That's great! I've notice that my cloths fit differently now too, but I refuse to get new ones until I've lost a bit more weight. I had the cravings, too, one week after surgery, and I didn't cave either.
I'm so glad you're doing well!

I had my drain for 2 weeks after surgery and started driving within one week after surgery. I tried doing things here and there while at home after the first week post op, but I found that I got tired quickly. At my 2 week post op appointment I was able to do every thing I needed to do.

Uh...I'd see another doctor. Stat. He is obviously ignorant about the medical benefits of wls; and the sleeve is the least dramatic of them all, with no re-routing, no foreign bodies in your body, etc.
By the raw numbers, you don't have a lot of weight to lose, but of the conditions you have, losing weight will help with the DM, the sleep apnea, etc. [Do you mind stating your age?]
Ask your bariatric surgeon what cardiologist does he know/respect/work with and go see that person.
PS: I have others, but here...links I received this week from ASMBS about wls and health benefits. Scroll:

Agree 100% with Kamp above. CHANGE YOUR DOCTOR! WLS will cure ALL of your symptoms/ailness above mentioned. What's wrong with him?? Ugh. Don't get discouraged, go see another doctor, stay positive and go ahead with your WLS for your health! Good Luck!

in my opinion you should see a different heart doctor because it sounds like he is just against weight loss surgery. that stuff about chronic diarrhea, Vitamin deficiency can all be prevented if you follow what your surgeon and doctors tell you you will be fine. i had my surgery july 8th and i would never go back and change my decision it has been the best thing to happen for me.

I'm able to eat mashed potatoes and canned meats, as well as eggs and cottage cheese. I was told to make sure I chew up my foods to an applesauce consistancy. I was also told if something doesn't agree, give it a couple of days and try again. Our systems have to learn to readjust.

I am so grateful for this surgery and how it has changed my life! Can't wait for more - for the skin to shrink back more - to be able to be more aggressive in my training too. Loving this lifestyle change!

Boy, that was dramatic. Maybe if you hurry, you can get your old stomach back.
Seriously ... in less than a month post-op you lost 15 pounds.
FYI, my surgery weight 8 weeks ago was 216. One month (30 days) later, I'd lost 10.4 pounds. And I was thrilled. Thrilled! I cannot remember (decades ago?) the last time I lost 10.4 pounds in 30 days.
Also consider this: About a month ago, I gained four pounds in two days. And then two days after that I stepped on the scales and had suddenly lost 8 pounds, for a net loss of four pounds in four days. It's not typical. But it happens.
I would suggest that with the purees you've taken in some salt and maybe also have some Constipation that's causing a temporary weight gain.
Don't go off the deep end every time you get on the scales and see they've gone up or haven't gone down--especially if you're eating/drinking what's recommended by your surgeon.
Give yourself a break and appreciate that you / we will NOT lose our overweight in a straight downward path.
(Also google "three week stall" if you don't know about that. Happens to almost everyone.)

The website says it's a $58 termination fee if you haven't filled out your contact time. I would think with a month to month membership there wouldn't be a fee.
I'm a black card member to PF and love it. It's the only place that don't feel pressured and they have all the weights that I would ever need.

Today I went to the doc for my two week post op appointment. Everyone was pleased with my progress and how well I'm doing. The dietitian was surprised at the amount of Protein I am getting, thanks to Premier Protein shakes.
I also got my drain out after having it for two weeks. It gave me a bit of pain after it was taken out. I'm do I g better now.
I got to eat some mashed potatoes and a small piece of canned chicken. It tasted so good and didn't bother my stomach.
I do feel great and I'm glad I got my surgery.

Cream of wheat/ coco wheats is in my approved liquid diet. I have to thin it really well! I do feel full after I drink it and it takes me a couple hours to do so. I have another week before I see my doc. Good luck tomorrow! Let me know how it goes!

Hi! I'm 6 days post op and feeling terrific. I was able to walk 1/2 mile, flat street, shop a little, and visit with my sister. I haven't lost any weight yet but I think I gained a lot from the IV fluids. I have read this from other folks on the site.
Only a few days left for this month. I hope all you September Surgery patients do as well as I!

I had my surgery this morning at 9:15.am. I was supposed to have gastric bypass, but I received the sleeve. This is as due to my liver being huge. The doctor said that I did everything I was supposed to due to shrink it, but it was just bigger than most he's worked with. He said it would have been too dangerous to do the bypass.
Right now I'm doing ok. I'm groggy and dozing off and on . I'm due to start walking around a bit shortly. I'm in pain and the pain meds seems to be helping some but not entirely.
He said everything went well. Now I'm looking forward to the future.

There aren't plans for the bypass later. I really don't want to have more surgery either. I just have be more dedicated to losing the weight. ????
