That's too funny. Threats work too, I am told! I have a super annoying tooth. Once in a while it really bother me. I have had a consult and the diagnosis is that I should have a root canal. Of course, I don't want to do that unless I have to but I am resigned to the fact. I have scheduled the root canal twice and at least a dozen time nearly have but every single time a day or two after it is all better. I think, it knows and gets scared, don't you? Let's face it your hip is a bit on the sensitive side.

Hi, For me it's about getting to a place in my mind and it requires focus. A pump myself up kind of ritual. I try to plan my day really well or I get out of the house so I don't eat. Twice I have placed dinner on the table and left because I knew I couldn't handle looking at the food. Sometimes I play music really loud because it energizes me. I have a bag of tricks. I do fall of the horse but I get right back on. Good Luck!

Yes, they bear an uncanny resemblance. I think the American Society of Plastic Surgeons is trying to get insurance to pay for excess skin removal after bariatric surgery. Obviously, I am all for it. But of course, hard evidence will be needed such as studies to make this happen. I think it will happen eventually. I also think I saw a Swedish study along those lines. I have read so many studies in the past month. However, I only focused on making a choice regardinging which surgery to go with. The others I only glanced.

Yep, Karen Allen is the trailblazer, she goes first (lol's I have scheduled my pedi as well. The hardest decision - what color to go with?) Next we have AuriP on the 2nd Then superbariatricbabe on the 6th Then a crowd on the 7th, (6 by my count) I actually made a chart. I was getting so confused. I know, I'm special that way. If I forgot anyone please let me know!

I understand much better now. The god news is 20 mil should allow drinks through nicely. I was told the opening at first is the size of a dime because it is swollen, as it heals it will be closer to a nickel. Hopefully this endoscopy will hold. Or at least not amount to only 1 mil progress. I do agree that it is a bit odd that you get to see this other doctor. I also think it's odd that one doctor pushes for Lapband and the other for bypass. I know I may just be paranoid but it almost sounds like the first one is only qualified to do Lapband and that's why he pushes it and does the endoscopies in the practice. Both easier procedures. If you end up back to square one, at some point you may want to consider a second opinion. The silver lining at this point is you are so very close to the 200 Lb mark. Most people take 6 months to get there. Way to be an overachiever! Lol

I really don't get it. Why do people feel like they can comment on your weight like it's a topic for discussion. I is so rude. It's almost like telling a cancer patient he/she should stop doing so many chemo treatments. HELLO obesity is a desease. This is the cure for us. If it is your best friend, sister or mother, perhaps they can comment but only if you ask. Every time I went on a diet my mother would always say not to take it too far or I would get wrinkles. HELLO, wrinkles, really? I am 263 lbs do you not see?

Get some rest, you so deserve it. What a battle. If I understand correctly the first endoscopy only stretched the opening from the stomach into intestines by a millimeter? That's a lot of effort for such small gain, no? Isn't the opening supposed to be the size of a dime? Hang in there, this too shall pass!

My surgeon told me, after a few months to a year, I could take NSAIDS once in a while as long as I also added a Prilosec anti-acid. The reason you shouldn't take them is because they can lead to ulcers. I wonder if there are any coated enough to allow passage through the stomach without dissolving. Also, you can take narcotic painkillers anytime, in moderation of course. I am glad your children were okay with your choice. Mine are 13, 16 and 22. One is away in College and I fear she will be worried and not keep her focus on school. The boys, they too will be "oh, okay" as well. I think, I fear they will discuss it with friends and family and I am not ready to handle the deluge of friendly attention. It's almost like I would rather get attention from success rather then everyone worrying about me. I am lucky that I have great friends but I really don't need a lot of meals being brought over and phone calls checking up on me. I so understand your "surgery by popular vote" concern. My thoughts exactly.
