  1. Ahh wheet, I knew I would have this problem as I already had a fairly impressive sag round the ol' tummy area from having the sprogladites. I found the full tummy tuck was a fairly effective cure for the problem! The thing is that if you have a lot of skin in that area, eventually you lose the fat,but the skin aint going anywhere!
  2. I took measurements before the lapband and before the tummy tuck. When I started out on the journey I weighed 206lbs and my measurements were 47-40-46. Just before the tummytuck they were 44-37-43 (have to say though that the smallest part of my waist at that point was just under me ribs!!) and I weighed 168lb Straight after the tt I was 44-33-41 and I weighed 161lb and now 10 weeks or so on they are 42-31-39 and I weigh 148lb - and my waist measurement is now taken around my belly button not just under my ribs! Hope that this helps. Ninax
  3. Texas! I just wanted to say thankyou sooooo much for this morning!!! I went to the hospital and the doc there was very cool about it, he just stabbed the port and drew out 1ml, MAN do I feel better!!!!!!! Thankyou, thankyou, if you hadnt googled that for me I dont know what I would have done! I never realised just how bad an overfill can be!

This thread is going to be sooo inappropriate!

I have to say that PC or not I have always cried laughing at toilet humour and this time was no different! The post by the guy in the checkout queue made me pee laughing (a side effect of having 6 kids NOT the Lapband!!) I dont care about the DS v Lapband row, I made my choice and even though I have my ups and downs with it I am happy with the choice I made. All of teh forms of weightloss surgery work for different people, I have always been a yoyo dieter, I CAN diet, I just couldnt stick with it, I guess for someone who has never been able to start the diet then death from a heart attack or stinky farts is really a no-brainer. Is my plan realistic?

Hi, I was still 68lbs from goal when I booked the sx ( booked it before the band!!LOL) and I gave myself 4 months to lose 40lb, I just skimmed it in time for the sx!! Since the TT and lipo I have gone down another 20lbs, so I am now only 8 from goal! I think you will be fine - theres nothing like a goal at the end to keep you focused! Nina x

    3rd consultation down....

Lauren!! I am so pleased that you are really happy with her, I know people will disagree but for me you have to click with your surgeon otherwise how can you discuss fears and concerns in an open and honest way?? Good news that she isnt just a skinny minnie Dr, I think it is a different ball game when they are operating on post weightloss patients. So are you booked in?????? Nina x

OMG Guys I have got to say CHECK OUT MY TICKER!!!!! LOL sorry but I am so flamin well pleased with myself!! I even got on and off the scales 4 times cos I couldnt believe what I was seeing!!! I was 168 going into sx and now I am 148 and I have still got swelling!!!!!!!!! I started working out again last week, and although I swell afterwards by the morning each time the swelling is less, its like my lymph system needed me to get the muscles moving so it could shift the Fluid. I am sorry i am so happy!!! Do you all think that I should shift my goal? Or for motivation should I leave it til I hit it and then shift it? losing - get a fill babes, I ended up not needing to get unfilled and it has really helped post-op, and yes I felt that my skin was sooooo tight some days I couldnt even wiggle my hips to move down the bed without it burning. It does loosen up, I laid on my back every morning and every night and just stretched my legs and arched my back a bit at a time to loosen it up. I will probably end up with a wider scar but it was driving me nuts! Marillon - Woooh you have been through the mill honey, thats the sort of stuff that we all had nightmares about pre-op. How are you feeling now and did they fix everything? Just take it easy hon, it will take you longer ton get back on your feet I suspect. Keep up with all your Vitamins,it will help your body to heal. Mommi-hammi - how are you honey? did you have to get an unfill to have the sx? If you did when can you get that baby tightened up again. I know what you mean about craving sweet things, I think that our bodies are automatically craving the food that will give the most instantb energy hit, it must take a lot of energy to heal all that! Other than the raving munchies how are you feeling? Karey - How are you my hunny? One week out now! Do you still feel like you have been hit by a train? 5 drains??? Wow you got mine and losing's too! I cant believe what an ordeal a simple shower became and I didnt have MR and drains, the first few times it just wipes you out, I have loads of different creams that I put on my lipo'd bits and scar and it seems like it takes forever. It is good though cos it makes me massage the areas!Dont worry about the swelling hon, cos when it has gone you will feel those ribs again AND have the most amazing 20 year olds tummy! Ousooner - how are you today hon? Have you let the knife weilding lady loose yet? Amy - Dont worry about having a pity party hon, the whole one step forwards thing gets really trying. I still pop a pain med every now and again, I dont believe in suffering! I hope that you get ton enjoy your vacation, and looking at your results already I know it will be worth it. Marypetunia- I hope that everything went well hon and that you are as pain free as possible, let us know how you are getting on. Oooh I have got some new clothes arriving later, I cant wait to try them on!!!! NIna x

