@@Peace Love & Sleeve - Are you doing Protein Shakes of any kind? If all you can do is keep liquids down that might help you get some nourishment, even if you need to dilute them with Water. Even some of the Protein enhanced waters like Propel might help.

Hi. I am 11 days out and I am now having horrific reflux. I woke up with acid in my mouth, nose, and even my ears were burning. I'm taking 40mg of Omeprazole and chewing tums. Doesn't seem to help much. I hope to be put on something stronger.

I'm going to attempt to sleep in my recliner tonight. Not easy, cause I'm a diehard stomach sleeper. I have a lot of crazy thoughts about this not resolving and having to b converted to bypass, but several fellow sleevers have shared their experiences that worked out. So I'm hopeful. Just know u are not alone and most likely (very likely), there is nothing else going on

I don't think you have anything else wrong lots of people have issues in the beginning with holding things down and it just takes time.

Everyone is different on this journey. Focus on getting your Water in and staying hydrated until your stomach settles

You need to sleep a little propped up. Extra pillows that may help the acid stay down.

Are you on a ppi? Omeprazole for instance? That may help

Just stick to liquids until your stomach is better. Don't force yourself to eat food

I didn't have any Protein Shakes about a week after my surgery. I couldn't tolerate the taste of them.

Made me extremely nauseous.

I had Water and added DASANI drops or crystal light. I also can't do syraight water unless I am extremely thirsty and chug it. And since I can't do that!

Also get yourself some Gatorade or g2. You're losing electrolytes and going to become dehydrated.

Make yourself some good chicken Soup and puree it that will give you nutrients while keeping it liquid

I have found cream of wheat and oatmeal to be dense and your stomach needs to work to process it.

So I didn't do those until about a month out

I didn't sleep at all last night. when I lay down I cough. I couldn't keep down cream of wheat again today. I don't know what to do. I am living off only liquids, no Protein and can't keep my Vitamins down

I only had Water and some Jello all day today. .. tonight took my zantac and couldn't keep that or water down

I know im going to get yelled at for this question but, Has anyone been tempted to eat solids sooner than allowed?

How long until everyone felt back to normal? ???

I've been having to sleep sitting up or literally acid and bile will wake me up. I went to pharmacy and bought Zantac. I'm praying this works

No sorry that didn't happen to me but I would think it shouldn't bleed too much. 2nite all I had was a popsicle and Water and I just threw it up with bile I called my dr today and they said just keep up with liquids .... so frustrating

I've been out shopping etc so I'm not just sitting here. I have 2 kids that keep me busy. I am starting to drink more tonight. ..I do beleive I'm on the way of dehydration

@peaceandsleeve how u doing girl me and u had it the same day Jan 26 it has been soo hard for me today I hit a depression mood I just layer down all day I can't seem to like Protein at all idk what to do... but pain wise i. Good now food I feel like I can never do again :/

in other news. ...I don't feel good. After I got sick this morning, Jello, broth and pudding. couple tsps of each. Now i just feel sick. no way on earth can I attempt Protein. Am I the only one feeling this way. Ib hope this part gets better

I rather hear what people are going through, that is the purpose of this forum. obviously for medical issues I go to my physician but there is nothing wrong with coming here for advice and experience! !

@@Peace Love & Sleeve - Are you supposed to be eating that at 10 days out? I was on liquids for 2 weeks before things like cream of wheat were allowed. You tummy is still healing. It may not be ready to handle that. What did your nutritionist recommend? Did they give you a list of foods to eat?[/quote. yes my nutritionalist put me on puree on wed and even before that I could have cream of wheat. I kept down some broth. I called my nurse and she said to try just liquids for a couple days. I rather to be honest.

I had cream of wheat for Breakfast 3tsps and I couldn't keep it down today

yeah I'm only taking 20 mg of omeprazole

What over the counter acid med works the best? I need something different asap

I'm 10 days and still can't keep any Protein Shakes in. .I can't stand them. I tried eggs today and could not keep them down. it's hard for my to think I'll eat normal again someday

I would say a couple days. .. it's all from your surgery.

I am second day post op...my first full day home. I can tolerate the stomach sore Ness but I am have extreme (what I think is) gas pain. Its pain that travels up and through my right breast and usually resulting in a burp. Every sip causes this reaction. It sux. When does this gas reside??

Went for my 1st preop appt today and after 9 days I've lost 15lbs!

that's what I take. .20 mg of omeprazole. I learned not to drink anything about an hour before bed

see Im hoping this gets easier ands and shouldn't even try other things yet. .I can do puree but the thought kills me
