I am almost 6 weeks post op and now need my gallbladder removed. Having it done next Friday and wanted to get input on how the recovery is?

I have been on the soft diet phase for about a week now and am trying to get in more meat/fish and no matter what I do I cannot tolerate chicken, tuna, or turkey. My NUT suggested white fish but when I bake them (tilapia, cod) they are too dry. Any ideas on sauces or other ways to cook fish to make it easier to eat?

I personally like my ninja blender I got it on sale for less than $100

I too had thought of the sleeve but because I had GERD pre op I was told RNY was best

I have lost about 60 pounds total before and after surgery. I was really thinking the same why am I not going down sizes more? But like another poster said I think before my clothes "fit" aka I squeezed into them but I am now finally going down I was a 24 before and now finally can fit in a 20 comfortably. It really depends on where you lose the weight too.

I am a little over 3 weeks post bypass and am having severe nausea to the point of looking at Protein Shakes and dry heaving. My dr is well aware of this issue and I had blood work drawn today- no results yet. My question is I cannot handle any taste of Protein Powder and I have read that GENEPRO can be mixed into anything and is truly tasteless so I'm wondering if anyone has actually tried it and how "tasteless" it is. Thanks!

Maybe TMI but I did have bowel movements at 1 week granted they were liquid themselves. My surgeon is a fan of milk of mag if constipated so maybe check and see if that's ok for you

When starting my journey and I met with my surgeon she told me I would be off 6-8 weeks because my job is very physically demanding and I work very long shifts with minimal breaks. When they filled out my short term disability paperwork they wrote to be off 4 weeks and said that they never told me 6-8 weeks. Well I am supposed to go to my surgeon's nurse appt on Monday which will be 4 weeks post op and she said she will clear me for work then because, "no one ever takes more than 4 weeks." I am still having issues with severe nausea/energy/etc and cannot really imagine going back to work next week. My question is can they really say that I am ok to return to work when I legitimately feel like I can't? My job is more than supportive and I can take as long as I need off and cannot return as light duty or restricted.

I brought slippers, pajama bottoms, Chapstick, and a huge help was biotene dry mouth wash- my mouth was so dry for the first few days. I also brought my own soap Shampoo etc but that isn't necessary

I've heard of the dreaded 3 week post op stall but I am 15 days post op and have been at the same weight for about the past 5 days. I lost 30 lbs preop and 20 post op so far. Is it normal to stall this early after surgery?

My paperwork says no carbonation for 4-6 weeks post op. Doesn't give a reason why to avoid though

My surgeon recommended the danon Greek light and fit. They have 12 gm of Protein and are awesome! My favorites are the cherry chocolate and strawberry cheesecake

Today I bought a case of Premier Protein rtd vanilla shakes and they are a little too sweet for my liking. I had been drinking eas carb control rtd vanilla but they only had 17 gm of Protein. Has anyone tried the premier chocolate or strawberry drinks? Just figured I would ask before buying another case

This may be a dumb question but today I am 1 week post op and my dr advanced me from Clear Liquids to puréed. Now my question is if I have a Protein Shake is it better to wait the 30-60 minutes after eating. I do feel full after my shake so I am just worried that I would feel sick drinking Water immediately after. Any help would be great thanks!

I have one and love it. My surgery is Monday so I'm not sure what I will tolerate post op but I made everything in it fish, chicken, steamed vegetables

Hello! I am semi new to these boards but I'm having an issue. I am having surgery Monday 9/8 and started my clear liquid diet yesterday. Yesterday went great no issues but today I woke up with abdominal pain, nausea, and severe weakness. Is this normal???? Every time I drink something I feel more nauseated and am worried about getting dehydrated. I just am unsure if this is from not eating and only having Clear Liquids or something else. Any input would be awesome thanks!

My surgery is September 8th and I start my pre op diet tomorrow which is only clear liquids. I am actually more nervous about having only clear liquids for the next 5 days vs the actual surgery!

I had bypass 9/8/14 and am now having my gallbladder out on Friday. I wish they would have just taken it out when I had my bypass but that wasn't even an option.
