  1.:tt2: like dh is a big help anyway..., dr wouldn't do it - i'd rather get it over & done w/. :tt2:
  2. actually jukebox, what bothered me most is why another wls patient would question why another one got the same procedure. your thinking it morally reprehensible not to share is not my deal - rather yours....so it had no impact on me. for just a brief history - was a fit athlete my whole life, never had a weight problem till after marriage, several miscarriages & resorting to food for comfort without exercise. so when i said i had to incorporate exercise - i meant it, cause the one time in my life when i didn't have it, the weight piled on. another good reason for keeping this private was by the 6 month mark i hadn't lost but 30lbs - barely went down in the next size clothing. it's also important to note that for those who do not share - arent' w/out a wonderful support system of friends & family. i mentioned that i did share w/my parents and brothers once i was comfortable, and they were extremely supportive & very happy they don't see the sadness that i had w/the weight on.....can't hide that look in pictures. so it's a personal journey & when i said good luck to your and yours, i meant it.
  3. probably in "time out" workout wise. had gone to the gym, did the bike a few days & more weight training and my dr wants to put a soft cast on my ankle tomorrow (would have today if hubby was w/me to drive home).... so - BLAH
  4. i know i did this....:w00t::smile2: yesterday - b- jennyo turkey hotdog w/sf bun s- 16oz peach nectar l- 5 chicken potstickers d- beef stroganoff (about a cup), very few noodles s- handful wasabi peas
  5. i think that's a big reason why many of us gained weight & needing wls - never putting ourselves first. i think your wife is very lucky to have your support , all the best to both of you with your upcoming surgeries.
  6. CONGRATS SLIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and btw it COUNTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! friday has always been my official weigh in day (before the wkends....LOL). if i weighed less during the wk, than say on friday - i took that lower number ALWAYS! again congrats!
  7. yesterday - b- jennyo turkeydog w/sf roll s- banana cream protein drink l- cucumber/chick pea/grape tomato salad (about 1c) d- 3 grilled jumbo shrimp & .5c green beans s- 2 scoops mango sorbet ...
  8. while TX is a right to work state (as are others); where a company is incorporated (ie - diff state) those policies apply when dealing with PTO (paid time off) & acrued sick leave. essentially they can request she not have her surgery at the time already slotted / requested - but that's not to say that if she has any kind of comorbids that this elective surgery is not necessary. personally - i'd be firm in my time off. i could be on a beach in Mexico, getting a boil removed, or getting the lapband....you can't tell someone what / how they can use "their time off" i would contact your local aclu / state board of employment - or at the very least a letter from your surgeon stating the necesisty of your wife's surgery. all the best~
  9. now that i've been in TX too long, i've traded my: youz guys to ya'll BOTH awful......oh and fixin' to do somethin'
  10. best response yet. you crack me up beth.....
  11. i loved that zoo. went to grad school in dc - lived in adams morgan & old town alexandria.... enjoy the day tyme!! today - does loads of laundry count? actually plan on doing twilight golf tonight w/dh - 9 holes only.
  12. your dr or nutrionist should have provided you with a list of foods/drinks for the healing stages.....i've not heard of only 3 tblsp of food in one sitting - but if that's your dr's plan..??, there are some Protein drinks that are halfway decent & filling while along the way: * muscle milk (light), i like chocolat & chocolate malt * Syntrax nectar, i like fuzzy navel / orange / - i like to mix them w/frozen fruit to make a smoothie vs all the choc/vanilla shakes which can get boring * champion banana scream many of these offer samples at Vitamin shoppes so you don't have to make a huge investment in a large tub that you'll never use.
  13. i did make it monicasf: 1pckg ground turkey .25lb ground italian sausage 1 egg approx 3/4c panko bread crumbs *i steamed fresh spinach in white wine & garlic* - added a handfull to the mixture 1/4c parmesean cheese sprayed light pam in muffin pans & baked 30min @ 350 they freeze really well too:)
  14. asked - not axed' a question.... on a msg board - i don't pay much attention, as i'm sure i make mistakes; however when "speaking" w/someone & they use the wrong words - i do bite my tongue to correct.
  15. considering one of the dogs gets skunked every wk - it no longer bothers me.
  16. yesterday - b- half toasted english muffin w/hummus & pickled pepers l- "tried" to eat a slice of pizza, and wasn't happening - peach nectar protein drink s- munched on wasabi peas all afternoon d- 1 turkey/spinach meatloaf muffin w/steamed spinach s- dried fruit
  17. guess odd man out - love the smell of patchouli, have a candle infused w/it burning right now. then again i'm a dead head w/a hippie mom. my first concert my parents took me to was the greatful dead @ the age of 4.....so i developed a fondness for it.. shaving - hate it; so i go the waxing route - but am looking into laser hair removal. my friend did her arm pits/bikini line w/great results. tgif~

  19. i vote golf! congrats ebony! today - weight training routine minus squats/lunges. my ankle is really swollen and have been told to stay off it 3wks by ortho guy. since that's really not feasible; i'll def limit leg exercises (great my prob area)
  20. kat that is so funny - you complain here about MIL, i feel good about getting it out here as well. mine is just an overrall manipulative brat - who complains to me because her son wants nothing to do w/her. i found putting my fingers in my ear and going lalalalala to her works VERY well.....cause having a rational conversation w/a chronic hypocondriac makes my skin crawl. i know dh takes her to lunch about once a month & will cut out of wk and play a round of golf w/his dad and that is just fine w/me. i do the holiday obligatory stuff, never rude (other than the lalalala thing), send the appropriate cards (though i myself never have gotten one) & maybe do a diner out. that's about all i got. if she had her way she'd call/email me hourly - dh nipped that, though i did get an email wanting me to go w/her to the tea party in dallas, but that was more a slam to me that i voted for obama & dh let her know how tacky that was....love him for that. on the car front kat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's AWESOME!!!!!!!!
  21. ahhhh 4:20 friendly. i'm w/you taps - while i enjoy the outdoors, the tm is best for me - as i walk faster/ with an incline.... otherwise, i stop at different neighbors, chat - or play w/the dogs along the way.
