $350 program fee and I have no idea how I'm going to get it. So I had planned to email the nutritionist and ask her if I could pay it after the day of the class (Tuesday). About an hour later, my grandmother calls and asks if I had gotten the money for and I told her no. Then she asks, "who do I make the check out to?" (Insert Happy Dance Here!) This is the same grandma who told me that she didn't want me to have the surgery because "you're just gonna fuck it up. you're jus like me, that's what we do, we fuck shit up".....well.....THANK GOD FOR HER ANYHOW!!!!
  21. I found them at my local giant.
  22. I bought 2 of these today. Took a SIP of the grape one. Not the best but not the worst either. I'm still going to try the isopure though I've heard good things about the taste.
  23. How do you like it? The smell is a turn off to me. At least with the meat options.
  24. @@bellabloom and @@catdaddy (love that name!) I think this is one of those instances where everyone is different. When I tried to lose weight in the past, specifically on Weight Watchers, the less I ate the less I lost. If I lost at all. The weeks where I ate "normal" I had the biggest numbers. 5-7 pounds lost in a week. @ are you on medication for your thyroid? Have you talked to your nutritionist about how it would affect your progress? If you are otherwise following the program, I think that's a conversation worth having.
