  1. I don't have to go to the plus sizes anymore!!!! Banded 8/29/07 started size 22 and now a size 16 and loving it. Hope to be a 10/12 by my anniversary date. I love to go shopping now, I've always gone shopping for dark colors now the brighter the better!!!!!

  2. Do what you feel comfortable with, it's okay to tell people, the down side is it can stress you cause sometimes they ask to many question. I told alot of people I was so excited, one of the reasons is for me I knew it would help me stay on track because I knew they would be watching my success. By seeing my sucess I now have 3 people who have had it because I inspired them to do something about their weight. Your always going to have someone who questions your decision, that's okay everyone has a right to their own thoughts. But this is a decision that can improve your health and quality of life. I would encourage anyone to consider the lapband, it's changed my life or rather it gave me my life back.

  3. Since I eat out alot and to stop the questions I will order Water, and old habits are hard to break I would sometime take a sip only to suffer when I did. I recently decided to say when asked that I didn't want anthing to drink, the waitress screamed out I don't think I've ever waited on anyone who didn't want anything to drink, so I quitely said I've had surgery so I can't drink with my meals. Boy was that the wrong thing to say, the next remarks from the waitress was Gosh! what did they do to you that you can't drink. After she finally left our table half the restaurant knew I couldn't drink while eating. Made me feel like they we thinking, well if she drink more and ate less she wouldn't be so fat. And yes I did leave her a tip, I just figured I may be fat and I'm doing something about it, but she was stupid and to stupid to realize it.

  4. Try to get the insurance thur your employer, it will cost less than on your on. You may have a hard time getting coverage on you due to your weight, if you are able to you will possibly be rated to a higher premium. Most insurance companies have a weight chart they go by, so try to get it with your employer.

  5. On the biggest loser blog for the ones that are voted off, it says they exercise at least 5 hours a day. Isn't it amazing how the fat tones up. Most of the people keep the weight off after leaving the show, some gain a small amount back. I know 2 of the people who have been on the show and they live to exercise now, but they look great now!

  6. it may not be that common but it does happen. I personally know one that was about 105 overweight and her dr tried to do the lapband but her liver was so fatty he was afraid of liver damage he stopped. She ended up having bypass instead, it does happen, that's why the prediet is so important. In a comversaton with her she said she didn't follow the prediet, makes me wonder what would have happened if she had.

  7. You chose the extra 2 weeks, it's your decision on this, but the 2 weeks for the doctor, do as they say. It's all done for a reason, to reduce size of liver so less complications during surgery. What are you going to do if they say, sorry can't do surgery due to fatty liver, it does happen.

  8. I'm 3 months from surgery and just starting to have Hair loss, I've followed the Protein and other instructions to the letter, but I'm having hair loss. Just started taking Biotin hoping it will help, I got it at W-mart. My hair dresser told me today I should have started taking it when I had surgery, taking it after it starts doesn't help much.
