  1. i was wondering what HGC is and do you know if its safe with high blood pressure,

i googled it to see if i can get it here in australia but cant find any health cautions with it

HCG is safe for people with HBP, however, they arn't miracle drops, you HAVE HAVE HAVE HAVE to follow the diet that goes with it, which is a 500 calorie a day diet. I never tried it because I figured if i could follow a strict diet, I wouldn't be have ever had to get the band.

  2. Hello!!! smile.gif

I'm going to send an email to members that haven't been around in a while with a link to this thread. Would be great to hear from some of our old timers. I'm sure all of us are wondering how everyone is doing and where we're all holding in life as well as with our Bands.

Please click on WATCH TOPIC at the top of this thread, in order to receive an email when s/o responds. We're planning to automate this feature shortly.

I'd really love to get that sense of community and comradery back on LBT. Any suggestions from some old timers please ?

Thanks for the email Alex, It's been a LOOOOOOONG time since I have been on here. I had my surgery 8/2005. I was 238lbs and am now between 120-125lbs :) I can't believe how amazingly happy I am. The lapband is the best thing I ever did for myself.

  3. I have found the more weight i lose, the more active i feel like being. I don't "exercise" I participate in "physical activities that i enjoy" such as horseback riding, walking nature trails, etc

The band helped get weight off quickly so that i felt like being more active, the less my knees and back hurt, the more active i became, the more weight i lost, and it sort of just snowballs...the lapband gives you that kick start.

  4. :) :)

Ok so i didn't make my goal of being 160 by today, I was however only 8lbs short of that goal, so i know its coming soon! I've busted my butt exercising the past couple days and lost 2lbs (I guess i know what i need to do more of right) and now down to 168lbs! I've lost a total of 70lbs in a year. My doctor said to expect to lose 52lbs the first year so atleast i have gone past expectations!! I've gone from a size 22-24 to a size 14! 3x to a XL/L .

    So here are my pictures!!

  5. not sure if this is a real NSV but, I signed up for horseback riding lessons, because after years and years I was no longer afraid the horse was going to try to buck me off because i was too fat.

  6. no loss this week. I'm getting sooo frustrated. I'm never going to lose 11 lbs in 17 days to make my mini goal. I've lost 60% of my weight and i know the lapband is supposed to do 60-80% so i'm wondering if this is it for me. I'm going to try to pump things up at the gym and drink more Water etc, but i'm getting very discouraged.

  7. I didn't have to diet before my surgery, and i was banded here in the US. I had absolutely NO gas after surgery. I was up and moving around and off pain meds that night. The only thing they told me was no food/drinks after 10'clock that night.

To everyone having Surgery today... GOOD LUCK and happy banding!
