Good Luck Andie and Banded4life!! You both will do great and will be on your way to a new adventure. I am so glad I did this procedure and can't wait to start reaping the benefits! Those of you who have had the procedure..did you have any trouble consuming anything thicker than water or broth 4days after your procedure. I've tried to drink protein shakes, tried yogurt smoothies and they both cause me pain. So in the last 4 days I've only had like 300 calories because the broth only has like 5 calories per cup..lol..So I really am hoping that this pases soon...not like my body doesn't have lots to live off of. Oh, and on a more personal note..when were you able to go #2, i feel like I have to go and nothing...probably because there is nothing in my body..I tried taking some child laxative to give it a little push but still nothing...if you don't mind sharing I just want to make sure that this is normal.. :paranoid

I saw a couple of people posting who had shoulder pain. I was told to expect shoulder pain in the left shoulder by my doctor. He said that it is caused by the diaphram. I didn't have pain in my left shoulder I had pain in my right shoulder. i found that walking a lot and putting the heating pad on it really helped. It usually happens when I start slouching because I don't want to stretch my stomach out. But it really helped when I stretched a little bit. Not just stretching the shoulder but stretching my sides too. Take it easy though or you might hurt yourself. Hope it goes away!

    No one in Nov?

Hi all, well it's been two days since my surgery and I feel great!! My surgery was on Monday at 9:00 and today I am finally feeling great!! The day of my surgery I was feeling great when I got home my mom kept me up and walking every hour and doing my sperometer (SP) i had a hard time getting out of bed yesterday morning and I was so bloated I looked like I was pregnant and ready to pop. I walked every hour again even though I thought I would die! I couldn't get comfortable and all I wanted to do was get the gas out. So I decided to quit taking the pain meds and that's when things got moving. Yesterday I got rid of so much gas that when I woke up this morning I was feeling great!! I am so glad that I am feeling better, yesterday when I was in pain I was regretting what I did but I know it's just because of the pain. I have been eating broth about every 3 to 4 hours I tried to drink a protein shake and my stomach hurt a little, I also tried a little apple sauce and I tried jello with no luck. So I am just drinking water and broth for now. I have already lost 7pounds since my surgery day because I am only eating broth. I'm going to try to get some protein shake down because I need the calories. Tomorrow I am going to school and hope it will be a good day. Hope everyone is doing well!! The only place that is sore is my port site and my back because I am a stomach sleeper and I have to sleep on my back, but I am doing wonderful!! Will post again soon!! Take care everyone and good luck!!

Wow, can't believe it is here already! Tomorrow I go to the surgery center at 7am I will be one of the first for the day. I am really excited to get this over and done with..my tummy has not been happy with me for the last few days I vomited the other day and everytime I eat something I have to go back to the bathroom (not vomiting...the other...) I just want to get this done an over with, I am going to my moms house tonight to spend the night she will be taking me to the surgery center tomorrow and bringing me home. I have to go pick up my medications and gas-x and a heating pad because it sounds like it was something people really needed. I hope all goes well and I will post as soon as I feel up to it! :clap2:Congratulations to all of you who just got it done and Good luck to all those following!! Take care and will post again soon!! -Rachel Oh, could anyone tell me how to post a ticker for weight loss in here I created one but don't know how to put it on the postings!
  5. Hi there I am new to the forum, I'm 23 and I am getting banded on Nov. 7 2007. I have been reading some posts and I am shocked at some of the things I have read. My doctor did not share these things with me and i guess maybe I won't find this out until the pre-op appointment, but I read on a couple posts that you are intibated (sp) and that you have to have a urine catheter(sp) put in...YIKES! do they put these things in after you are out?? I have other psychological problems with my womanly parts that I would never let anyone put a tube in me while I am awake!! Do they take it out before you wake up?? OMG I am super scared now!! Someone please help me understand what I just signed up for...I thought they would just put me out like they did when I had my wisdom teeth removed..now I am nervous and unsure.. Any answers would be helpful!!

    No one in Nov?

Hi there! I just joined and I am being banded on Nov 7! I am extremely nervous because I made the decision to get this done while I am going to school because I was told that my recovery time was going to be anywhere from 1day to a week till I felt completely normal and after reading many posts a lot of people are still not feeling well and it's been weeks since they were banded. I am hoping my age and my physical fitness will help me a little in the recovery time. For the last 6 months I have been working out at the gym 3 days a week for at least half an hour. I am due to return to school only 4days after I am banded and hope I will be okay because I have a presentation project that week I am supposed to return!! I wish I had waited to schedule now!! When will you be banded? What have they told you about recovery?

    Any Younger Bansters Here?

Hi there!! I'm 23 and getting banded in a week on Nov 7 2007. I am extremely nervous but so glad that I am doing this now instead of later when I have medical complications. Definiatly don't think that we are giving up too early, I have been fighting this since I was 16 and decided I needed help. :0)
