  1. Hope you are feeling better! I don't know what the acronym stands for but believe PPI is an acid blocker like Pepcid like my doctor prescribed for me to take for 6 months. So far it's worked!
  2. Muppie, get your fears worked out before you have surgery. Take your time with this decision and that will lessen the panic. Educate yourself and refuse to be led by your fear. Read testimonials on here good and bad. Pray about it and have faith in your decision one way or the other.
  3. I can't lie, its a sacrifice and you need to ask yourself all of those things. Sit down and " count the cost" and ask yourself what is most important. Are there other alternatives? What's the better plan for you at this stage in your life? Like someone said, if you decide to move ahead, talk over your issues with I your psychologist. Most of us had to. Best wishes on your quality decision!
  4. I have found that my decisions in life go more smoothly the fewer people I tell. More peace. More focus.
  5. Thank you guys so much! This is a relief. It helps to know what I am doing! It is a lot to keep up with and gets overwhelming at times. I appreciate all of you for responding!
  6. Which is better? I am almost 4 weeks out and have discarded shakes for yogurts, cottage cheese and meats. Will this slow my weight loss? Already frustrated as it is. Hate shakes but may have to go back.
  7. Yes, I lost about 10 lbs the week after surgery that I had on on February 9 and have fluctuated 4 ponds since then. I don't know what this is. I'm trying not to be discouraged. I was stalling at 1 week post op not 3! I do experience non scale victories in my clothes becoming big but I need to see the scales moving! I'm pressing on anyway.
  8. Oatmeal girl, thank you so much for your post. I needed all of your gentle admonishment and encouragement. Gonna do better with my protein and water!
  9. Man, what a bummer. I hope somehow this can be rectified and you get some peace before surgery. Don't internalize and make this about your self worth. This was on the doctor and the credibility of his staff and practice.
  10. I remember telling the guy I wasn't sleepy at all. Then I woke up in recovery.
  11. I'm still learning also.. so just measuring my food until I know for myself.
  12. Congratulations on your success and thx for sharing your journey!
  13. It's a full liquid so should be okay and a nice break from shakes! I was able to drink it then. Congrats on your progress!
  14. I'm glad u learned who your true friends are. Thank God for your beautiful family that u r moving away with! The others were just seasonal in your life.
  15. Now more than ever, focus on yourself and getting better. File those comments to look at later and evaluate when you are healed. Don't internalize his comments so u won't delay your progress. You are moving ahead, with or without him! Stay focused.
  16. Thx for thinking of us! You look great and like your daughter's sister!
  17. Don't know how to delete so plz ignore my post. I was thinking of another doctor. I've heard no negatives on Alvarez.
  18. I believe there is another thread on here about him. Some great and not so good results. Research him carefully.
  19. Had spinach dip with no problem at all. Tried a rice and broccoli casserole today which was really creamy. No issues, Ate about half a cup of each with a very soft consistency.
  20. Break your meals up if u haven't already. Don't eat after 7.
  21. Josiedebanded, don't cheat. You don't need leaks or complications. Not sure what procedure u had but follow the plan! U can do it!
  22. My friends mom always served food to hubby (and self) on hot plates.nwith lotsa tlc she just let the plate heat up in microwave or oven before putting food on it so it stayed hot. Maybe worth a try! sidebar: she stayed married over 60 years!
  23. Not sure what phase you're in but you can get some clear protein powder and put it in applesauce. That helps me get it down. Somebody suggested putting it in potato soup.
  24. Yes. I incorporated creamed soups in the full liquid phase to help curb the sweetness. I wasn't used to all the artificial sweeteners. My doctor approved the gummy multivitamin for women from Target so that helps. Other vitamins are so small I can just take them without chewing.
  25. 2 weeks out and much better today! I had to slow down.