Hah the itching......... my sx buddy said that living with me post-op was like living with a baboon!LOL Its like a yeast infection as well the scratching is sooooooo darn good, but then the second you stop.....! I now kind of rub it, partly cos DH was fruiting at me for itching all the time, so now I tell him that I am massaging the area!!LOL I am going commando today, my garment made a kind of pressure blood blister in the middle of my scar, which made one of my stitch holes open up and start bleeding when I was drying after my shower yesterday - niiiice! So I am nekkid!! Losing - any idea when you are going to go back to work yet? I did a few sessions on the power plate, worked out with weights for my upper body and even managed to do some abs work! Cant wait to get my bike! Ousooner - That is a degree of trust rarely seen between man and woman! Good luck hon. Mary - good luck for your sx hon, I hope that you are safely on the other side now and loving the new body!! Nina x
  9. Shalee - Tell him that there is some else that does the same technique, quilting stitches and preserves the lymphatic system - plus you get a week in hospital in the price.......... he's in Lyon in France!!! LMAO!!! Losing - I have pm'd you hon Nina x

Losing -OMG 60 bucks???? I am not going to tell you what mine cost, but it is almost identical to that only it has hook and eye fastening all the way down instead of a zipper. I am gutted!!! I was swollen like a little pumpkin after my exercising yesterday but by the morning it had pretty much gone. Neal - You are having revisions done while you are awake near your man bits???:eek: OMG!!! It seems like she is reallly on top of things though ( that is just begging for a rude comment but I will resist) and at least you know that she wants to make things perfect for you. Mommi - When I do too much I get a ridge round my scar, but it always settles down overnight, so I am sure that what you have got is just swelling, but better to see him voice all your concerns and then get peace of mind I reckon. I hope it all goes well! Karey - how are you feeling today hon, still a bit train wreckish or dya think that you may be on the road to recovery yet? I found that I had a bit of a good day bad day thing going on for a while before it settled down. Harley - How are you doing hon? Do you still find that you swell or can we look forwards to it stopping soon? Nina x
  11. Hi guys, I feel much better now, I feel like I have been travelling forever! Finally got back to the kids yesterday. I thought that I would do a quick breakdown of how it went while I can still remember. Feb 11th went down for surgery at 8 in the morning didnt come out until 2pm, he said that it was more complex than he thought it would be due to a badly adhered scar from my appendix and other things. I remember that I went into shock in the recovery room (it something that I do a lot when I have had an anaesthetic) so I had to stay there for quite a while, so that they could get my blood pressure under control. They ended up putting special heated blankets on me to stop the shakes, my teeth were chattering like a pneumatic drill! When they took me up to the room I remember being amazed at how slim my legs were - I have yet to see those legs againLOL - and he told me that they took 7kgs off me. I found out the exact stats at a later consult they were skin - 26cm deep strip off my tummy (well over my tummy button!) that weighed 1.5kg Tummy lipo - 1kg Legs and ass - just over 4kg I remember the first day being really painful with a few thoughts of holy cow what have I done????? going through my head ( sorry guys who are yet to go but the first day is a bit of a nightmare) Finally got to sleep that night and when I woke up the morning after I felt 70% better!! The first day it felt like my boobs were resting on my knicker line, and I felt like I looked like a block! I suppose that they were really but it felt like I had no midriff at all. The lipo hurt sooooo much I was black and blue on my legs especially. I was up and wandering round the day after albeit a bit bent over. I got the dressings off after 8 days and I have to tell you all I only had 6 external dissolvable stitches on the outside of the scar, he did the rest internally!!!! Yup thats right I had only 6 tiny stitches along the WHOLE incision!!! I had more stitches from the lipo:lol: I have 12 entry points for the lipo and it is still swollen now:biggrin: My PS has said that it takes about 4 weeks for the swelling to go and that you lose 80% in that time but it doesnt really start going down until you are 2 weeks out, the other 20% can take up to 6 months:eek: The TT follows roughly the same rules but the swelling takes longer,he reckons that 3 months out you are starting to see the true result but it can change for up to a year:eek: You get really tired when you least expect it, apparantly it is something to do with the lipo but other than that it has been really easy. Anyway here are some piccies, I am sorry that I am scantily dressed in them - hence the warning at the top! Nina x
  12. I took some pictures today and got very stressed because I am quite swollen at the moment, but then I figured better to show to anyone reading and thinking of surgery that you do go up and down in the first few weeks! I am cheating in the first one by engaging my abs - the last one is a much truer picture!! Oh and yup I am in my undies again!! Its the best way for me to see what is really happening, cos lord knows I have had plenty of practice at sneaky dressing!LOL
  13. Dya know what C those jeans are going to fall of you in a couple of weeks, and I am not joking. Hon they are baggy everywhere apart from where you are swollen, hang on to your hat, I think you are going to fly through the sizes!!! You know from the tapemeasure how swollen you are OMG girl what size are you going to end up??? BTW make the tape measure your best friend, I had a melt down this morning when I took some now photos and I looked so swollen compared to last week, but when I measured my waist I had lost an inch?? Go figure!! love n hugs Nina x

