i struggled with hunger as well in the beginning. i had portion control issues mostly - not really a sweet or junk food person. i had 8 fills with 8.5cc in my 10cc band before i was really able to check the hunger. my meals were MUCH larger then than they are now. i set some rules for myself: every meal measured or weighed / only used a salad plate / never ate after 7pm / made sure i got in 4-5 days worth of exercise. i've read a lot hear about head hunger; i'm not sure that was my issue early on, i felt physical hunger. but i sorta stuck to my personal rules, and before long - it didn't take much to fill me up. my average is 1100-1200 calories a day - maybe your not taking in enough??? when i was under 1000 per day....my weight loss halted. just a thought.

today - 20min walk treadmill 50min trainer session - upper body weight training; squats/hamstring/glutt circut -.... break from abs, 20min walk treadmill

hubby says that jillian as my trainer would be an all out war & i would have to be bleeped every other word.....LOL, sorry - do have a potty mouth sometimes, ESPECIALLY when working out.....LOL my trainer has more of bob's disposition, soft spoken while breaking my A$$. i have Wii & Wii Fit and haven't broken out the box yet. does anyone here use it??? i think i need to dig that out; id' be interested in a game of hers. terrilyn - jump IN!!!

don't be sorry - that's what this place is for! vent away - not everyone has great success out of the gate, me included! my huband just about got to goal before i saw 25lbs GONE, but i didn't let the noise of him or anyone else in comparrison distract me. i just kept plugging along. i suggest you start journaling your food, till you see it in writing - will you really know where to make adjustments..... good luck to ya!!!
-
same here - i didn't lose but 24lbs in the first 5months or so; and my meals were 3 and under 1000calories per day. wasn't working for me; once i upped the cals and changed up my meal plans - the weight suddenly started to fly off (well not literally - i had to do a bit of work). i think your activity level really should determine your meals & calories as well - i workout out 5days a wk; 3 meals just doesn't cut it in nurishing myself properly.... it's a LOT of trial / error to figure out what works for weight loss; and the same for one, isn't for another...

Why are so many not telling friends and family about being banded
luluc replied to jackiemhornig's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
absolutely nothing wrong. i would tell anyone who would listen (well minus MIL), however i was banded the same day as my husband. he is ULTRA private, and a bit embarrassed he let himself go. it's his wish we keep this to ourselves, i only told my family; parents & brothers when i was down 50lbs. they were very supportive, in fact my oldest brother got banded a few months back. our closest friends & hubby's family just know we are dieting & exercising....which is the truth. good luck on your journey!! -
doing mega coffee right now before meeting my training in an hr.... it's tuff to force yourself some mornings to the gym, today is one of them for me:frown:

plain - i say w/all honesty i have no answer to what is fair and what is not. to call baby bush the devil is really easy, least here in NTX - it's actually a sport. palin, well - DH and i are convinced she will do just fine after the election ... who knows; she may take bill o'reillys spot...(crossing fingers)
-
honestly - don't know , don't feel the pinch many others do, thankfully. so your probably asking the wrong person that question.
-
ya know - i struggle with the charity vs patriotism, because too much is muddled...what do you say when daddy bush asks for those to help? who would do it,, cause it certainly can't be forced.?? let "them" take care of themselves.... thats rich, we send money overseas; & have families here struggling.....sorry, democrat on steroids and am grateful my mom taught her children to give .... jump in your bomb shelters....

more like 37%. and the churchs' i've seen in TX don't need a dime. wouldn't it be interesting to see how much we have to invest in our economy when we are no longer funding a war ???
-
i'm screwed no matter who is president - period, tax wise. to throw the towel completely on obama is really not fair. my investments are less now than when i was part of the happy internet bubble under clinton. bush's fault??? can't say - but there are MANY , and its distracting to say otherwise, there are many that are just not happy w/the funding going on for a war that a lg portion of america no longer supports. and please - don't discount some of us who don't support the war, for not supporting the troups. hubby just wrote check last month for a donation to SAMMC for vets that are being denied benefits for war injuries.
-
pjd - DH and i are maxed as far as what uncle sam can take from us in taxes. we pay qtrly, and it's an obscene amt. i'm married to a fiscal conservative with liberal social beliefs. i'll not pretend i'm nothing other than a staunch democrat. he will not support mccain - not ever because of palin. now, i don't expect anyone to take from theirs to aide in others - but i'm fortunate to be able to contribute and don't mind sharing the wealth. can't take it w/me. i don't consider myself a socialist - i consider myself, who my parents raised me to be - one who has, should give. if that makes me socialist - well someone should contact daddy bush & bill clinton who have asked those of us who can contribute do so.....hubby & i paid for 2 apts in dallas after katrina for 2 families for a yr.....took their pets & had them cared for....isn't that american or foolish socialism??
-
it's the pawpaw comment that keeps me gigglin' SNT has a way w/words...coffi, i feel michelle obama will be a fantastic first lady.

posting to say - SNT did a drive by...................and i LUV her for it:wub:

5 in 1 blender or magic bullet
luluc replied to NEWME2008's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i went thru 3 or 4 $25-$35 blenders before i bit the bullet (no pun) and got a magic bullet. i have 2 now, because DH has monopolized one .... you can get them at costo for $54. -
i'm really not sure. i'm not a good pill taker, and wasn't prior to banding. i get shots vs taking medication at all cost. hopefully someone will chime in w/another alternative... lu

if you find it - post it. i'm training now for a tri Jan 3rd, though on a break from running & bike till my broken varicose vein is healed, another 5 days. running is the hardest for me, because i do not love it. dh and i have mountain bikes that we plan to start trekking on the wkend (plus i ride regularly on the bike at the gym), have a pool and keep it heated this time a yr around 80....but running is not my strong suit. aside from weight training, and plugging along w/cardio - not sure how else to train & would be interested in any link posted on the subject.
