    Don't Fear the Fill

I only have 2cc's in my band too. The fill was kind of creepy feeling, but really not a big deal. :rolleyes2:

    First Fill-NOT feeling it

I'm feeling a little skeptical about mine too. I have a 10cc band and already had 1cc. He added another 1cc today. I wasn't able to chug my water, but was still able to get it down pretty quickly. They didn't schedule me for another fill though, said it could be two weeks or two months, to just call when I was feeling hunger and my weight loss had stalled.

    First Fill

I get my first fill tomorrow. I am VERY excited. My scale has bounced up and down between 221 and 223 for the last three weeks, plus I'm feeling hungry and fighting snacking so I know it's time. I really hope this helps. I would love to see the scale move, and I'd love to not feel like I'm about to gnaw off my arm from hunger! (I get REALLY frustrated when I feel like I'm starving myself and then still don't see the scale move.)

How Many Last Meals ... ?

    Thank you! :rolleyes2: You're right - a couple of months ago, I would have eaten 7 or 8. :tt1:

Who know, who doesn't, and why???

I've told VERY few people. My real plan was to just tell my husband and a few close friends. Then I mentioned to my closest friend that I was considering it and she gave me the top 175 reasons why this was a bad idea. I decided that I wasn't telling anyone else. I did end up telling one other friend because she was keeping my kids the day of the surgery. I called my parents on the way home from the surgicenter and told them. That was SUPPOSED to be IT. Then I found out my husband had told his mom (and thus, the rest of his family) and that he had also told some friends. I've been REALLY mad about that, it wasn't his to tell, KWIM?

How Many Last Meals ... ?

This is kind of what I'm doing now. Thankfully I really haven't gained weight from it (well, I was up .2 this morning), but I know I'm eating things that I shouldn't. (Example - had a BAD day yesterday and make chocolate chip Cookies last night, then ate two.) I have discovered that I have no swelling left and no restriction. Thankfully my first fill is in a little over a week.

A Little Help for my Dec LBT friends

This is fabulous to know, thank you so much! Thinking of printing it and putting it on my scale. I'm stuck too. Less than two weeks before my first fill.
  13. When no one around knows that you've had this surgery, how do you handle eating out or just eating around other people? I have a dinner to go to next week. I'll be one mo post-op, and two weeks pre first fill, so there aren't any major restrictions on what I can eat, just volume. I'm stressing about it though. I'm a clean your plate kinda girl ... I don't know what's on the menu yet, I'm hoping to find out in advance and do some planning. I can see this same situation coming up a lot though, and want to have some kind of idea as to how to handle it. So what do you do? Make excuses for eating less than people think you should? Try to hide the food? Overeat and pay for it later?
  14. Mine is not so specific. 1/2 cup meals, eat Protein first (2 oz), then veggies, then if there's any room, carbs. I love the Bolthouse farms drinks too! Especially the mocha!! YUM!! Makes me feel like I'm at starbucks. I can't have one in the morning though, too many carbs will send my blood sugar through the roof. I can do them in the afternoon or evening though.
  15. Days 2 and 3 were the worst for me. I started feeling a little better at day 4, and much better at day 5.

    NSV's for the Merry Losers

I have one. I am no longer morbidly obese. WOOHOO~!! Still obese ... but not morbid any longer!
  17. I've got about three weeks until my first fill and I'm starting to feel a little hungry. I think PMS has a lot to do with it because I'm just wanting junk. Hopefully it will pass quickly!!

    Unrealistic Ideals

This is exactly what my doctor addressed with me at the post-op visit this morning. He said it's typical to see a big loss the first couple of weeks and then for it to kind of plateau or even bounce back a little. He said it was fluctuations in the water our bodies hold, and that to please not get stressed out about it. That makes sense to me ... except the not getting stressed about it part. I AM stress. We'll get there though.

    What is your goal?

My first goal is to be in ONEderland by 4/5. That's 22.1 lbs ... I *think* it's doable. I'm not sure about mini goals and dates after that.
  21. Me too, banded 12/17 in TX. I've had two weeks of liquids and I'm still doing mushies now. I had my post-op today and was told I could have small bites of chicken or fish or cheese if I wanted to. I've kind of been doing that already. According to their scales, I've lost 16 since my first visit and 12 since surgery. I'm liking my scale much better. LOL From my highest weight (a couple of weeks before surgery) to now, I've lost 22 lbs. The scale hasn't moved in a couple of days though. My first fill will be 1/29, I'm excited about that, three weeks!! I still haven't been released to exercise other than walking. Still no lifting ... um ... I have a 2 year old ... enough said about that lifting restriction. I am anxious to get to Curves though, hopefully when I go in next time I'll be released for that. I was thinking of going and just skipping a few machines, but it might be easier just to wait and heal the rest of the way.
  22. I waited almost three weeks.

    Feeling Betrayed!

I'm there too. My DH took it upon himself to tell his mother and some of his co-workers. His mother then took it upon herself to fill in the rest of the family. It's bad enough to be the ONLY one there who has EVER struggled with a weight problem, now I get another 20 members of the food police, and their collective disapproval. Gee thanks, hon. And the co-worker he told ... well, he obviously did not give him the memo that it was supposed to be confidential because he keeps coming up to me in public, asking about it. Obviously, I'm still pretty ticked at my husband over this. My plan was to tell him, the friend who was keeping my kids, and my parents, and not even to tell my parents until after the surgery. I had mentioned to one other friend that I was considering it and heard the top 75 reasons why this was a bad idea, so I decided not to tell anyone else.
  25. Where is this found? What does it taste like? I'm really having a hard time getting my Protein in. What happens if I don't get enough?
