1. Hello,

I'm looking for a buddy/mentor to help me navigate through this process. I'm currently 4 years post op and I've only lost 50 pounds. I've been adjusted many times however my weight loss has stalled. I'm a 34 year old married male with one son and another on the way. I realize the band is a "round peg" and I'm the "square hole." I need help hammering in the peg.

After my surgery the follow up by my surgical team was almost nonexistent. I received no meal planning guides nor any one on one consults so I have not changed my eating habits or eating behavior. I'm afraid of failing.

I'm looking for someone who can provide direction and encouragement.

    Thanks,

    Dan

  2. So I bought a jug of this stuff and it doesn't taste all that bad but I was reading the lable and it specificly states that it should not be used for weight loss.

I've read many posts where people have used this product and have had good success. Should I not be using it?

    Thanks...

    Dan

  3. So I'm hooked on the Starbucks carmel frap. Since being banded however I've switched to the lite version that they offer. Is this just a bad choice or what? For the lite frap here is the nutritional info:

  4. Hi Everyone,

I too was banded on the 15th. Overall I'm feeling very well. I only took the pain meds while I was overnight in the hospital. I have them at hand just in case though.

Anyone experiencing and troubles with crushing up their meds? I swear I have one pill that has a coating or something. I also, do not look forward to taking them all in the morning. How do you guys do it? All at once?

  5. I'm in the process of going through all my preop. testing and I'm trying to think of a way to hide the fact that I'm getting a Lap Band from my work. I work with all women and they can be very nosey. Plus this is something I want to keep between me and my family.

Has anyone felt the same way? How did you handle your coworkers? How did you explain a week off of work?

    Thanks...

  6. I have my first appointment with my surgeon tomorrow and I don't know exactly what to ask him. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

  7. I will also be getting banded through the Kane Center out of Alexian Brothers. I have my initial appointment with Dr. Kane Jr. on Jan. 15th. Even though I had to schedule my appointment a month after the seminar, they got back to me within a week to let me know what portion of the surgery my insurance would pay. So far I've been very impressed with their team.

  8. First I want to say I think this forum is absolutely awesome. I had no idea there were so many people out there who have been banded. I just had my first child Matthew 3 months ago. I've been considering getting banded for some time but since Matt was born I've put my efforts into high gear. I've signed up to attend a seminar in my area. My problem is convincing my wife that this is a good idea. My BMI is currently 53 and I don't see many other options. Any ideas??
