  1. @@tacycakes I don't think the Catheter is as much pain as it is this weird sensation. (I've had two c-sections). I'm 5'4 started at 303lbs in May. I'm at 286.4 now did a semi liquid diet last week with maybe a total of four solid meals last week. Tomorrow is the start of my official pre-op liquid diet. I used this week to see what Protein Drinks worked bet for me. attachicon.gif ImageUploadedByBariatricPal1412563537.589204.jpgbut I also ordered the GENEPRO. This a vegan Protein Meal Replacement made from sprouted brown rice and others. If you let it sit for a bit it gets this gloopy cream of wheat consistency which I actually prefer.

My surgery is on Columbus Day, the 13th. So close. I have average anxiety. I just feel like I need to have everything cleaned up before it. I've been quite fatalistic as of late.

That is so funny... I go in tomorrow and I have been cleaning, cleaning and cleaning.

  2. Started my liquids this morning.

Yummy Recipe if you're looking for one!

"Orange Julius!" It's 1 cup of OJ, 1 scoop of vanillia Protein mix and a packet of sweenter. (whatever kind...I used Stevia) a few ice cubes, and blend. SO yummy!!!

I was a bit up on the scale this morning, but I'm sure some of it is TOM. 249

You got this!!! Today is my last day of liquids with my pre-op stomach. Keep your eye on the prize. Nothing tastes as good as being healthy is going to feel!!!!

  3. On my 6 month I just could not gain 1 pound. Started 6 month Jan. 2014. Ended July 2014. But it keeps going because then I went to surgeon consult (July 2014) and could not gain even 1 pound until pre op appt. (Sept. 23rd). Now as long as I stick to pre op liquid diet ( have now for 12 days) no way to gain weight. (Have lost over 15). I have one more weigh in on the day of surgery. Surgery Oct. 7th.

  4. Oct 7th also. No liquid diet required just a bowel prep same as for colonscopy. Did start a liquid diet last week but really messed up alot. So this week is serious. During the day no problem, but getting dinner for the kids are crazy. They are young and want me to eat the same thing as them, but this will help prepare them as well. Takes alot to get in all tge Water and Protein needed when I am feeling good cant imagine how difficult it will be after the surgery. Have down loaded new music to help and will use after surgery. There are quite a number of us in October.

Joy... chicken broth has saved me when I am getting that head hunger. ????

  5. @msspicybaby does GENEPRO taste good? I was reading up on it and heard its a tiny scoop that dossolves into anything and that sounds amazing at 30 grams per serving. Where do you buy it? I bought pea Protein and I'm hoping it doesn't taste too horrible, I really want it to be unflavored.

I heard it does not. Someone told me don't bother buying it. But just one opinion. ????

  6. I like The body fortress whey Protein also. You can get it at Walmart. I am on pretty much the same thing. Sugarfree Popsicles sugarfree Jell-O and chicken broth. I can only have Water to drink with Crystal light. I like to make my smoothies with Crystal light in them. There is a powdered Peanut Butter that I use because I like chocolate and peanut butter. Also if you want just a premade protein drink Premier Protein is awesome. It has 30 g of protein and 5 g of carbs. You can get those at costco and I also get them at super one. I don't know if you have a super one. I make almost all my own smoothies and with ice because I like that shake texture. The muscle milk sugar-free vanilla is also awesome in a premade protein drink.i carry a small cooler everywhere I go.

  7. I got all my walks in today. Since I can have pain meds more frequently. Honestly for me nausea is worse than pain. I am getting better for sure. Thanks for the well wishes. While I freaked out last night about what I did to myself, I am much happier right now. I'm sure I will be firm in my happiness once I can eat normal foods again. Glad that will happen before I start work again.

So on to my stats. When I came into the hospital I weighed in at 242.9 lb s (8 pounds down from my starting weight) My neck was :15", left arm was 16", right arm: 15.5 "Bust: 46", natural waist : 40 " Belly button : 45", Hips:54", left leg 30.5" right leg : 31.5 ". Going to do this monthly to keep myself motivated. Also wanted to show other pre ops the type of progression I'm having. I'm 5'2" tall.

Great idea with the stats. I am going to do that too!!

  8. I am scheduled for Oct 8. I will have surgery at Fair Oaks hospital in Fairfax Virginia. I am getting really excited as the date gets nearer. Am finishing up my last pre op tests this week. See my surgeon Friday. Am not required to do the preop liquid diet, just watch what I eat before surgery. Looking forward to sharing experiences with all on this thread. Good luck to all having surgery on the 8th. Wishing us all a successful surgery, speedy recovery with few to no complications.

    Right back at ya!!! Thanks.

  9. I was really hoping to have a better first few days on the pre diet. I feel so tired and like I have the flu and my wife turns to me and says "I'm beat, can you make dinner tonight. Its just pancakes" breakfast for dinner is my favorite BTW. No honey I'm not making dinner. I will be in bed sipping on my chicken broth. Gees!

Sorry to hear that. It's definitely not easy... But keep reminding yourself it's for the better and you are strong. I have been pretty fortunate that I have not been hungry. Just head hungry but the chicken broth seems to curb that.
