  1. No bc in my program we dont start vit and B12 til week 5

oh my, my Doc started me immediately. I hated the chewable Multi Vitamins so I got the gummys and I chew 4 a day. The b12 of course goes under the tongue and I feel the energy almost immediately. I'm sorry ur going thru that but ur the only one of the 12 ppl from work that all had this surgery that was told to wait 5 weeks. I'm not liking that at all, u need ur vitamins.....

  2. I'm nine days post-up. I'm not completely sure what the problem is, but I was told in the many doctor's appointments and group sessions of how I would lose my appetite, how my tastes would change ... Surely being on this liquid and puree is contributory, but I'm STARVING!

Is this my body temporarily reacting to my drop in food intake, or to my uptick in physical activity recently or what?

yep trust me it's all in ur head. For so many years u've been on a routine to do/ eat as u please. Now it's a game changer and u hv to retrain urself on what & how much u eat. It will be 1 yr for me next month and I'm just about to the point to where I don't care about eating bcuz I still hvnt learn lil bites lil bites lil bites. So My tummy cramp up cuz I'm chewing big bites and not breaking it down enough. Heck 40+ yrs I ate one way and it will take a lil longer to retrain myself but overall I'm good. I still drink my Protein shakes and drinks

  3. I did have a binder. I did actually go back to the er last night because I was miserable, I didn't feel right, kept throwing up, and l couldn't drink anything. They gave me iv fluids, thiamine because I was low, magnesium, because I was low, and pain meds shd zofran into my iv. I feel much better now and haven't been nauseated since. I'm actually able to keep stuff down now.

I thought I had it bad, bless u! liquid meds was my best friend as it might be to strong for u.. Did u try taking half the dose? I had it hard drinking anything my first week, then I realized I should try the Protein Shakes and that's when I began feeling better.. Good luck and keep me posted

  4. Good morning @@starspring & @@ijones67 - I have been exercising quite a bit. I'm at the gym or out walking/jogging 4-5 times a week. Doing a lot of cardio, but also a lot of weight training as weight training burns more calories longer. I'll be doing the Biggest Loser race this upcoming Sunday and am super excited about that. I'll be walking most of it, but will jog part. Protein from meat has been good. I haven't had beef since surgery, so I'm not sure how my tummy would handle it. Fruits and veggies are just fine with me - I have a salad every day - for lunch or dinner (or both) with a protein. I have very little bread as it fills me up to quickly, and since we take in so few calories as it is, I'd rather have quality calories.

your doing absolutely great... How long has it been since your surgery?

I cannot tolerate fruits as much as I love them, they make me cramp up & I cannot keep watermelon down & that was my favorite. I wish you luck with your up & coming event ????. I love salads but after 3-4 bites I'm done. I'm still at the stage that I'm seriously shuts wasting food...

  5. Thanks for posting this. I know that even with the surgery, I am in for the fight of my life to break bad eating habits and mental food issues. Just seeing through your experience that it can be done is inspiration!

the fight will be with not understanding in your head why you can't have more than 2-3 bites of something that taste r e a l l y really good and trust me when I tell u, you will try it and when u do, h o n e y it will feel like a 200 lb child is stomping and pulling on your insides. Sooo pleasssse be careful once you get to solid foods. 10 months I'm still fighting that battle but on a different level. After 45 yrs eating my way, it's going to take a little longer for me to get it right... Keep in mind I am saying this with a smile on my face..

    Good luck

  6. I do the same as you . I eat meat meat and oh yea meat. I drink a premiere Protein Shake half at a time . Your body can't absorb all that Protein at one time. I eat a egg a day and a 100 cal Greek yogurt . I love the p3 protein Snacks and turkey Jerky bites. I was eating seafood but my hair was thinning so I switched to cooking beef patties ( for iron) on George Forman with sautéed mushroom and onions peppers . I am a slow and steady 2 pounds per week looser .

ahhh ddnt know it was the only fish diet thinning my hair, great tip- thank you for sharing that...

  7. Hello! I am looking for other sleevers to talk to and find out what they are doing to help them best! I try for the most part to focus on Protein protein and more protein. I try to get my fluids in as much as possible. I have been stuck at -65 forever!

. I started with a tblspn of Peanut Butter once to twice a day and it made me feel a lot better. It has a little more than the recommended sugar but that was based off of two tablespoons as I was only eating one... I was told by my doctor to do a five day pouch run. That's 1 day of straight liquids, two days of Soups and soft foods the fourth day fish any and the fifth day all Proteins (meat)... I plan on starting that soon to kill my last 10. Everyone thinks I'm small enough and sd if I lose any more I will look like a crack-head...lol whatever I hv more to go...

  8. So, I got home from hospital last week, and I didn't feel like like dealing with making shakes so we had a bottle of Ensure in the fridge (was for an other family member), so I used it. After a couple of "meals" of 2-3 oz., I got diarrhea, did another "meal" before it clicked, was milk or Protein causing it? I thought it might be milk, so got some non- milk shakes which seemed to agree OK. Then I thought to look at the Ensure label, it has over 20 grams of sugar per serving, do you think this is an example of dumping with the sleeve?

yes yes yes, on all labels you want for the Total fat & Sugar to 10 g or less on each....

  9. I am checking every day. I had a bariatric dr tell me once that successful weight losers do that so they see upward trends immediately and respond. So I do.:-) Only down 10 lbs since surgery the 11th. Had hoped for more but I wasn't losing 5 pounds a week EVER before - so I'll take it. I've lost only 17 pounds with pre diet included but still feel much better. I look the same - except my ankles look thinner.:-) Overate today. Beans. Trying to eat watery mushy stuff like I'm supposed to. Went down so easy - I ate too much. Definitely makes you feel pukey. I'm a bit concerned because, although on Prilosec to control acid - I feel hungry a LOT and feel no fullness after I eat. I'm worried that I don't have the restriction I will need. Obviously I need it or I wouldn't have put myself through this, right?

there will be days you will lose nothing then all of a sudden 5--8--13 lbs lighter . I weigh everyday and that's awful. I had my surgery last Oct and I'm down 55 lbs. my goal was 65 lbs and it seems this last 10 is crazy. 3 months and only 2 lbs. I drink Decaf coffee and I use flavored Creamers. When I go a couple days without coffee I drop 3-5 lbs, I go back to drinking and I put those lbs right back on... Can't break the coffee habit so easily ... Darn it!!!

  10. She got hers done by Ponce de Deleon in Mexico. She is currently back at her hotel, resting until her flight home tomorrow, but she can't keep any Water down. She is sipping it slowly and still ends up throwing it up. What can we do?

hmmm hvnt heard that one. Is she drinking any Protein Drink (juice not milk) ? If not she should. It will be tiny sips for at least a few more days to 1 1/2 weeks
