Starting the holiday detox early, anyone wanna join me?
luluc replied to Boo Boo Kitty's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hey bridgette - i "cheated" a bit because i was craving veggies & had some, and one night i made talapia for diner and it didn't want to go down, so i had a shake....not sure there is an absolute in all this, i think just a shock to the system is what helps get back on track. as of today i'm back to my signature weight...YES i refused to change it...LOL... congrats to all who have lost. this thread has been very enjoyable - and yes slim a martini shaker does come in handy when the blender breaks:wink: made a new shake today (in playing mode) 8oz skim milk 1 scoop of eas soy vanilla protein 1.5 tbsp of SF butterscotch pudding mix 1 tbsp SF davinci caramel syrup.....yums! -
i'm less annoyed with the commercials than i am with those who are doing their part in joining a gym and sticking to it for a solid 3 wks. the machines are full at all hrs at the gym, some actually jump off the treadmill to take a call on their cell or better yet text someone....cause god forbid 30mins should go by without communication from the "world". same as last yr...the first of february; all resolutions are broken & life can go back to norm....commercials * all.

well hey donna!!!! welcome back. i think ceradad is out fighting crime in the twin cities - he's been posting on the exercise threads.....but we post a lot; for some to catch up. watched oprah - hmmmm, have many thoughts. the one thing is she should just admit is that it's not thyroid - it's fork disease. i have it too - have trouble putting down the FORK when food is oh so good. after 54yrs wisdom hasn't come to her that she can't do it alone is sad...period. going to read up on the other threads...

congrats ebony * beth on the NSV's!!!

i thought the same thing....i tasted more pumpkin than anything else - a bit overpowering, even though i love pumpkin. i think you can play around a LOT w/the basic recp mac put out - i like the brownie idea. i don't really have a sweet tooth - and DH lost his being banded; however i do like a good muffin every now and then. when i hit starbucks and get my skinny coffees their muffins call my name - but after reading online the calories/carbs/fat, i always turn away. mac - i LOVE ricotta. my mom growing up for her cocktail parties always made ricotta bake & ricotta pie. your ideas are sending me to the store again tomorrow:)
-
that made me smile...LOL - HA!! susan - just some BITC& on the board; asked me a question - i answered - then got a PM saying i was a know it all & that i should get a life with as many posts as i've made. REALLY, no REALLY ??? got pissed - told DH i hope she PB's every meal for the month of january - then was reminded my inner voice was speaking. so i shut down and walked away. ummm looked at the prostitute thread. see someone came out from the political mess & is bored? re: facebook - that is my space; i have several former colleagues / DH is in the same industry and we overlap friends on facebook - i don't get TOO personal; but i do post some pics that i wouldn't post here. so that's more private then what i say.
-
sending mixed messages won't help. if you made up your mind and said hit the road - like tap, if he didn't get up and go - i would be packing for him. personally speaking; i can only be on my best behavior for a day - then my inner voice becomes vocal.

i think i can work it off:sneaky:

today - wii yoga
-
morning all - yes the gym has TOO many people in it; majority gone by EOM i bet....was reason enough to stay home this cold/rainy/sleet morning and do my wii yoga:) lentil pizza - i pulled from chickie's blog many moons ago and this is how DH makes his individual ones: whole wheat flat bread pizza dough (bought pre-made) drizzle with olive oil spread cooked lentils on top (like tomato sauce) then he adds: pickled peppers/calamata olives/red onion/feta cheese/little bit of pecorino....bakes till bubbly. personally - i think you can make this anyway you want w/the ingredients you enjoy. prostitution thread - hadn't been; but yesterday i got annoyed for the first time here on LBT and shut down said i wasn't coming back - DH bet me $50 i couldn't. i waited till he left this AM to jump on... g4e - feel better; had the crud and it only got better w/rest. ljm - isn't it funny when all you want to do is nap when you can't - then when your told NOT to move about you find all the things you should have done when you wanted to just nap:)
-
yesterday - b- banana/pumpkin protein muffin & skinny cap l- veggie egg roll s- veggies & salmon spread d- 1 sweet italian sausage link & onions/peppers

