  1. Different people react very differently to the surgery. Talk to your doc of course but I don't think growling is all that bad. Better then pain, gas or upset stomach. As far as not knowing when you are full, don't worry you will get the hang of it as time goes on. Once you are on a varied, normal diet you will know when you are comfortable, full or sickly full. Of course pay close attention to what your body is telling you and don't ever let yourself get to that sickly full feeling. EAT SLOWLY! Best advice I could give. Your eyes are lot more hungry then you actually are.

  2. To the veteran sleevers out there, how long did you keep actively loosing before you stabilized? I'm about 7 months post surgery and have seen some great weight loss and staying pretty active. However, in past 3 weeks or so I just go up 2 pound then down 2 pounds but not steadily decreasing. It doesn't seem like I'm overeating that much. Any thoughts on this issue? Thanks!

  3. @@msredd, hang in there. I was also uncomfortable the first few weeks. I was not crazy about the constant Protein shakes and then, later on, did not feel like the purees filled me up much. Once you graduate to solid foods it gets much better. I actually had a consultation with Dr. Nussbaum years ago when I was considering the lap-band, I liked him as a surgeon but decided not to go through with the procedure especially since my ins did not approve me for it then. Well, I'm very happy that I did not go through with it because this is so much better :).

  4. I am 4 months out. Happy with my weight loss so far. I am not limited as to what I can eat but definitely feel the restriction and get full fast. I started working out a lot, doing a lot of pilates, zumba, biking etc. I stay away from carbs and sweets (minus an occasional bite of a birthday cake). A couple of months ago I purchased the book "Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success" and have found it really helpful. It's an excellent read for any sleever no matter what stage of the game you are at. In general, I'm feeling great and actually looking forward to summer now instead of dreading it in the past because of how heavy I was. Keep up the good work, thanks for sharing your journey everyone :)

  5. I had my gallbladder removed at the same time as my sleeve because I had terrible pain from gallstones. My surgeon had no problem doing both together and did not mention the contamination issue. My procedure took about an hour for both. To me, it's better to just get everything done at the same time since you are already under anesthesia. Getting anesthesia is never fun so I would not want to do it the second time. All 3 procedures that you need are very simple.

  6. Hi All,

I am about 2 months out of surgery and have started working out a lot. I recently began a pilates program. The weight was coming off very nicely and suddenly today I was shocked to find out I went up 2 lbs. It's obviously very upsetting considering I have been working out a lot. I do feel like I've lost when it comes to the fit of my clothes and the general feel. So, I was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar issue with gaining some weight after starting a new work out routine. Thanks

  7. Hi All,

I'm finally stepping up from purees on to solids. I do find that I'm probably eating too fast though after eating about 2-3oz I start to feel sickly full. I don't throw up but just feel very full. And lately started getting slight pain on my right side after meals. I know I need to slow down with my meals for sure. Anyone else had this problem of getting too full too fast? Should I be concerned about the pain on the right side? Thanks

  8. Hi All,

I am 2 weeks post op and have to be on purees and Protein Shakes until 3 weeks post-op. I have found lately that I can take in a lot more food then before and the purees really don't fill me up as much. Also I'm constantly hungry, although not sure if it's just from my head. Anyway the good news I have lost about 11 lbs since the surgery. I don't want to mess with the progress and I'm really worried that maybe the surgery just didn't work for me :(. Can anyone advise on my situation or has faced something similar? Thanks
