I called my insurance like two days after my paperwork was submitted.

I start my liquid diet Thursday and have to do it for two weeks not looking forward to it but exited the big day is getting closer. -

I met with the surgeon today and finally got a surgery date. October 22 is the big day. I met with the anesthesiologist, got ekg and got blood work done. I have to go back on the first to get a barium swallow/chest x-ray. And I should be all set for surgery. I have so many emotions right now. I'm super excited but I'm also nervous and scared but I'm ready for this journey.

I would say your first step is to call your insurance company and verify that wls is covered. If it is get the requirements from them.

Yes I agree you should call and make sure your plan doesn't have any special requirements. When I called they told me to look at this bulletin http://www.aetna.com/cpb/medical/data/100_199/0157.html

I have Aetna. My main advice is to make sure you do not gain weight during your program. Do you have any specific questions?

My date is Oct. 22nd. Start my pre op diet October 8th. Very excited and nervous at the same time lol.
