  1. Hey anyone have any advice on a good workout routine for ultimate muscle building and to maximize my weight loss... I have looked online not much help..I know how to use all the machines at the gym just not in what succession and how often..ect ect

  2. Thanks everyone for the positive feed back I have since my last post been on my best behavior eating wise.. the family issues have seemed to intensity and my dr. And I feel the stress over load has and is what is keeping me at this endless stall. So trying to remove myself from the drama of my family however it has been hard being my brother has targeted me and my family for his insanity to the point I have had him put on jail. So that being said I get up hit the gym and try to put my best foot forward and pray my journey is successful. Thanks again for all your thought and prays. All my love and support.

  3. Hi I'm 38 years old had gastric.bypass September 5th and have only lost 50 lbs. My father passed in November and my world has been in a tail spin siblings acting foolishly and I'm always in the middle. So that's the back story the issue is I can't seem to loose any weight since then I found that my menstrual cycle this month I can't avoid chocolate omg I can't believe I ate chocolate. . Sorry if TMI. I need help getting back on a routine menu ideas snack ideas when I can't turn the cravings off.. anyone HELP.... I do go to the gym 5 days a week but it doesn't seem to be helping.

  4. First I would like to say thank you for being a decent person. Wow what an accomplishment you are to both yourself and your family. I do agree the support group is not a bad idea but my surgeon was a hr plus away as are the meetings and my husband works on the river and is gone a month at a time so I have no support system as far as a sittter for my small children. But I think this group is making a difference. I have spent most of my life embarrassed of my appearance and never been a big feeling sharer being able to be a lil more honest behind a computer screen feels safe and non judgmental to me. My husband support s mt choice for surgery but is not really involved he didn't see the need he loved me as is and he just didn't understand the torment I lived daily. I have been going to the gym daily for about 2weeks I enjoy the me time I would eventually like to get a personal trainer and maybe see better results. What is your opinion or pointers on the gym.

  5. Thanks Jonathan, this has been a very different journey than any other I have taken. Years of dieting, weight loss programs fail to success back to fail. And finally 2 kids later I was officially a failure to my waist line. I decided to push forward into bariatric RNY surgery. Only a few know i had the surgery my husband and two others one being my mom who I just told yesterday I had my surgery in September. I only just shared with my mom because she worries and is overwhelming with opinions and I needed to begin this journey with no doubts. But I felt alone so I let her in. I feel like now that I don't feel sick I unconciously put taste things I shouldn't. :( not alot but a bite especially always preparing foods for my kids. I think what's wrong with me ! I'm 8 weeks out struggling with Protein Shakes but trying to consume only Protein rich foods to offset this. Any thoughts

  6. Almost 9 weeks out I know your not suppose to compare to others but I feel like I'm struggling to get the numbers on the scale to move like I see for people at this point I work out 4 days at least a week, just frustrated any words of wisdom? I've lost app 30 lbs so far and the last two weeks I loose and gain the same lb.

  7. I wasn't really looking I was looking for more of time line success stories for gastric.bypass and the first few post were ok and then all n of a sudden on person posted a bad experience and the whole for changed. It was flooded with anemia and severe Iron issues constant blood transfusions IV iron several times a week mystery pain and illness that Dr's couldn't treat or fix due to lack of absorption. I know if u go looking for trouble you will find it. But once I read like 1,2 posts my curiosity got the best of me. When I researched in the beginning pre op I'll admit I didn't really dig into post op several years down the road, it was more like 2 to 3.

  8. So I'm a month out RNY and I have been all over the Internet reading about success and failed surgeries. Now after a hour of reading horror stories, from death to major complications 10,20.even 5 years down the road I'm petrified! !! Anyone who's a veteran bypass regret there choice?

  9. Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who kept my was a secret. My husband is the only one who knows and although he respected my wishes and told no one he thought my wanting to keep it secret was silly and strange that I was being a weirdo about it. Honestly, it was no one else's business. No pressure to fail or succeed, not being put under a microscope on my journey. It's about me no one else.

  10. I have had the same issues as well my RNY was 95/14 and I have always been on the go constantly doing something and since the surgery I can't seem to get out of my own way. My brain says hey let's go but my body feels out to lunch. I force myself to do the simple things iT seems anymore. I struggle to get in Protein Shakes but I get in 1 a day or else in feel sick if I push more the foods I'm only alowed full liquids now so not much Protein there. Good luck to you.

  11. I had my RNY surgery September 5, 2014 and im am struggling to get liquids down of the 64 oz they require. I know im thirsty so I drink but im only able to swallow a small mouth full before my tummy says enough. then im uncomfortable for a lil bit and can take another drink. Very frustrating. Also having a hard time choking down Protein shakes... they don't taste bad but it literally me 3 hours to get it all down. any ideas?
