  1. I've been reading and see that some people didn't have more than 1-2 weeks and some 1-3 days pre-op diet. Why in the WORLD is my doc saying 4 weeks???????????
  2. I'm praying for a date in January with Dr. K. Vaziri at George Washington Univ. hospital in DC ????????????
  3. I have to do this for 4 weeks and I'm sooooooo nervous that I won't be able to. Good luck with your surgery!!
  4. Thanks! Good luck to you too and congrats! I'm so ready for the new me! I was going through old clothes yesterday and have designated one side of one of my closets to clothes I want to get into again (or for the first time). It's really motivating to open the closet and see that!
  5. @bonbyswife I'm kind if proud of myself for exercising restraint? Before my son it would have been MUCH different!
  6. @@GreenEyes604 good luck!!! I'm going to start the liquid as soon as she tells me she's sending my stuff off.
  7. It will be at GWU hospital. I haven't gotten a date yet but I'm praying for mid January. Have you had yours yet?
  8. I had to try very hard not to go off! And I did say to her, as she was being rude, that my bottom number isn't usually that high. She kind of got pissed and slammed the bag and coupon down in the table. I just took my stuff and got my son and got out of there as fast as I could to avoid going to jail for assault! Lol
  9. I just ha my BP checked at cvs so I could get a $5 off coupon. If normal is 120/80 then 117/83 is pretty decent. I'm normally at 117/74 I've never had a BP problem. The pharmacist feels the need to basically tell me the bottom number is too high be Use I'm too fat....she should thank her lucky stars that I know Jesus because I really wanted to reach across that table and slap the piss out of her! This is why I prefer to only let my DOCTORS talk to me about my health. But in the bright side my items came up to $.29 ????????
  10. I'm praying I get a date in January. My last appointment is Dec 4th. And by the 12th my stuff should be sent out for insurance approval. I was told it takes 2 weeks max to get a decision and I'm gonna be bugging the insurance company after about 3 days lol
  11. I asked the patient navigator (that's what they call the case manager at my surgeon's office) for her unofficial advice on how long it takes for the approval to come back. She has to tell me 6 weeks officially but she was nice enough to tell me that she's never seen it take more than two unless there was missing information. Good luck on getting it done before the year ends! Bug the insurance company if you have to. Be diligent and save yourself some money!!!
  12. @@Rogofulm Thanks for posting the link to that article. I read a lot about the stalls but never really understood why it happens or what to do about it. The article is very helpful.
  13. @@Elode, they didn't say I needed to either which I thought was strange. I did lose a pound at my last visit. Maybe I will have lost another when I go back on the 4th....but then again I'll be out of town all next week eating and drinking smh #fingerscrossed
  14. @@tfarr, I envy you. I have to do 4 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm terrified!!! lol! Good luck!
  15. Thanks @@SuperDave!! BTW You have done an awesome job! Congrats!!
  16. Anyone NOT lose weight prior to surgery? What happens if you don't?
  17. So I haven't gotten insurance approval yet. I have 2 more appointments before they can submit my file. But I have 2 big events coming up next year, Church Anniversary formal banquet in April, and one of my best friends is getting married in September. I am SUPER excited about the surgery because for the first time in about 17 years I will be able to put on a formal dress (or any dress) and take pictures with confidence.....full body pictures! I know I can't predict the size I will be by then, especially April, but I am hopeful and determined to do well! I want to be in a FAB gown with FAB HEELS (I was the girl that wore 6" heels almost every day!! I miss it!!). Am I too excited too soon? How did you feel when you made the decision to have WLS?
  18. I always wear the same type of clothing when I go. And I try to make all my appointments in the morning so that I can go on an empty stomach LOL!! I have been doing it this way since I started Weight Watchers when I was in 10th grade. (16 years go). Congrats on your loss!! #AWESOME
  19. It was recommended that I try the liquid pre-op diet before I was actually on it. I think my NUT was right on the money with that suggestion. I've messed up big time but I've also seen that I could do it without major issues. Most of this seems to me to be mental......
  20. Yup. Same thing. Mine is $350. Smh. I will figure something out. My mom might pay it. She's surprisingly EXTREMELY supportive! But she did always say that there would come a time where I'd be sick and tired of being sick and tired and she would support whatever I choose to do to fix it (mainly so she could buy me clothes....I'm okay with that!!) lol
  21. This so sounds more like a pregnancy post than a WLS post ???????? I guess it's good to know that it should but another body pillow to sleep in my side though ????
  22. I started this process in early October and I will be done with all my requirements on 5 Dec. I'm PRAYING for a surgery date in January! My case worker says my insurance is good for approvals in 2 weeks max but legally they have to say 6. I'll have a 4 week liquid diet prior to surgery. The biggest issue for me will be the $350 I have to pay out of pocket. Though it's not a huge amount, I'm unemployed so it may as well be $3,000 lol.
  23. Goodness!! Take it easy! (steroids are the devil!!)
