Wow at 8 weeks post op, you couldn't pay me to touch a coffee cup. I just started to tolerate it. Mt surgery was Sept 30, 2014. You're doing awesome!!I'm eight weeks out @@JamieLogical so definitely at a stage it should be okay
I'm talking all different kinds. Decaf and caffeinated. Ground and instant. Store bought and from various coffee places. I don't have it strong either - in the UK we tend to use instant coffee more and I don't use Creamer, I use milk (hate coffee creamer) so even though I'm in the US at the minute I mostly have instant coffee with fat free milk from Whole Foods. I also have it pretty milky with no sugar.
I'm drinking regular tea every day - English Breakfast Tea - without any problems (thank god!) so it must just be the acidity of the coffee like you suggested @4MRB4PHOTO.
Sucks. Maybe I'll take a coffee break and try it again in a few weeks!

The day/night before is the most exciting. Yes get some rest if you can. Also grab a few necessities like gax x strips and chap stick, pack them in your bag. Remember that walking eases your discomfort of gas.. the pain will go away(get the pain meds early, it helps)

Congratulations @seashay you are doing great. Same here surgery sept 30. Day 1&2 were my gasy days. U walked as much as I tolerate. Day 3&4 the foods were introduced by teaspoon or less servings. I tolerate greek yogurt grilled salmon grilled catfish grits sweet and mashed potatoes and of course chicken broth or Protein Shakes.

I'm 5 days out as well.. my appetite when I have one is very strong. I can eat only a teaspoon of grits or mashed potatoes/sweet or white I enjoy baked or grilled catfish and salmon. But very small portions. I came home with small diarrhea but no more bowel movements since friday oct 3. I'm not so concerned. I just started back on my shakes and Soups only. Jello or greek yogurt to curb my appetite

How was your surgery???My surgery is tomorrow 1st anyone else?
-
How did your surg go? I had mine the 30th as well and all went well.
My surgery went very well. I am 4 days post op. I still have soreness in my navel area (incision site) the other 4 areas are healing properly. I WALK AS MUCH I CAN and DRINK as much as I can tolerate to stay hydrated(its very easy to become dehydrated). My appetite is slim to NONE. The Protein Shake, Soups, crystal light and diet cranberry juice from the hospital are my new besties. I have tried the mushy foods (I know its early) 1 teaspoon salmon, 1 teaspoon refried Beans, 2teaspoons mashed potatoes... my stomach tolerated them all. My main issue is MY FAMILY MEMBERS are unhealthy eaters which can make you feel like giving up on your own goal to weight loss. Collard greens, bbq ribs, cornbread, mac n cheese are just NOT on the menu and being around these types of food is hard to say "no" unless YOU have prepared yourself.

I feel like new money. Too good to be inside the wallet. Lol. Good morning

Good morning. I am up and packing my bags to head home. :-) tummy remains sore but that's expected. Gasy but controlled.
-
Good morning. Happy Sleeve Day sweetie. I am 2 days post op (sept30) I feel great! Although minor soreness is as expected. I'm up walking and in great spirits. Get pain meds early to keep it under control. Take gas x strips because after the procedure you will be extra gasy. Most of all WALK!!!! You will be just fine.

Ugh, tummy discomfort :-( the tube in my throat was the worst. I completely have no voice. I've been up walking last night. Foley out. I was told I was making progress
