1. Hi

I actually just finished 4 months and am down 100lbs. No problems to report other than having to purchase several sets of new clothes. Follow the after care carefully and you'll be fine. Don't overdo anything! Remember that it takes about 3 months for your stomach pouch to heal so take it easy and you should have great success.

I'm in Vernon, let's keep in touch. It would be nice to be in touch with someone nearby.

  3. Hi all,

Brand new here and a little paranoid. Just got off the phone with Brenda at Specialized Bariatrics as my emails were not being received. Feel a lot better after the talk.......just don't want to be the guy that gets taken advantage of because of a perceived desperation to get this surgery!

Mine is upcoming in Puerto Vallarta in June with Doc Lopez............I feel somewhat relieved with the above responses and am always looking for more information. Any input is appreciated.

I noticed you are in bc .. Me too! I have surgery with Dr Lopez coming up on nov 12th.

It's been 5 months for you.. How goes? Where are you in bc??

  4. I'm so glad to hear your surgery went well. Please keep is informed of how it's going post-op with your recovery!

    Yes!! Let us know :)

I have surgery booked with Dr Lopez on Nov12.

    Nervous as heck!!

Post op diet looks scary ... Please tell me no one feels faint and hungry from sipping all those ounces of broth! :)

Love all the contributions and perspectives. Thank you pioneers....

  5. When I went I my primary care dr to get the letter to clear me for surgery her nurse came in to take my BP etc. when she asked why I was there I told her to get clearance for WLS. I am a little over 300lbs and 5'7" so I'm no "on the border" person. I am morbidly obese. She said to me "oh have you tried weight watchers?"

No lady I never heard of that program!!! I just sweetly smiled and said yes but I was not successful long term with it. So I think it was good practice for when I tell people.

I am a manager at work so it's unlikely I will tell many people. I have told only my husband and a friend at work who is also overweight and is uncomfortable about me talking about it so I generally don't. My husband is ok about it but has done nothing to research it etc. I wouldn't call him supportive in the sense that he's figuring out what will change etc. However any big change in my life has been done by me mostly alone with little support so this will be another one. In the end it's all about your change anyway whether people support you or not.

Haha .. Have you tried ww? Thanks for that laugh!!
