  3. Ok, so the first advice I would give you... is seek out another surgeon. You must be really comfortable with your surgeon, his skills, his reputation etc. I wouldn't want someone I voluntarily asked to work on me that I didn't trust. You need to find out which surgery is actually BEST for you... and not one you choose! I had a choice.. but I chose the RNY... it was better for ME. Good luck on your journey. Hit up a support group... others can help you through this!
  4. I had this problem directly after surgery for about 3 months... and I still have a slight numbing to this day...it's been just over 6 months... My Dr. told me it was because of the way and force he has to strap you down for surgery ... that most likely its nerves that were pinched. HOpefully...it'll be gone soon.. but you are right... it was very bothersome at first...and pain meds did not take care of it! GOod luck!

  6. Don't stress!!!!!!!!!!!! it happens to everyone. I hit mine at 3 weeks as well. Took a couple of weeks...and I wasn't exercising ... and then I just kept dropping. Your body is trying to adjust..... Relax....it will pass...and continued success!!!!
  7. I'm hoping some hairdressers will reply.... but I've been told by a lot of hair people that Pantene is one of the worst shampoos you can use. I only use salon products...currently I'm using Paul Mitchell. Your milage may very... but I'm just past three months.. and I haven't noticed significant hair loss or breakage.... Good luck! Christina
  8. Don't know. I just go by what my Nut approves.
  9. Premier protein can add 30 grams. I'm 11 weeks out and still drink one for breakfast.
  10. i knew what you meant! ????. I do look at labels etc. I'm allowed up to 120 carbs but I stay in the 70 to 90 range. I listening to everyone tell me not to worry. So trying my best. It'll come off. Eventually.
  11. Well a lot more than I am. I'd like to have those big drops that others have instead of staying the same weight for two weeks. I am 300lbs. at 600 calories a day it should be falling off!!!
  12. I have spoken with her...my lab results were "normal" before my surgery. I just wonder if they've changed... the meds I'm on are supposed to help. I'll have labs done soon...so we'll figure it out. I am just frustrated because I just don't seem to be losing like others... and I need to let that go! I'm worried that I broke my pouch... because some days I seem to be able to eat more than others... I have no problem getting down a 1/2 cup (dry) oatmeal...so when it is cooked, isn't it like a cup? Then other days, two bits of salmon will HURT! I know somebody said in this thread they didn't believe in eating more to lose... I'm just so confused by it all. Thanks for listening!
  13. Thanks to everyone for contributing to this thread! It helps for me to hear some positive things about not worrying because I see others stats... and mine are just terrible comparably. I know we aren't supposed to compare... but it is hard when you see someone who has had surgery 9 weeks ago (like me) down like 70lbs.... from SURGERY weight and not just surgery plus 2 week liquid ... I struggle with eating. I do know that I do everything I can to get my Protein and Water in. I work hard on that. If I don't think I'm going to get my protein in by food...then I just drink a Protein Drink.... Lately, I've been having a protein drink for Breakfast... seems to help! Someone shared this app with me...Baratric Timer! It has been super helpful with regards to water! Now, if I could find one for the Vitamins. I am forgetting to take them!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again!
  14. Hi ya! Synthroid is a medication that is given to people with thryoid conditions. In our case - Hypo or underactive thyroid! :-)
  15. I do use MyFitnessPal! Religiously ... every day. I may not record everything - because - for example - last night I made a Pasta sauce with ground turkey. I threw in some matchstick carrots and some tri colored peppers. I didn't measure those... I just need to know that I'm losing!!!!!!! And stop concentrating on the fact that it is slooooowwwwww :-)
  16. I take the Bariatric Advantage Vitamins, Calcium and Iron. I have had a second shot of B12....so I'm good I think! :-) The whole Vitamin thing scares me a bit....I know for now I'm taking the right stuff...but if I switch to "over the counter" I need to know I'm taking the "right stuff". :-)
  17. Thanks for writing! I get an average of 70g's of Protein in a day. Some days are less, most days are more. I also went from 64 oz to 80oz. I will admit....I do my darndest to get the 64 in...and bonus is 80!!! I eat low calorie, low carb, high protein about 5 times a day....ok...let's be real....I don't eat 5 times a day...I'm lucky if I eat three! Just bummed... and complaining...and I know I shouldn't! It didn't take 8 weeks to put it on, why should I think it'll take 8 weeks to take it off! Happy New Year!
