  1. . You are going to feel hunger!! 24/7. You have to tell yourself NO and get away from the temptations. I'm 9 days liquids only and the hunger has eased but it's still there!! It's so vital you shrink your organs for surgery! I haven't cheated once, ( wanted to a million times!!) it's all about the games you let your mind play on you. Focus on your GOAL! Mine has been getting to surgery! Post op the hunger will be less and we will have our sleeve as a great tool! Best of luck! You CAN do this!!
  2. I leave Thursday. Holy cow!! A lot of surgeries this week - keep us posted!! I'll do my best to do so.
  3. Stay away from the kitchen. Window shop. Go for a walk. Read a book. Clean your entire house? Haha Post op will be easier in the hunger dept. ( so I'm told!)
  4. You look incredible!! The red dress is superb on you!
  5. One thing to keep in mind, when your body is going through massive change ( eg. Weightloss/food deprivation.) it kinda hits "shock" mode and your hormones go nuts! Stick to your plan, the weight WILL come off and remember loss isn't as important until post op. Just need to minimize that liver. I had a 4 day stall last week and then dumped 6lbs in two days. It'll happen!!! Explain to your kids that your not yourself, apologize and do something positive with them! Don't forget about hubby either - he can support you better if you stay sane. I struggled with this too! I just had to tell myself "STOP!" Get a grip and choose JOY. This part is hard, no question!! Vent your emotions on here, we understand. Hope these days just fly by for you! Yay for surgery next week!
  6. Wonderful!!! I sure hope our paths cross. I arrive the 8th for surgery @ occ. Amazing job @ pre op! You should be thrilled with your effort.
  7. Hi all - I'm scheduled jan 9th! Started pre op dec 19th. Not one cheat since!Proud of myself and happy to report 18lbs lost and counting...
  8. SW 240 CW 222 I feel great! And can def see/feel the loss in my clothes
  9. Happy new year everyone!!! Day 14 of my pre op, 18lbs lost!! Holding strong!! It's not easy. So glad it's finally January!! One week until surgery.
  10. @@jjinWA - YES!! Fly out a week from today and surgery next Friday! (9th) So glad to see the update about your daughters. I'm sorry to hear one is struggling so bad with reflux. That has to be really tough! Is she trying any medication? Have you found OCC to be helpful post op, in their care? Being long distance, it's my biggest concern...
  11. We were at friends and had pizza everywhere!! I can totally relate. Hubby ate three pieces sitting next to me and I had to feed my daughter a piece. So hard!!! It's not the first party that I've had to use self control, so I'm def stronger than I was two weeks ago! 18lbs down ( started dec 19th.) one week until surgery!!
  12. @@shizwiz - I'm so sorry you are alone in this!! It's a huge undertaking to travel for surgery, but ALONE!!? Your one amazing lady. Don't second guess yourself and your decision. It's YOUR life, after all. I'm sure your surgical team will calm your fears and make you as comfortable as possible. I travel to MX, for my sleeve next week! Very best wishes to you and bravo!!
  13. @@jjinWA - how are your daughters doing, post op? Would love to hear tidbits of their last three weeks
  14. I'm also pre op so I can't answer your alcohol question. However, water in a martini glass, garnished with an olive is convincing! I may or may not have tried this during the holidays, on my pre op diet. ???????? I'm self pay and I don't think it's fair to say we have any sort of "advantage" it's up to our good choices and our bodies response! however, I think due to the fact we are forking out THOUSANDS of dollars, it's a tad motivating! I sure don't want to fail. We just have a different perspective, when we personally pay the bill.
  15. I started cutting sweets and empty carbs and made SURE I didn't gain. Then a month before pre op I had no carb days, no sugar days and liquid only days. Spread them out (2-3 per week.) it really helped me "practice" but nothing quite prepares you for the real thing. The only thing I can say is focus on your goal!! Stay busy! And stay out of the kitchen! I'm 13 days into mine and it's easier now but still Challenging. It's a couple weeks in the journey to a BETTER life. We are incredibly strong when we want to be. I'm 12lbs down in 12 days, that's my motivation! You'll do great, Stay positive! Best wishes for a great surgery journey.
  16. Had to weigh in with my nut this morning and low and behold - 5 lbs down!! Yay!! Hopefully that means my body is over panic and happily losing. 9 days until surgery! Really wanna hit 216 for surgery day. 9lbs to go...
  17. That's pretty amazing news!! New year, new YOU!
  18. January 9th!! Pre op started December 19. 3 week strict pre op. 14 of those days liquid diet.
  19. Amazing transformation! Thank you for sharing!
  20. I feel your pain @@Veronica Page! Im on day 4 and it hasn't gotten any easier. My mind is settled on what Im doing but food still SMELLS AND LOOKS amazing! I just keep thinking about a year from now, being at goal ( I hope!) and enjoying my new body and life! I look at my baby girl and know I have a million reasons to succeed at this!
  21. Thanks - I'm pretty sure that's what I'm experiencing. Just haven't seen many people stall in pre op!? I still have 2lbs for surgery requirement so hopefully I get outta this funk soon!
  22. Thanks - I'm sure the low calories are causing inner panic! Lol
  23. I agree the 7lbs was great! It's just weird as soon as I started liquids the weight stalled.
  24. Hey everyone - so I've been on my pre op diet since December 19th. I lost 7 lbs in the first week ( one shake and 2 tiny no carb meals.) since I started full liquids last fri ( 26th) I haven't lost an OUNCE???? This is very frustrating to me!!! days of hard dieting and being perfect for nothing. Ugh! My body hates me. I'm drinking my water, taking supplements 2 shakes a day and broth and tea. Any advise from veterans? Has anyone experienced this???
