    My Fears

I agree with the previous posters. I was like you, afraid to go under. Fear of the unknown. The assistant gave me something to calm me in the pre=op area. They will monitor you the whole time. It will be okay.

August post op sleevers: Check in

Its awesome when we finally get it figured out, its it? I was a confused person in the beginning, lol. But Yay for the bra hooks and the BMI. I hope you did well at your gathering last night.

    Throwing up white foam?!?

I can't even get 1 ounce in right now and I am almost 4 weeks out. Yep, its called dumping and I did it and I did not like it, lol. I had my episode after drinking some undiluted Powerade by mistake, totally forget. But mine was accompanied by diarrhea. Lesson learned, I hope. I was chewing on some gum the other day and was experiencing a lot of foam in the back of my throat. I didn't throw up but it was weird. I will stay away from that too.

    Liquid Diet????

The protein shakes will get you nice and full along with the water intake.
  7. Ah yes, I infamous pre op diet. It gets easier the further out you are. I remember in the first few days I slipped and had something I was not suppose to have. Don't beat yourself if you though. It will be over before you know it.
  8. I will not miss that fat face in the mirror. I will not miss my moo moo dresses. I look forward to getting nice dresses and crossing my legs. I would like to run on the treadmill and love it.

    August Sleevers Check In

You have a lot going on right now. Your body is still healing. I still have a small hole in one of my incisions plus the biggest one hurts internally. I read that most people will not see good results until like 2 months out. Everyone's weight lose is different, remember that. You are doing great! You said so yourself that your clothes fit better.
  10. Now why would he do that? The whole time I was in the hospital they crushed my pills. Its hard enough for us to get food down, how much so big pills? I would call and ask for a liquid form

Make sure with your meats they are wet. Use some broth, gravy or some kind of sauce with it. I had a piece of hamburger meat from my spaghetti sauce that I made the other. I dumped afterwards. It was too hard and try for me.

August post op sleevers: Check in

Hey guys. Motherof5 checking. Everything seems to be going well at 3 weeks out. Still trying be mindful of drinking and eating slowly. Also listening to my tummy when it is full. I do have a fullness indicator which is burping. I also notice that when I stand up I feel even more full. I dumped twice the other day and it was not fun at all. Not being mindful, I mixed undiluted Powerade with my crushed HBP meds. Well, soon after I had severe stomach cramps along with diarrhea and dry heaving. My bariatric binder states that it should be half water and half juice. Not for me though. I need more water than juice. This is just a big learning process with our new tummies. At 13 pounds down and some NSV's, I have no regrets at all. My next appt is on the 22nd, so hopefully my bp will be better. Later Losers!

Awesome job mskeisha! Now you have to update that in your profile. It seems that I cannot tolerate the scrambled eggs right now. My MIL suggested that I try quiche. she said it worked for her. I will definitely try that in my next phase. I love homemade guacamole and will make that soon. Congrats again.

I wouldn't worry much about the stalls. It will pass in due time. It seems that we are in the same boat. But the restriction is a good thing. I am slowly eating some tuna fish as we speak for the first time.

    Miserable

I totally feel what you are saying. I my stomach was always growling anf I felt like I was starving myself too. It was no fun at all. At week 3, it has changed. I don't know why but it did and I am glad. Did you try blending some chicken with your soup, like cream of chicken soup?
  17. My name is Monique. My surgeon was Dr. Dean Mikami at OSU Hospital. Everyone in the bariatric department were very nice and made my stay easy. Even the housekeepers were pleasant. They also did 3 follow-up calls afer I came home. i highly recommend.
  18. Hello all! Now that you are in the pureed stage, how much can you consume? If it is something with meat, I can only do 1/4 cup if that. My surgeon made sure to tell me that my pureed foods have to be able fit through a straw.

    Hunger

I understand. I finally got my energy back but still might take a nap during the day. I am in the pureed stages but I haven't eaten meats yet. Don't think I can do that. I can't wait to get to the soft foods stage. i just keep doing my protein drinks, yogurts and i might one small meal.
  21. Maybe you can try eating just the egg whites. You can also try quiche. Or just wait until you are further out. I love eggs and cannot wait to make me a high protein crustless quiche.
  22. they are good. I filled out the info on their website and they called me the next day. They also faxed over the prescription to my surgeons office as well. I have to wait for the office to return the signed prescription and then they will see if I qualify. I hope so.

    Protein Meal Replacements

Good to hear you are excited about your surgery. 20 days will pass before you know it. I just wanted to add that after surgery your taste buds may change. It is also common to have nausea afterwards. So, those protein drinks will not be appealing at first. A lot of people say to get samples instead of a big jug. Not trying to scare you but I just want to give you a heads up. I tried the Unjury chicken soup post op and I totally enjoyed it.
