    Bailey Bariatrics in Owasso

I really like him, he answered any and all questions I had, didn't ever seemed rushed with me. I have my two month follow up appt. with him tomorrow. Dr Kirk is a little too talkative for me, I had a large co pay and I didn't see the need to see him 2-3 times before surgery just to hear him talk about himself or non surgical issues and have to pay the fee for that. Wasn't fond of Dr. Worley, the pulmonologist either because he took so long to read my sleep study results and get the cpap ordered because you have to have two weeks of downloadable results from cpap machine before surgery.

    Bailey Bariatrics in Owasso

I had my surgery sept. 23rd at Bailey, Dr. Varnell was my surgeon.
  3. I had to be 6 weeks without a cigarette, was given nicotine test 2 weeks before my surgery days, he would have put my surgery off if it came back positive.
  4. Was told to use a meat tenderizer mixed with water, sip on that, to help with food getting stuck, did it before and it helped me.

    Smoking....

My dr. Did a nicotine test on me because I told them I was a social smoker. Said I had to be 6 weeks no smoking to have the surgery. My nicotine test came out neg. So I was good to go.
  6. Had a 3 week and 6 week stall, finally broke at the start of 7th week. I'm losing avg of 4 lbs a week, ill take it.

    I never feel full...

7 weeks out, do not get the same "full" feeling as before. I get the hiccups when I'm full and I may feel full in my throat. Haven't got sick yet or felt dumping or sliming, just uncomfortable if try to eat too much.

Money out of pocket day of procedure

I have bcbs individual deductible 2800 then they start paying 80% until I hit 4800, then they pay 100% so basically I've pd 4800 for my surgery, but worth it.

post op time off from work

I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work at my office job the next Monday, working about 5 hours a day, was pretty tired from it though.
  10. Don't get discouraged! I had my surgery about the same time as you, 5 weeks tomorrow and I've lost 20lbs post op, about 4 lbs a week, so we are not that far off from each other. We are going to have good days/weeks and bad days/weeks. Seems like when I'm stuck in a stall, I consume more protien, water and calories to get it started again. I usually eat about 700 to 900 calories a day. Hang in there!
  11. Im a month out and total of 31lbs lost but 14 of it was pre op. I was wearing 4x and now a comfortable 3x in shirts, even could fit a 2x but not loose like I like yet.
  12. Don't beat yourself up if you eat something you shouldn't, jump right back on the wagon. Remind yourself why you chose this surgery and the progress you've made.
  13. Well I think I feel real hunger not head hunger because my stomach is growling! Are you eating the bread and all when you say you eat 2 thin burgers? I haven't had any bread yet or a burger.

    Feeling Guilty 4 days out

Yes I felt hungry all the time on liquids, and had no problems getting yogurts, protein shakes , water down, can pretty much drink them normal if I wanted to, I have to constantly remember to drink slow and eat slow. I do feel restriction now that I'm on foods but I still feeI I can eat too much compared to others.

    Full sensation

I haven't felt "tummy full" yet.I stop eating when I feel full in my throat, I guess that's what you would call it, feels like food just sits in my throat.
  16. I wore my binder for two weeks. It helped a lot. It was easier to get food/drinks down with binder on..if I didn't have binder on it seemed my stomach "talked"more, with gas, burps, noises.
  17. Yes they told me I could the next day after surgery.
  18. I still have two shakes a day for protein.I mainly eat tuna with mayo, and refried beans with cheese. I have had everything you mentioned. I can eat the whole can of tuna at one sitting.ill be 4 weeks tomorrow.

    Hello!

I was sleeved on 9/23 on a Tuesday, went home Wednesday, had a business apt. Friday that I really couldn't miss. I was fine, and went back to work the next Monday.. but everyones body heals differently. One hour should be ok for you.
  20. Sleeved 9/23 pre-op I was 300, surgery day I was 286, am at 274 today. We seem to be about the same pace, I'm happy with the progress knowing it won't ever be coming back!!
  21. I am 8 days post op and I was starting to think the Dr. didn't remove much of my stomach. I feel like I can eat (drink) to much too. To test myself, today I had 4 ounces of tomato soup, no problem at all getting it down, I could even drink water after, so I ate another 4 ounces of soup with no problem. 30 minutes later I had a protein shake. I hope this changes a bit when I can start eating real food. I am not getting "IM full Stop feeling yet".
