    Stage 4 frustration

If you are not keeping foods down then maybe you should connect with your doctor. Being this far out you should be able to.

Some unexpected NSVs have me LOLing in public. You?

Love love love to hear it! congrats on your NSV's. My best NSV so far is the fact that I had this tremendous energy the other day. It was just ready to come out. I dressed all the childen together with the balls and jump ropes and we went outside. I ran, ran, and ran. I played ball with my two yr old and chased her. I played frisbee with my son. I chased my 10 yr old. It was so awesome. I can't outrun them just yet, but it was sure fun to be able to chase them. I still have a long journey but I am happier than before that's for sure.
  3. I was blessed to not have the dreaded gas pains, Yes! I was so worried about that. I had those gas pains after my c-sections and I had such tremendous pressure in my bum hole that I wanted to cry. My tummy just felt like a bad tummy ache. You know, like a stomach virus. I just ask for meds and it went away. I did not have a drain and my incisions did not hurt at all. Well, my big incision does hurt a little if I do something strenuous (spell check). It will be okay. I was worried too and it turned out fine.

Feeling like crap at day 10

Yes, I stayed ahead of the pain. I had terrible pain that woul come and it would go all down hill from there. I still take few bites and eat every two hours at 4 weeks, lol.

Feeling like crap at day 10

Sorry to hear what you are going through. I didn't have regrets but I was frustrated in the beginning too. I was still in pain, had nausea, tired, and could not get what I was suppose to in. My NUT was more worried about staying hydrated. So I just sipped sipped and sipped Water and even diluted Gatorade. You can try Crytal Lite too. He said that everything else will come in due time and it did. Your tummy is still healing and you are still learning, heck I am still learning and I am almost on soft foods. This is a new journey and EVERYONE is different. I was giving those Patches for the nausea by my doctor and it helped a lot. I would suggest that you give them a call and maybe they can give you a prescription for it. Don't have regrets for something that will benefit you in the long run. VSGAnn2014 gave some good advice, you should take it. Please, No regrets!

    African American vsgers!

m4nurse, you also have Pure Protein. I use EAS chocolate protein with water and 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter. But it does have 13g of carbs. But I am consuming less carbs per day, so for now it is okay. I think Atkins shakes are okay too. Check the label on that.

Wow, awesome concept there. I love the fact that everyone's journey is different. But you can still learn from others.

    African American vsgers!

Hello. Unjury is awesome. I love the chocolate. The pre-op depends on your surgeon's plan. I was allowed to have two shakes, one fruit and one protein with salad per day. If I was still hungry, i could have extra veggies. But you will have to check with your bariatric NUT.

Sounds good Jodi. I know what you mean about the moisture too. i will have to learn how to make some healthy dips for my meats.

@Jodi_S: No vomiting. Like you said, take it easy and avoid that extra bite. TO be honest with you, I personally would not even worry about the starch right now. Unless you are talking about a little starchy veggie. I am not an expert, just my opinion. But you seem to have it figured out now. I dumped twice and I sure got it figured out now, lol. @Supastar: yep, i think that 28g of sugar did it for you suga, lol. I like those too. Let's see what happens when you leave those off for a few weeks and keep us posted. I know you will when you finally see that scale move, lol. you are so close but also did an awesome job so far. I was thinking about trying like some cheesy cauliflower or broccoli. Bake it in the oven very soft. Doesn't that sound good? Or some creamed spinach. I saw a very easy recipe here: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2009/04/creamed-spinach-to-die-for/ She has pics too. She does not include the cheese for the spinach but you know we can tweek it for us sleevers.
  15. Every plan is different and every tummy is different. At 7 days out I could not do that. But your doctor said that you could try pureed and you did. Glad it worked out for you. Listen to your tummy honey, lol.

Burping is my indicator too. Not too sexy around the hubby but we been married for 15 yrs. You know, we are still trying to figure out our new tummies. I finally figured out that I had to add extra Water to my Protein dink cause it was making me feel miserable after 3 ounces. I was not able to drink two protein shakes in a day because it had me soooo stuffed that I often went to bed early. Right now I am sticking to what my tummy says. I am doing two shakes a day with one tablespoon of Peanut Butter for extra protein. I am doing several small meals as well. Monday I have to go for my 4 week check in and I am sure he is going to advance me to solids but I am not going there yet, lol. I will probably ease into it a week later. I tried it already and it didn't work, lol. Hope you are doing better today and listen to your body. Everyone is different as well as the tummy. Later loser!

    Doctor warning

    That is true.

    Doctor warning

By no means am I trying to drag their names through the mud. I know that comment was general, smile or maybe not. I just stated that as my first result. What you stated is true. But I do recall before I had my surgery that my surgeon stated there could be complications. My surgeon made it clear that it could be leaks, blood clots, pneumonia, etc. and that he was experienced in that. I signed the paper acknowledging that.

    Doctor warning

I googled the TJ Bariatric Center from the receipt and found http://www.tijuanabariatrics.com/. It has Dr. Fernando Garcia and Dr. David Vazquez at that center. But I am sure they had many successful cases. I totally agree with Jamie. I have read that a lot folks on here had surgeries done in Mexico and are very happy with it. One just have to do their research.

    African American Sleevers

I agree with you Forsythia. A lot people be chasing the scales and you are losing the inches. The fact that one can get into a smaller size is totally awesome. I don't have any idea ho w much I lost since my last weigh in on Spet 8th. but I do know that I was able to put on a L shirt. i could not button it but I had my arms in it and it was loose in that area. I was not able to even come close to that before surgery. So we have to look at the Non Scale Victories. I was running outside with my youngings today and it felt good. I am blessed, we are blessed! No regrets! Love this sleeve and thread. Later Losers!

    African American vsgers!

@TheBlissfulNatural: That is the same plan I had for 2 weeks and I lost 10 pounds. so you have that to look forward to. I will get easier though. What I did was make sure I drunk plenty and I do plenty of water in between. Sometimes I would eat my protein and salad for lunch cause I was so hungry, lol. I was also allowed extra veggies if I was not satisfied. I must admit though, I did slip a few times. But still lose those 10 pounds! lol
  23. motherof5

    Pre op diet

Same here. I was also allowed extra veggies if I was still full. I lost 10 pounds in two weeks! Look forward to the weight lose.

    Stage 4 frustration

I feel you. that certainly seems like a lot to me. I saw with other plans that they only want you to get the protein and then maybe a piece of veggie like some mashed sweet potatoe. Though you definitely want to adhere to what your doctor is telling you, you don't want to over eat either. I would not be able to do that as well. What I do is eat every two hours and drink in between. I still try to do my two protein shakes because I cannot consume a lot in one sitting. I am talking about maybe to tablespoon, seriously. It will keep your bosy from going into starvation mode.
  25. At 4 days post-op I could not have done it. I was still loopy and extremely tired. I was taking naps during the day and my house was out of order.
