  1. @"MamaRita" they told me they found a his talent hernia as well and the most pain I'm feeling is on my left by the port. They kept overnight due to the pain from the hernia. My blood pressure and heart rate went high as well which made them keep me two more days. I home now with an ice pack on my incisions and it feels good. Hope you're doing better.

  2. Just got home from surgery. They found a hernia and corrected it at the same time. Kept me Monday night to monitor my pain. Then my blood pressure and heart rate was so high they kept me two more nights. Home now and feeling so much better in my own bed. Just a little bit of soreness and pain for the incisions. Glad the first hill is over, now I just need to relax, walk and heal.

  3. Insurance just confirmed the approval for my surgery. Blood work and anesthesia clearance tomorrow, surgeon just called to confirm Monday for my surgery.

Excited that this is finally going to happen but also starting to freak a little.

I know fear of the unknown is our biggest enemy and it stops us from doing a lot of things that is the best for us.

I'm just so nervous of what it's going to feel like once I start eating again. So nervous I've lost my appetite for the past two days.lol

I know this was the best decision I've made. I've lost 22 lbs since I had my first consult. I know I can do this just can't stop the jitters.

  4. From what I was told the pre-op diet is done to shrink the liver. I was put on a 2 week diet consisting of 3 Protein Shakes and 2 cups of vegetables a day and Water of course. The first couple of days were hard especially the weekend. I'm on day 9 and it's easier. Since I started the pre-op diet my weight loss has slowed down. Maybe you don't need to lose weight before the surgery but I would definitely ask about the pre-op diet, they say being on it makes the surgery easier and more successful.

  5. Im scheduled for surgery on the 6th and have my pre-op on the 30th. And it comes to find out my paper work hasn't been sent to my insurance yet. It turns out I have to attend one more weight management class before the can file it. So I made them squeeze me in a class for tomorrow. Now I'm just praying my doctor or the insurance company don't drag their feet.

I'm ready now. Doing great on my pre-op diet. But it will really suck to find out I may have to wait, stay on a liquid diet even longer, and will have to change the days I have scheduled off especially when my co-worker who's covering for me has booked a trip to Paris for the end of October.

So truly understand how you feel. But to keep my self motivated I'm using this time to read, research everything. food choices, what to expect after surgery, best type of exercises , etc...

Just try not to stress your self out. We know what stress can make us do. Lol

Stay positive. Our day to begin a new will come.

Best of luck in getting your approval quickly.