Kareyquilts TT, BL, Lipo & BA

Karey !! I am so glad that you made it hon!! I am sorry that you are in so much pain, it seems to be worse with the MR than without, I hope that it eases off soon. I dont know about the bleeding from the drains, I had a terrible amount of watery blood that leaked from one of my lipo spots on my back, they laid me on a big pad thing and had to change it every 1/2 hour to start with, but after a day it stopped.Dya think it could be something similar, rather than thick blood? I knwo what I mean!!LOL Sorry that I cant be more help, but I am really happy that you have joined us on the other side!!! love and gentle healing (((hugs))) Nina x
  16. Oh babes (((((hugs))))) and I have to say a WOOO Hooo that DH is being such a star!!! I think this surgery is proving to be a great thing on many different levels for all of us, who would have thought that it could impact on so many areas of our lives, I know that my biggest wows have been about the way that I feel, NOT the way that I look if ya know what I mean! Huge loves coming your way hon Nina x
  17. In started looking before I was banded!!LOL Hey you cant blame a girl for being impatient! I just got my surgery and my BMI was about 30 but I just wasnt changing shape from the from the front and it was negging me out. I have to say that I am more than thrilled with my results so far and I am only 3 weeks out. It has spurred me on to lose more weight and I cant wait to get back on my power plate!! Oh yes and it boosted me down to a BMI of about 27/28, so the end goal is even more in sight now! Nina xxx
  18. Ring your PS hon and ask them if there is anything else that you can take. It might be dehydration you know, I get corkers when I dont have enough to drink! There are all sorts of toxins flying round your body at the moment as a by product of the healing the more that you drink that more you will flush them out. Hope you feel better soon hon. Nina x

    Back from consult #2

Hmmm, I didnt think of that I will ask my PS for you if you want. I want pert tata's but I want the minimally invasive procedure. Its such a juggling act!! I dunno but I will ask! Nina x

    Back from consult #2

I didnt get any MR done and I have had 6 kids, I am soooo glad that I didnt!!LOL I have had a really easy recovery, and I think that my results are fine without it, I just made sure that in the months going up to the sx I did LOADS of abs work, and for the first time ever in my life I am starting to get definition!! As for the Ta Ta's I would say that the lollipop lift is the better of the 2, less scarring means less healing time and less chance of complications as far as I am concerned! I knew before I met my PS that I wanted him, saying which if he had been an ass I wouldnt have used him, I have to be able to communicate with my docs or I am not interested. What about the drain situation - do they both use drains? I think that the second one sounds more like the one that I would choose but whether they will suit you.......? Hugs Nina x

Hi Guys Thanks you for all the lovely comments Harley you are right I do love the new body - I just wish it would swell in such an alarming fashion!!:cursing: do you still swell up?I seem to have reached a plataeu with the feeling better each day, not that I feel worse but I just want to feel normal now, how long did it take you? Mommi - My incision looked really high when I first saw it and I swear to god he did a hair transplant on my hoo hoo:lol: but as the skin is stretching out in the middle the scar is starting to look lower. It sounds like you are a bit too tight at the moment to me hon, that may explain the heartburn, did they do an unfill at all pre-op? Ousooner - All I can say to you is HUBBA HUBBA..........:biggrin2: Karey - I will see if I can get the pictures off my phone that show the bruising that I had on my legs:eek: DH nearly barfed when he saw it They are the only thing that is still painful. they get really stiff when I stay in one spot for too long - especially when I am sat down! If there is ANYTHING that you want to know just ask, I am shameless so it doesnt matter how embarrasing it is I will try to help:wink2: All I can say is that the first day is a bit hairy if you put that as a 10 for pain then the day after is a 3/4, so dont panic if you wake up feeling like a train wreck!!LOL losin - My hunny bun you are being such a trooper, I wish that I had had my internet access at the hospital, I felt soooooo cut off from you all. Even in the hotel the bluddy connection was wonky! You will be amazed at how much better you feel each day, I just cant wait for your swelling to go! The woman that I travelled with had swelling similar to yours and it was well into the second week before hers even started to think about going down. She is still swollen now 3 weeks in so dont hold your breath hon, but equally dont let it get you down cos I know that my sx buddies took a while. Love and hugs to all Nina x
  25. Hey babe! Just ride the swelling out hon, it is a frickin nightmare but it will go. I still get swollen the minute I start bending and picking up - or anything else for that matter. We just have to keep on thinking about the end result and you know that your waist is swollen 7" bigger so imagine how the rest of you is feeling! I had to suffer the worst case of the trots that I have EVER had 2 days out of sx, I went 46 ( yes that is not a typo ) 46!! fricking times in one day, I still dont know how I managed! Oh and dont weigh yourself until you know that the swelling has gone or you will freak yourself out! Nina x
