  1. I'm a decision patient. I made goal with band then had 2 kids and developed problems. I am 3 months out with sleeve and have no regrets. I'm down 40lbs and losing slowly but steadily. No awful band stuck feeling. Can tolerate everything.
  2. Well I went through this once before and gained it back (band) so I do worry. I worry about not losing enough this time and also gaining it back. I hope I never stop worrying.

    Upset belly

Definitely reflux. Ask your doctor for a different presceiption. Nexium worked for me. Also don't eat before bed

    Was I just misinformed?

That's pretty much what I was told. However the expectation was that "whatever I want" would be healthy nutritious food choices. My program has never emphasized low carb and I personally have never subscribed to low carb. However I do look at the source of the carbs and again, lean more towards, healthy carbs from plant based sources and not refined and overly processed carbs. As for the 6 week period, I think that may be the expected healing time if there are no complications early on. The reality is that you will need to watch what you eat forever. This doesn't mean that once you reach your goal you need to ban certain foods but you will need to watch what you eat. Obesity is a lifelong disease and there is no cure. You can maintain a normal weight but will need to be vigilant and watch for gain and adjust your diet accordingly. I am only 3 1/2 months out but I have really enjoyed cooking healthy food for my family and I hope this will stick when I'm at goal b
  5. Does anyone know the best way for me to email my food logs from my fitness pal to my nutritionist? She wants about a week…. I usually recopy things but that is such a pain so I was wondering if there is a better way. Thanks!

    I think I'm abnormal

I just started knitting again at night. Really helps keep my hands busy.
  8. @cowgirlljane you are such an inspiration to me! I am a horse person too and a revision patient.

    Halloween Challenge!

219.8 this morning. Means 40lbs down since surgery 3 months ago. Very happy.

    Last 10 pounds

Yes absolutely. When I got to goal last time the last 10lbs were the most dramatic change in my face and overall sleekness. I also want to add if you are 10lbs from goal you probably aren't appreciating your own progress yet. It takes a while for the head to catch up to the outside.
  11. Yay! Congratulations! You were a week before me. I'm coming up on 40lbs. 3 months today.

    Lap Band to sleeve

I had to wait and it isn't so bad! You want the safest thing. Also there is a better chance at getting a properly shaped sleeve in 2 steps. Best of luck!

    Am I at goal?

I think you look great! You are almost the exact height and weight I was in 2008 when I lost with my lap band. I think people calling you skinny are either jealous or not used to seeing you like this. You look normal and healthy I would t even say "skinny" because to me that means honey/ugly/underweight. Congratulations.
  14. Welcome! I am also band to sleeve. Almost 40lbs down at almost 3 months. I was also allowed purees at 1 week and solids phasing in at 3 weeks. Works out fine for me now. Love the sleeve over the band!
  15. Just order something that is protein based and eat the protein part of the dish. I usually ask for double veg. Scrambled eggs or omelet for breakfast. You can bring a sandwich to tailgate and just eat meat. I do these things often and believe me nobody will notice. Particularly after a drink or two.

    No protein powders?!?

I was encouraged to stop using shakes as soon as possible. I was also told that I needed to drink them until I was able to get protein from " real food". I hated them and only drank one per day. Within a few weeks I was getting 60 grams from food and stopped altogether at one month.

I have steak at least once a week starting at 6 weeks.

  19. The reality is the harm we do to our bodies at this weight doesn't give us the luxury of waiting until something better comes along. My mother is in end stage renal disease (diabetes) and my father had a double knee replacement.

    The last supper...

I had a hard time enjoying food once I made the decision to do this "again". I was so pissed that my band needed to be replaced. In retrospect I wish I'd had a big bowl of pasta or rice. Those are the only things I haven't been able to eat. Maybe a burger ON a bun. No room for that now. Maybe white bread since that is a problem too. Other than that I can eat everything well in small portions. My experience is that I haven't missed anything or felt deprived at 3 months out. Maybe that will change for me. Maybe it's because I can eat way more textures than I could with the lap band. In any case enjoy what you want for a night!
  21. I'm at about 9-10lbs per month and I don't consider it slow.

This sounds completely average. You are on-track.
