carol - i'm not sure there is a "right" answer. when i'm weight training, it's pretty intense - i do well enough to walk out to the parking lot to my car let alone hit the treadmill afterwards:tongue:. my trainer wants me on days i'm not w/him to hit the cardio hard & not worry about weights - we do enough in 2 days together. since he changes up my routine every month - some have included a high intensity cardio the last 10mins (interval elliptical / ladder drills on the basketball court ... ) just depends on what mood he's in:rolleyes: he doesn't let my body get use to a workout fast before he changes it all up - working a different set of muscles. not sure this helps...

been "told" weight lifting first - cardio second. i think your body should dictate what you do.... before i meet up w/my trainer for a weight lifting session, i do 10 min of quick cardio (usually bike) to get warmed up. i "might" follow up our sessions w/some cardio - depending on the day...but i have kept the 2 separate. hit the weights hard one day - run/elliptical or yoga on the other days.. hard for me to include the 2 together unless i'm soft in cardio (walk) after the weights.

yes - back in may. they are the size of a tylenol caplet & had i no problem & haven't had issues w/pills of any kind since being banded. some say the pill is not as effective as the liquid "cocktail" in clearing the bowel - but i've done both, and the pill is FAR better than 2 days in the loo~ prior to being banded i was required clearance from my gastro, my lapband dr is well aware of my crohns and i'm scheduled next wk for another endo to make sure all is well being a yr out.

V - ???? SNT - i'll post pics , mom flew in from FL because hubby is traveling. said to help, i think it's more likely the only grandkids she'll get from me (she has 14 grandkids already)....plus she wants one of the pups. :crying:
-
yep - pill is the only way to go. i have to get a colonoscopy yrly (crohns disease) & i can't imagine doing that "gross drink" post band - gagging just thinking about it.

i knew it was about....just made it a sticky.. lauren, i'm not sure you'll need 100% of your protein requirement in the first few wks; i found that i had to gradually work into it. i do mix my shakes w/skim milk - and i HATED milk prior to banding. wasn't much a dairy person to begin with but my tastes have changed. my choice of shakes are: champion nutrition pure whey banana scream = 24g protein per scoop + milk lean muscle milk whey chocolate = 17g protein per scoop + milk during the post op phase i had issue w/cold drinks, so it took me to 2wks out to enjoy something cold vs warm / rm temperature. during that time, i lived on egg drop Soup (good source of protein vs canned soups).... good luck to ya!! -
welcome mamanmidwife, today - *must be the rain* just took a yoga class & about fell asleep in the dark room:closedeyes:. tomorrow is measurements & fat % taken, going to overload big time on H2O today!!!

you will still lose weight w/out exercise - might be slower, but there are many here who have not set one foot in a gym, or walked around the block once. your first few wks out you shouldn't worry about what the scale says - it's really a time for healing. many who go back to solids after say 4wks of mostly liquids, will put some weight on & that shouldn't concern you. the avg weightloss should be around 1-2lbs per wk...it's a slow process and there will be wks that you just don't lose. concentrate on making healthier choices as you work towards restriction & the rest will follow.....good luck to ya

they are extremely good!!! think many here have made this recp! not sure the carb count though.

yeah, i had my "little" tell - i'd ask for the PO from CEO's or the CIO. didn't play little girl actions; didn't have to. jack you may have "met" many powerful women - but some here posting ARE powerful women; those who get to decide if ms palin has hurt or helped the republicans. enjoy her six pack model; she's engaged alright - not to the hillary voters she was set out to recover. -

well sorry gadget, like ya - but i do find her an utter embarassment, and so do many professional women - those in my circle; can't speak for outside my corners of the world. but it's your world too ... conservative dallas, me being the lone liberal friend. i DON'T agree w/her politics, not one ounce of them - but please don't take my slight on her mannerisms to sum her up "whole".... she does not come across as intelligent / professional & for that matter properly educated - sorry; that's a fact that you may not like to hear, however a real perception of ms palin... -

thank you ...! i'm half italian myself and really didn't introduce Pasta into the diet till i was 6 months in. of the type of ronzoni i mentioned, i prefer the rotini or penne....they are much smaller in size than the regular brands. a little goes a long way.
-
i've not found a whole wheat pasta that didn't taste like cardboard. since i don't eat it often, i went for taste & found ronzoni "smart taste" to be a current staple. higher in protein & fiber than most; it tastes just like "mom's" pasta dishes.