i actually adore DH - but i LOVE my downtime. it's just the 2 of us on a ranch, which i have grown to love. we are however glued to the hip most days - he hasn't gone and done a guy trip since he lost weight......he needs boy time, and i need my girlfriends for a slumber wk party...LOL
-
ok - that is the reason we are having our downstairs done with textured concrete (heated). even thought DH and i had a kennel built on the property - TV's / heating / Air conditioning.....the dogs make their way into the house, and i would love nothing better than to take a power wash to the floors and throw every damn mop/broom in the trash......in my dreams:wink: my office is CLEAN - i can find stuff finally!!!! was offline for 4hrs, and had DH move furniture around......now i can actually look out the window when i post...LOL LJM - glad your home; do you have a "mothers day out" place by you? my BF drops her son off for a few hrs a wk - pretty cost effective vs day care. ok - off to pack for DH...he leaves for a wk:biggrin::biggrin::cry_smile::biggrin::thumbup::biggrin::w00t::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

hey renewed!! today - was outside for about 2+ hrs w/my big dogs - tried to walk some around the ranch ... but i did more throw/fetch/catch of tennis balls than walking. my old lacrosse stick comes in handy when i don't want to just throw the ball.... hope all had a good wkend!!

I am not embarrassed about my surgery! Are you?
luluc replied to babbs3772's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
pretty popular topic as a new thread seems to pop up each day. not embarrassed - just private. no shame, not secretive, was never concerned about peoples opinions. i was just banded w/my husband who is ULTRA private - he wanted this kept to ourselves and so we did. i've learned a lot about discretion being with him over 10yrs - it's helped in other areas, where i have been a chatty kathy in the past. i shared my banding w/my family after 6 months - i'm sure if i told any of my friends, colleagues, other family members...they would be supportive. my oldest brother got banded after seeing me and hubby a few months out.....we were the unfortunate ones in a family of 6 that had that "fat gene". i was glad to help & offer advice - as far as others go; i watch what i eat & exercise & that is no lie. pretty personal topic - i will say i'm a little over people saying those who don't disclose are secretive or deceptive. i did a overhaul of my diet & re-engaged with my athletic side - the band didn't do that for me; it assisted. -
i made one batch this am: 1.5c low sugar yellow cake mix 1.5c banana scream Protein powder 15oz canned pumpkin i had one this am, and it was pretty good. the smell wasn't so hot & i think i might tweak the recp (not sure how just yet). it wasn't sticky, the batter, more like it was creamy - not sure if it was the protein powder or what. the banana scream is VERY fine; not like my other protein powders - that might have been the issue. overall i like them - and they are quite filling.

Oh....plastics, i'm a fan - botox scares me. I want my eyes done...open up more, I continually look tired...and if I got my nerve up, I would lipo my thighs.
-
Chickie- I think of you, when dh makes lentil pizza...which is often. Hope all is well. Tp- down here they flamingo homes. Every wk I see a house w/no less than 200 pink flamingos. Very cute, I always smile. Cleaning- it's just dh & I...we create a lot of laundry & garbage for 2. Plan on tackling my office, if I can get off the puter Tap- your the quoting queen today. Mrniceguy- happy belated!
-
hey destiny - congrats on the weightloss!! yesterday - b- choc/peanut butter/banana protein shake s - slice of cheddar l- veggie egg roll d- half baked potato stuffed w/steak/onions/pepers/cheese/lf sour cream s- lemon cookie *didn't need that at all*

i snorted in real time ~ can't say i have taps - now my dad, is felix unger (his nickname) ..... i'm sure he cleans his brooms at least that many times.
-
my opinion - your meals for the day consist of "soft foods" only....they are by nature easier to get down & you can eat more. i would try solid Proteins (chicken/fish/lean meats) - they take more getting use to ; but might keep you satisfied longer. just an observation.
-
DH has offered to get me a cleaning person again......i had one when i worked FT & traveled - just thought i could do it on my own. NOPE, i suck at it. he had someone come a wk ago and i sent them away because i didn't know where i wanted stuff / organized / etc. **i should mention, i'm still in the midst of a remodel; and while upstairs was completed...we moved up there to start the downstairs next wk** it's been tough living in/out of boxes - for a yr....so i am more than discouraged to really start when i can't finish. i agree those people are SLOBS on clean sweep, i would just like to find a pair of scissors when i need them:wink:

i had thought about apple sauce today, and decided against. just figured i'd try the pumpkin first.
