  1. ...sugar free syrup for shakes? And where do you get them? I decided to buy a case of vanilla premier protien shakes because I can add syrup to it to change the flavor. So I want to know what some of your favorites are.

    Can we talk blenders?

I have a nutri bullet. I like it for my shakes. But I don't think it would be the best for purees. I also have a baby bullet that I used to make food for my son when he was at the pureed foods stage. To me its probably still not going to do meats very well but it comes with these little cups that are perfect for portion sizes for us. The ninja would probably be the best. The blades on that are better than any of the bullets so that may be better. I plan on buying beechnut baby food lol. Or maybe I'll use my sister in law's ninja!!!
  3. The awesome outfits I'm going to wear to my godbrother's wedding weekend in Seprember! I'm singing in the ceremony and my band is playing the reception. I'm changing after the ceremony! Then a third outfit for the traditional (Ethiopian) reception the next day. They happen to be one of my favorite couples so it will be pretty awesome for me to work hard and look amazing for their day! (That and I could just meet my future hubby there lol)

    What's your favorite...

Ok. Thanks! Have you ever seen them at Walmart or Target? I'm unemployed and get pretty good assistance with food because I have a baby (he's 3...not exactly a baby lol). So I can't order them online.

    One Chicken Taco

I ate 4 tacos last night. I can't wait to have your problem LOL! I want a pic of the stomach they remove just so when people start passing judgement I can pull out my phone and show it to then. I bet then they would just ring up the one damn taco and shut up! Hell, they advertise a price for one so SOMEBODY is gonna eat just one taco!!!

    What kind of pain meds?

I'm praying it works out that way for me as well. I don't like taking medicine and I really prefer not to have narcotics in the house because I have a very clever 3 year old! (He for into my muscle relaxers and freaked ne out because one was missing....I didn't sleep for 2 days). But I want to be as prepared as possible. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

    Exactly! You too!!

    What kind of pain meds?

@@BitterSweet* codine sulfate. But I don't like taking it so I usually just grin and bare it. Maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones who don't need pain meds once I'm home.

    What kind of pain meds?

I have an anaphylactic reaction so I avoid most pain meds like the plague! I'm mostly given codine sulfate for pain but I remember it not helping much with my c section pain.

    Just getting started...need advice

Oh ok. At the advice of a firmer teacher who was a Medical Assistant for a long time, I'm going to ask if they can draw some of my own blood so that if I need a transfusion, I will have my own to do it with. If I don't need it I can just donate it or whatever.
  11. New clothes and SHOES!!!! Being comfortable in public in a regular swimsuit, not a swimdress....maybe even in a bikini! Being more active with my son!!!!!!!!! Right now I hate going to the playground or anywhere because I get tired too fast. That's gonna change soon!!!

    Nervous....

So I am to start my 4 week pre-op diet on Tuesday and somehow I have allowed the devil to infiltrate my brain and plant seeds of mental defeat! I'm so freaking nervous that I'm going to screw up and not be able to have the surgery. Somebody please say something to snap me out of this!!
  14. I was thinking today that the last piece I am missing is the $350 program fee and I have no idea how I'm going to get it. So I had planned to email the nutritionist and ask her if I could pay it after the day of the class (Tuesday). About an hour later, my grandmother calls and asks if I had gotten the money for and I told her no. Then she asks, "who do I make the check out to?" (Insert Happy Dance Here!) This is the same grandma who told me that she didn't want me to have the surgery because "you're just gonna fuck it up. you're jus like me, that's what we do, we fuck shit up".....well.....THANK GOD FOR HER ANYHOW!!!!

    Thank God for grandma!

Thanks ladies! Yeah, my grandma is funny. I'm her only grand daughter and there are 5 boys. Growing up I got the short end of the stick (then it was just 2 boys). So I think she is making up for it all now AND I think that she lashed out at me about the surgery at first because she probably wishes she had done it. She's now planning knee replacement #2. But either way I'm winning and I thank God for her still!!
  16. I found them at my local giant.
  17. I bought 2 of these today. Took a SIP of the grape one. Not the best but not the worst either. I'm still going to try the isopure though I've heard good things about the taste.
  18. How do you like it? The smell is a turn off to me. At least with the meat options.
  19. @@bellabloom and @@catdaddy (love that name!) I think this is one of those instances where everyone is different. When I tried to lose weight in the past, specifically on Weight Watchers, the less I ate the less I lost. If I lost at all. The weeks where I ate "normal" I had the biggest numbers. 5-7 pounds lost in a week. @ are you on medication for your thyroid? Have you talked to your nutritionist about how it would affect your progress? If you are otherwise following the program, I think that's a conversation worth having.
  20. I'm not going to miss having NO energy!!! I mean I don't feel like doing anything because I don't have ANY ENERGY!!!! It's quite frustrating!

    Have you tried this broth?

I know nothing about better than bullion. The only broth I've ever had plain was swanson chicken. I've cooked with their veggie broth. It's 15 cals 480 sodium
  22. laurenella82

    Have you tried this broth?

I got it at Giant. It makes 28 cups so I figured $4.50 wasn't too bad.

    Have you tried this broth?

It's beef stock, maltodextrin, sea salt, yeast extract, natural flavors, tapioca starch, salt, vegetable stock (carrot, celery, and onion stocks),beef fat, xanthan gum, natural beef flavor, work juice concentrate, dried beef stock, spices. Who is scared to give up food?

I think that I won't feel what you feel until after surgery. Right now I'm looking forward to not being physically able to eat copious amounts of food. At this point I can eat what I want but I don't want much of anything. My fear is that post op those feelings will be so strong that I could sabotage myself. At the sane time, my consolation is that I'm AWARE of the feelings and I'll probably be able to identify and fix it before it get out of hand.
  25. You are not obligated to give any personal health information. I wouldn't worry about putting it on the form. It's none of their business and it clearly doesn't effect your job performance or they probably wouldn't be hiring you permanently. Your health information is protected so they can't even go behind your back and find out with out serious consequences.
