  1. Yes it is! I asked myself the same thing day of surgery and probably for 3 weeks after surgery! I'm now 3 months out and other then my kids and husband it's best thing I've ever done (and I was self pay $$$). I am down 85lbs. Can I eat like I used to? No, and I'm glad! If I took a real look I was miserable fat! I was self conscious. I wasn't enjoying life. Now I'm walking around my house in sports bra and shorts (hubby loves that ) , coaching my daughters tball team, helping hubby with yard work, just daily life is so much better. So much happier.

    Pro's & Con's of gastric sleeve surgery?

Everything Lipstick lady said! I really have no cons! Even being a self payer - the $$$ spent was totally worth it.
  3. Honestly - enjoy the journey. The first two weeks were such an emotional roller coaster. I stressed about having a complication, I had buyers remorse, etc. After a few week out I was able to enjoy the process and still enjoying it and am so glad.

    Social Eating

It hasn't been bad for me either. Many people know I had the surgery but even for the ones who don't, they never commented on the little amount I eat. Plus on my 40 minute lunch break I would take 30 minutes to eat my lunch so it's not like I'm done in 5 minutes. People are too busy with conversations to worry about what I consumed.

    Before and After Pics

Honestly just following my Dr. Orders. I do suck at getting my Protein in which now on summer break I'm going to really try to get better. I also walk a lot. Usually 2-4 miles a day with some days going 8 miles. Good luck, you got this!

To Catheter or Not to Catheter?

I had one and also one with my 3 c-sections. Honestly not bad at all (I got them put in after being knocked out or numbed). Them coming out isn't painful at all either but with that said I hated walking around with it in (just annoying having the bag hang around), so I would opt for it to be taken out asap so I could move around without it.

    Before and After Pics

This isn't my after because I still want to lose about 40-50lbs but so far so happy with my progress and my sleeve. I'm about 11.5 weeks out and am down 76lbs.
  9. Here is a before and during ( I still want to lose about 40-50lbs). As of today I'm down 76lbs and I'm 11.5 weeks out from surgery.

    Food Tolerences

I tried a salad today (lettuce and spinach mixed). I've been craving salad since my surgery (March 10). Unfortunately it was uncomfy to eat so for now it's a no go for me. ????. Will try again in a few weeks. I'm sad, salad is one of my favorite foods, especially in the summer!
  11. Poor thing! Hope she is feeling better!

    Weight loss

Surgery was 3/10 and I'm down 57lbs (17 of that was pre op).
  15. I ordered some of the fuzzy navel and i was able to do them for a week but now I can't stand them. I loved the pure Protein and Premier Protein before surgery (they tasted like milk shakes to me!) but again now post op I can't stand them! I can't wait to get on full foods so I can get my protein in other ways. I am planning on ordering some unflavored protein to add it to my food.
  16. Sleeves 3/10. Down 52lbs. 17 of that 52 was on my 2 week preop.
  17. And I am down 49lbs! I didn't weigh in today so I may have it the 50lb mark. I'm so thrilled! I went and saw some co-workers who I haven't seen in a couple weeks(I'm a substitute teacher) and I had 4 compliments while I was there (only 1 of the 4 knew about surgery). I did end up telling 2 of them that I had surgery and they were very positive about it. It's great motivation to hear such positive comments! My sister saw me today and it's been a week since she has seen me. She was in complete awww and shocked of how much I'm changing from even just a week ago! I just feel so good! I still have another 80lb to go but so far amazing! I have been walking 1-2 miles on treadmill 4-5 days a week and doing arm lifting a couple days a week. I have had serious plantar fasciitis for several years and I have already noticed such an improvement in that! I could cry with tears of joy! I love my sleeve!
  18. Gresau1 hang in there! Sounds like you are doing everything right! Have you measured yourself? I know most say even with the scale not moving they are still losing inches. The scale will start moving soon for you!
  19. Great job ladies!! Isn't it an amazing feeling! Keep up the good work!
