  1. I feel the same way. I was at a small family birthday party and my aunts friend is obese and at the corner of my eye I saw all the food she consumed and just thought wow that is so gross why are you eating so so much just stop it looks awful then I express this to my mom once we left and asked was I like that. And she said yes. I just think it's funny being in a better place and realizing how awful certain things are. Although 15% of my weight loss decision was based on looking hot the real reason was because my body hurt and my health was on the worse. Sometimes I want to tell people there are always options. But yeah its a motivation to better myself.

  2. I wish I had a solution to this as I am in the same boat. I have been stalled for a month now between 220 and 223. I can't seem to go past the 220 mark. It is extremely frustrating. I have started logging everything into myfitnesspal so that I can see where I am at calorie and carb wise, but I am fine with that as far as I can tell. If you find a solution to this, please post!

I kept reading to add more Water which I did also to change up my work out so I did. I cut a lot of things out of my diet. I'm so close to my first goal it sucks. I'm hoping one day I'll wake up and the weight just falls off!

  3. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I feel like im doing great. I need to up my Water but these last few days I've been great. Thursday I was 201 and today I'm 206. I feel bloated still on somw days I've been between 201-209 for almost 2 months now. Help! I'm getting really upset and quite honestly feel like giving up I work out 5 days a week cardio and strength I thought it was because I'm gaining muscle but I'm not thinking so much anymore. This sucks complete balls!

Sorry just upset but any suggestion is welcomed.

  4. Yesterday I started 5k training which was

    10 minute walk

1 min run2 min walk done 4 times

Ending with a 10 min walk.

32 minutes. Then I did some squats and some lunges and some triceps and biceps workout.

But all day I felt like I did absolutely nothing.

Do you ever feel that way?

Also I'm at a month and a half stall so I'm feeling very discouraged lately.

  5. It's might suck for me more tho because I wash my hair 2 times a week and it's up at least 4 times a week so maybe that's why I loose it in such huge chuncks. Also I feel like my face is too full still to consider short hair. I've always had long hair it's my safety blanket so this choice sucks

  6. Starting 5k training and could use help in the shoe department. Any recommendations?

The runners I know are like ASICS, but I agree you need to go to a true athletic store and get fitted.

    ........

I see you are in NJ...I live in Monmouth County...if you're near me I can tell you the name of the store I go to.

I lived and worked in Monmouth county for a hot minute.

That'd be great! Because I have zero clue where a specialty store around me would be.

  7. None of those things bother me. I tried fruit probably after month 4 but don't really do it much at all these days. When I do, its not a problem. Just chowed a "cutie" orange for a snack and it was fine. Full now, but fine. May be kinda soon for that much fiber for you.

I stopped now but at 5 months I'll try again. So take a month off.

  8. I love fruit! And it's great after a workout--with Protein first, of course!

I'm almost 7 months out and eat bananas, apples, dried apricots, peaches and figs regularly. Tried to eat plums this week, but could only tolerate a few bites before my tummy felt wonky. Haven't tried citrus or pineapple.

Yeah a lot of fruit for me taste different too. Mango is my life! But it taste too sour to me now. I'm hoping once mango season kicks in it taste back to deliciousness to me

  9. I'm 7 months out and I agree. Sometimes it's just hard to not munch on unhealthy things. I have a snack bar at work that is really trying my patience. I am sticking to it though because nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Stick to it guys we can do this! I'm down almost 93lbs since 8/22/14 sleeve date !

I'm not sure if I mentioned it on this post but I work at a bakery! So I deal with it everyday. I have good and bad days and today was an awful day. I ran out of my Quest bars (which I use to fulfill my sweet tooth and ugh I gave in and felt bloated all day. So I ran to Vitamin Shoppe and now I'm set because I hate feeling bloated!

  10. I'd have to double check but I believe apples and bananas have the highest amount of sugar. Its a balancing act though. With fruit you also get fiber, which typically keep us regular. It's just with these fussy sleeves sometimes it can make you a little too regular.

    Ugh tell me about it!

  11. It just amazes me how little about food I really know. It use to be at least try to eat 2 fruits a day and now it's oh fruit has too much sugar in it. Pre op I heard of fruit being to sugary but I always thought an apple a day keeps the doctor away not that apple might cause problems. Blows my mind!

  12. I could tell u stories LOL!!..i can't have bananas anymore, i never really liked them but, i tried half and thank god there was a loo....Shrimps :( can't have or i'll puke and cold sweat....

Oh no I can't live without shrimp! Yeah fruit has been my main issue and dairy but I was lactose intolerant Pre op but post op WATCH OUT! I ate yogurt one day and oh no! The toilet didn't stand a chance.

  13. I was also a sugar addict. I'm honestly still battling it everyday.

I also feel like sugar was my drug. food in general but my sweet tooth was the main reason I think I was getting bigger.

I'm thinking about therapy but (maybe I'm in denial) I don't think I'm struggling too bad. And the brain just needs to be retrained.

I had been lying an making excuses to myself (denial) for over 15 or so yrs..I had to get control BACK an I knew I needed professional help. carbs or sugar is all I craved bc they are feel good on what it does to the brain. this was way stronger for me to do on my own. I used food for every emotion under the sun! so I was always eating the bad stuff. I had to get to the bottom of WHY I was craving foods. it was a visious cycle. thats where I turned for help. I was at least 10 yrs I also finally found a endo who ran the appropriate BW that I wanted done an finally found out I was insulin resistant, thyroid disease (hashis) an I asked to be put on armour an she did bc if she hadnt I was going else where who would. she did. then I cleaned out the pantry! all modern grains, anything with surculose, high fructose corn Syrup, malitol, splenda aspertame was the worst, everything got tossed out an is not aloud in the house. all these chemicals were making me crave more an more...but I had to make my mind up an take control back an it has been the direction of 2 of my specialists sending me to have the sleeve my stomach hormones were crazy...with all of the above put in action I am a happier person, an so far so good with switching cheap foods pumped full of processed chemicals an replaced with whole organic foods I dont each much fruit grapes I stick to an pears but with all combined doing much much better . I'll be 8 months PO the end of the wk an 100 pds down I eat a little all day an it has worked for me. but processed white sugar an these artificial sweetners were either calming me an then when I crashed Id have to have more. therapy was the best thing an bc I had been for so long all this other changes it all fell into place ....I am not a slave to food anymore. (the withdrawls were bad not going to lie)..but ya got to go thru to stop it...:)

I see my surgeon again so I'm definitely adding sugar addiction to my questions for him.

    Thanks for sharing!

  14. My nut encourages fruit in my diet and has since I was post op 4 weeks.

it is good fiber and eaten in moderation the carbs won't hurt you.

Yeah every NUT is different I didn't do fruit till month 3. And now is when I really pay attention to what does and doesn't work.
