    A dream come true

That's fantastic, a real achievement. One of my bucket list things is a shopping trip to NYC!!! Will be sure to ask you for the greatest shopping places. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy every minute of it.

    Damn scale!

The scale can be really rude sometimes... Sometimes you can be carrying a little extra Fluid especially women, so try not to fret about it, keep doing the right thing and it will get back on track...
  3. @@Soonergal91 - a stuck episode shouldn't mean a trip to the ER but it will mean a trip to the bathroom to 'expel' the blockage. This usually happens when I haven't chewed my food as I should (usually when I have gone too long without food and am way too hungry) This isn't something that we should get used to, as we need to work with the band and not allow those things to happen. Fact is, they happen to everyone eventually and will continue to happen until we get it right in our minds how to eat correctly.

    Need to vent!

Geez this weight loss thing can be tiresome. 2nd week in a row with zero loss... I know we all go through this and I'm not going to give excuses - just need to vent how frustrating it can feel!!!

    Feeling Hunger?

Thanks for all your advice, I am thinking the hunger is more due to the fact that I am not yet at full restriction. I find that by the time I get to work at 8.30am that I am famished and more than ready for breakfast. When I have the right restriction, I would probably be happier to wait a bit longer for breakfast. For now, I am willing to try all of your suggestions - anything to avoid snacking...

    Feeling Hunger?

Does anyone else feel that hunger strikes them more at a particular time of the day?? I am not yet at full restriction with my band - I'm getting there but not there yet. I am trying to have quite small meals for every meal of the day. I find thought that if my Breakfast isn't substantial enough that I get 'peckish' throughout the day. It's sometimes less than 3 hours before I am looking for my next meal and this in turn leads to snacking. I'm trying really hard to not have bread throughout the working week, but for breakfast, toast seems to be the only thing that gets me through to 4 hours. Does anyone have a suggestion for me of a substantial breakfast that doesn't involve bread?? If I can fill up a bit more at breakfast, I should snack a lot less through the day - if at all!!! I do find that scrambled eggs with a bit of cheese, tomato and mushroom fills me, but I'd prefer to not have eggs every day of the week. Help me please...

    First fill

Good for you, that is awesome so far. Keep doing what you are doing, it seems to be working xx
  8. So so normal, and you will get the hang of it. If you are anything like me, the thought of getting food stuck and bringing it up again fills me with dread and I've learned to do everything in my power to not let it happen. It is hard in the beginning but you will get there. Good luck xx

    Love???? my band!

I love my band too. I still have a long way to go and sometimes the progress is slow, but I know it's the singly biggest factor that will get me to where I need to be - and really, who cares how long??? I heart my band too xxxx

    Feeling helpless

KellyKub, I can't imagine the anguish and frustration that you are feeling. I'm sure your surgeon has your best interest in mind with wanting you to do a food log. How long do you need to keep it for? Maybe that is the best solution because it will get you to the point where he is happy to give you a fill and for you to continue on your weight loss journey. Keep reminding yourself that this whole process is for you and to better your health and wellbeing. Please don't give up the fight, you and your family are worth it.

    Rewards

I am currently at 23kgs (50lbs) and when I hit 30kgs (66lbs) I will be treating to myself to a full spa day - with the works!!! It will also be my half way point so I think it deserves some special attention xx

    I've hit a bit of a wall...

Thanks for all your tips and it's nice to know that most of us feel the same way at some point
  14. I am finding it pretty difficult at the moment to say no to naughty yummy things in life - I think as it is getting cooler her in Australia, the comfort eating starts. Unfortunately, some of these bad foods are pretty band friendly and can get down no problem. I need a new mantra to tell myself to help me make a better decision, something that is positive.. Any suggestions????

  16. After 19 .5 weeks, I think I am finally feeling restriction with my band.. I had a Fluid fill on Thursday and I am sitting here on Monday at work eating my chicken and salad for lunch and finding that I need to chew like I've never chewed before. The first couple of bites were a bit difficult to swallow so I'm slowing it down and taking smaller bites which is working well. I am actually at the ever elusive green zone??? I really hope so...

    My First Roadblock

Hi Mistie I totally understand your devastation. Would be heartbreaking to hear that you have to lose weight in order for him to give you surgery to lose weight. we all know that surgery carries enormous risks and your health and wellbeing is of utmost importance. I would also seek a second opinion though, but please try to not feel disheartened, I am sure you will find a way to get what you want and need - as the saying goes - where this will there is a way and it sounds like you have plenty of will. Good luck xx

    6 months ago...November banders..

Congratulations I'm a November bandster as well - (27 November). Highest weight - 119kg (262lb) Pre surgery weight - 114kg (251lb) Current weight - 96kg (211lb) Goal weight - 60kg (132lb) I think I've done those conversions correctly... my progress has slowed a little but thankfully hasn't stopped. Would love to reach my goal by the anniversary of my surgery but I'm not going to put that pressure on myself, more realistically I will aim for my 43rd birthday on 4 February 20165.
  20. Last night I attended my very first yoga class, and on top of that it was bikram yoga!!! Holy Moly, I've never been so hot and sweaty in my entire life. Anyway, I was eating my dinner about half an hour after the class and managed to get a bit of a stuck episode.. At first I thought it was just me not chewing properly as tends to happen when I am beyond hungry. However, I continued to vomit until around midnight - even with no food left in the tank. I am wondering if it is more the shock to the system with being in that intense heat, or even if the band could possibly tighten during such exercises?? I've woken up fine and have had no issues with eating or drinking anything today. I'd love to know your thoughts or even if you can offer some advice about this??

    1st day post-op

The Fluid phase can almost trick you into thinking that this thing may not have worked because fluids really have no restriction. Trust that it has, because believe me you will soon find out all about it. Good luck with the journey...

    NSV!

I think jeans are one of the best NSV's. A great fitting pair look and feel great... Well done...

    What is your mantra?

#Bandista love your idea of visualising the scale moving down. Will definitely give that a try.
