    I have a complaint!

I can handle misspelled words and such but when someone uses NO punctuation and the sentences keeping going it drives me NUTS!

    Freaking apple!

Awwww, I'm sorry you are having apple issues! That is one food that I honestly can say I have to stay away from! It happens to me everytime even if I peel off the skin. I'm glad I have no diabetes issues, the hubby does and it sucks! Can't you take one of those chewable tablet things they sell at the drug stores? They probably taste like shit but will at least go down. Good luck!!! Kel
  3. Why is it an adult site? I don't think I've ever seen anything bad on there....
  4. I have been contemplating the same thing since I found out we are going to my In-laws for the 4th of July to a reunion! None of them know I had this done and none of them ever will know if I can help it! That family would send out a mass email and burn up the phone lines to let everyone know I was banded! It would be a race to see who could tell who first!!! I think I'm going to have to try to avoid sit down type meals which shouldn't be to hard. Mostly everyone is camping out at the lake so it'll a free for all for the most part I would think. If they ask how I lost it I will say low carb and a less stressful job since I just changed jobs in December! Think it'll work? :confused2:

My weight loss is hurting my sister

My sister has always been a skinny b#$%* - damn her!:frown: LOL... She lives in South Carolina, I haven't seen her in over a year but I'm anxious to see what she has to say when she sees me next. Granted she's 26 and will always look better than I do but it will be nice to at least maybe fit in one of her socks one day!!!
  6. I'm not quite there yet to say if it makes a difference or not. I haven't been 'skinny' since my teens and then I really didn't pay attention. I will say that when I see someone who is heavy now I seem to think to myself "boy would a band do them good". I don't do it consciously it just kinda comes to me. Don't know if that makes me 'bad' for thinking that or any better than the skinny people out there??? I certainly don't mean it maliciously, I just know how much it helped me. Any thoughts? Kel

    Liquid Diet = Stupid!! Why????

I think it depends on the doctor because I only had to do it 48hrs prior to surgery just to make sure my stomach was empty.

OMG how did you all decide

I did not go for the bypass because everyone I've seen that has had it looks so sickly and I didn't want my insides permanently changed! My mom had one and she throws up all the time and my aunt had to have her whole stomach removed and her intestines routed to her esophogus - so that wasn't even a option in my mind! There is a girl that I worked with that had a bypass done 6mo after I had my band. To date she has lost alot more weight than I have and unfortunately people look at me like I should be like her. No matter how I try to explain that the weightloss with banding is slower (which is good), I think they think of me as a failure at times. Well - I don't work there anymore and I stopped by there last week because I was going to lunch with my friend. They haven't seen me since December and I had a good fill in October and have lost quite a bit! It was nice to hear the comments and make them eat their words from before! :Dancing_wub:

i am staying on plan today because ...

Because I've lost 9lbs in the past week and it feels GREAT!!!! :Dancing_wub:  :w00t:
  11. I guess mine happened so fast I didn't have time to really think about it. My insurance was a piece of cake which surprises me because of all the problems I hear that people have with United Healthcare! I got my approval quick - scheduled my surgery for like 3 weeks after the approval date. They called me on a Thursday and said they had a cancellation for Tuesday of the following week and did I want it. I figured no sense in prolonging it so I did it. After I said yes I kinda thought to myself "what did I do"? All worked out good and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Hang in there - all things happen for a reason! Kel
  12. I hardly lost any weight until my 3rd fill Oct 07. That certainly did the trick! I have lost 9 lbs this week :purplebananna: alone and it's not cause I'm starving myself either! I'm holding my breath though cause I know I'll plateau here soon but I'm enjoying the ride while I can! My goal is to be under 200 by the 4th of July and I think I have a darn good shot at it! This is the first goal I have ever set for myself other than my goal weight! I think the band is an awesome tool but you have to have the fills or it isn't going to work! Good luck! Kel

    Why are YOU Fat?

Isn't it amazing how our parents think they help but they cause damage that takes years and years to get past? I have a daughter who is 16, she is a little overweight, but this kid can do physical activity that someone skinnier can't keep up with. She competed gymnastics, she's on a dance competition team, captain of the HS cheer squad, HS basketball, rides horses - you name it she does it. I put my kids in sports as soon as they were old enough to be in them. I didn't make them do something they didn't want to do, I let them choose so they enjoyed it. I made a point to start them out active in their lives because obesity runs in my family. I can't name one person on my dad or my mom's side of the family who are thin. I didn't want them to get teased in school and have something like that say with them the rest of their lives like I did. My son is 18, he's a bean pole no matter how much that boy eats!! I think when I had him he took all my motabilism with him! :purplebananna: I never would take food from them - if we all can't eat right then why should just one? God knows it wouldn't hurt any of us to eat better! Well, that's my morning input - time to get my butt to work! Kel

    Clothing sizes

The thing that I'm having a hard time with is my shirts falling off my shoulders showing my bra straps! If I get them smaller they are very uncomfortable/tight in my arms! Damn arms! :cursing:

Uncrushable Pills...What do you do ?

I've never had a problem swallowing pills. As a matter of fact, I got these "Silica Complex" vitamin thingys in the mail yesterday and they are huge! Longer than an 800 mg Motrin but about as thick. I was a little concerned but it went down with no problem. I bought them because they are suppose to help with your hair, nails and skin and I can use any help I can get right about now!

    Hello from Upper Michigan

I know where that is. Have friends that go up to Ironwood/Hurley area to go 4-wheeling. Beautiful up there! Sorry I can't help with anyone in your area as far as doctors, but I wish you the best of luck! You certainly won't regret it! =P

    Hello from Upper Michigan

Hello - where are you at in the UP?
  20. I don't get to much of the "can you eat that" question but I do get compared quite often to two women that I work with that got bypasses. I didn't get a 'good' fill until 1Oct07, one that did the trick, so I have been losing very slow. I have lost more weight in the past 6mo than I have since I was banded due to my last fill. I'm hoping to be in "Onederland" by July!!!
  21. Kelgirl68

    I am ONEDER-WOMAN!!!!!

Great job!!!!! I'm hoping to be there myself by July!!!

Yes, I could take vitamins or Tylenol but I didn't try the Bactrim until months later when I got a UTI.
