  1. @@twittymilk are you a revision? Pomp did my first surgery and is doing my revision this summer. He is great!
  2. My surgeon (one of the top) recommended the sleeve for me. Brief story : I was banded in 2007 and very successful 100% loss of excessive weight. 8 years and 2 kids later the band no longer working and hard to adjust, esophagus mildly enlarged but returns to normal with unfill. I love the sound of the sleeve but worry when I read that bypass is a better revision from band. Do not want to make the wrong choice! I trust my surgeon who knows my history. What do you all think? Also important- I regained most of the weight!
  3. Hi Band07 - can you elaborate? How does it not work for you? It seems like you are quite close to goal (30lbs) what was your loss with Band, why was it removed and how long have you had the sleeve? Why don't you think it is working? Thanks!
  4. I am just wondering why bypass is sometimes recommended.
  5. Does anyone know the process? Do I need to jump through all the hoops? I was very successful and lost 100% of weight I needed with band before it failed after 2 kids. I regained most of it. Anyone have similar situation?
  6. Did you look at cornell weight loss surgery? Drs pomp and Dakin are both good.
  7. Has anyone had the band revised to a sleeve in one surgery? I am considering this but am worried about recovery from 2 surgeries with young kids at home.
  8. Has anyone successfully "fixed" a mildly dilated esophagus? My quick story - banded in 2007 - lost over 100 lbs easily (100% of excess). 2 years later pregnant with my first first and gained a ton when fill removed, lost 1/2 within one year so at this point total weight loss about 60lbs from surgery date. Got preg with second gained again but not as much but in the 2 years following had a very hard time getting my restriction back. I was diagnosed with minor dilation of the esophagus about 6 months ago. I had fill removed and just had an upper GI and was told by the radiologist that my estophogus is back to normal. My questions is has anyone successfully lost after having this complication?

    Recovery from dilated estophugus

Thanks for your response. This particular complication causes a lack of restriction because food goes up into the enlarged estopogus. I have read from studies that this is hard to fix once it has dilated one time, it can go back but tends to enlarge easily.
