    The beginning of my journey

So far I have been pretty open with a lot of people about my plans for gastric bypass surgery. I have yet to come across anyone who has anything negative to say. I have been lucky to receive support from those whom I have told. If someone was to react negatively I would not care. I put a lot of time and thought into making this decision, and I know it is the right one for me. Therefore, I would not be bothered or influenced by what anyone else has to say.

    October 29th

I am November 3rd so we are all fairly close together. How are you all feeling about the upcoming surgery? I am excited and nervous at the same time.

    November 3rd surgery date

I am probably equally nervous as I am excited. I am excited to make a huge change for the better in my life, but I am nervous about still craving food. I am an emotional eater, and eat when I am stressed, bored, sad... you name it! I have started to try and drink a Protein shake for Breakfast every morning. I am definitely nervous for the 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I think it will be very hard, but also necessary.

I live in NY and am having it done at a hospital here in NY. Have you done anything to prepare for surgery yet?

    Gallbladder removed with RNY

Hi Amy, I am also having RNY with gallbladder removal on 11/3. Have you spoken to your doctor about the issues you are having? If so, what does he say? This could very possibly be something that you will experience temporarily and it will eventually go away. Let's hope so!

    Surgery scheduled!

My surgery is November 3rd and I am also having my gallbladder removed as well as having a hiatal hernia repaired. I started this process almost a year ago and I am so happy to finally be in the home stretch. Best of luck to you in your surgery!

    Insurance Approval... How long?

I was actually just approved yesterday. My surgery date is November 3rd. It took a month, but was worth the wait.
  9. I have type 2 diabetes and I have chosen gastric bypass because it is supposed to be the best WLS for greatly improving or even reversing type 2 diabetes. I would love to hear from post-op diabetics about their experiences with diabetes and gastric bypass surgery.
