  1. I have one too. It burns and feels likes it's pulling. I feel like I have to dig my fingers into the skin around it and hold it in order to feel better. It must be normal. I can't raise my voice or lean forward on the left or anything without worrying about that pain.
  2. I am doing much better ijones67. I am able to keep liquids down ands take my meds by pill form too. I got all my protiem in yesterday but feel short on the 64 oz of liquid total. I literally sipped all day ands still came up short. I am moving from sipping 15 cc to 30 cc every fifteen minutes. Hopefully that will help me get through the day
  3. You may want to contact your doc because you might be dehydrated. My home nurse and doc also said that if the gas is still a problem to try milk of magnesium. And it worked. I hope that helps.
  4. I did have a binder. I did actually go back to the er last night because I was miserable, I didn't feel right, kept throwing up, and l couldn't drink anything. They gave me iv fluids, thiamine because I was low, magnesium, because I was low, and pain meds shd zofran into my iv. I feel much better now and haven't been nauseated since. I'm actually able to keep stuff down now.
  5. Hi, I was able to go home yesterday afternoon. My doctor has a home care nurse come to the house twice before my first office visit with him to make sure we are doing ok. I had an umbilical hernia that was repaired (I knew about it in advance) and I believe all my nausea and vomiting problems stem from that. When I got home, I couldn't hold liquids down, I hadn't passed any gas despite the gas x and the suppository and I didn't feel great, at all. Ended up back at the ER at 3:30 am per my docs instructions. I got more fluids, more pain and nausea medicine intravenously, and even had to get some liquid thamin and magnesium because apparently mine were born low. I am actually feeling better now, 6 hours later, and at home sipping on protein and walking. My other incision barely hurt which his good, it will take a few weeks for the umbilical area to heal. I hope and pray that I've gotten through the worst of it. Congrats on your sleeves. What lies ahead is very promising!
  6. Going thru preop right now with surgery in 1 hour
  7. almost forgot that I needed chargers and ipad. Lol. Thanks :-) and I am a mother if six which includes two sets of twins! My youngest set is 5 years old and starting kindergarten soon. Congrats on your choice and look forward to chatting with you on the other side of this weight coin!
  8. 3 of my kids had strep about a week ago. Doc put me on antibiotics just in case. I keep reading that if you don't have a fever or lung congestion you should be fine for surgery even with a cold. I hope you didn't catch it though.
  9. I feel ya. My surgery is at 1130 tomorrow also and even though I hands had surgeries in the past, I am still a little nervous. For me, prayer works. I am just trusting that all will be well and when I wake up, I will feel good and be on the path to healthy.
  10. We are only a few days away from our august 26th date. Anyone nervous? Excitedly? Sick of the liquid? Me, me, and me! It seems like this week flew by. Now I have to plan for what I will be taking to the hospital with me: loose sweat pants and shirt, Chapstick, gasx strips, smaller underwear, positive attitude. I don't need a pillow because apparently me will be provided along with an abdominal binder. I have lost 12 pounds so far which is great. So in a few short days, we will all start our path and will never look at ourselves the same way again! What are your thoughts?
  11. I was having a hernia repaired also. So I told people that. Good luck
  12. It is hard. I'm on day five and had to endure sitting in a car for 20 mins with the smell of checkers. I do gel yogurt. I added sugar free chocolate syrup and sugar free chocolate pudding. It was actually doable. You could add ranch seasoning to greek yogurt for the salty taste. Add jello powder to vanilla protein powder. So you can have like a key lime pie shake or orange Creamsicle shake, or even a blue raspberry and vanilla shake. The possibilities are endless. Also creamed soups with no chunks work. Minestrone, minus the veggies, works. I hope that helps.
  13. I am on day 3 of an all liquid diet. I feel okay. It seems like I have to pee every 15 minutes. But I did better yesterday than I did on day one. I found Chinese wonton broth to be yummy and filling. I also had Olive Garden minestrone broth and it was under. 100 calories. I actually felt like I had real food yesterday. If anyone is looking for yummy broths, Swanson makes a Mexican tortilla flavored one, Chinese hot and sour, and Tuscan chicken flavored. Hope that helps. I felt like I had a lot yesterday, but I only managed 600 calories but I had 80 grams of protein. Go figure. Prayers are going out to those sleeved and to be sleeved this week.
  14. Me 3. I actually cheated and had a piece of cheese. So I am even more ashamed. The sad part is that I can go all day without even thinking slot l about food but now that I restricted, I am having a hard time. Tomorrow is a new day and I'm sure I will be okay. The slip up helped me because I feel so bad that I don't want to slip up again. Good luck you guys!
  15. My last duty station was fort Stewart. I had my first back surgery in Augusta at the VA and did most of my therapy at the hospital there. Good luck with your process. 6-8 weeks is ideal. My process was 7 months long.
  16. I haven't told a few people either. One being a close relative who is a doctor. But I want prayer for my surgery and positive thoughts not negative ones. So because I have to have a hernia repair also, for those people, I will be asking for prayer and tell them later that I also had weight loss surgery. That way I won't have to hear what they have to say. Because although relevant, I have done all the research I needed to, I have prayed about it, & I know that I made the right decision. I hope that helps
  17. Hi elphasovet. I added you on the Facebook page. Everything you post there is private. Make your prayer requests known and people will pray for you there. By the way, my name is Zaneta in case you were wondering which member was me. :-)
  18. Hi elphasovet. I am a 100% disabled army vet. I am not going through the va but I feel your pain. If you are getting it done by a private doctor, then it is probably fee based and it should all be covered. I am a a prayer and will pray for you. I have a group on Facebook called women aspiring for higher. You should find it and join. Lots of prayer and encouragement for whatever you are going through. There are over 300 women there to support us. And some of the daily posts are very encouraging. I have surgery on august 26 and have battled with my weight have a military injury and two twin pregnancies. It is had, it is a challenge, but if the va has already approved you, you are golden.
  19. I start tomorrow. I am using shakeology shakes, unjury unflavored powder, cream of chicken soup, decaf coffee, and broth and yogurt during my liquid fast. I can also have sugar free popcicles and sugar fee pudding and jello. I hope I'm ready. I did a 21 day Daniel fast prior to this so I have been cleansed out in a sense. Prayer will definitely be required to get me through, especially with 6 kids ( includes two sets of twins) at home.

  21. Oh and good luck. I am a week behind you.
  22. My doc told me I could mix flavored water drops into my yogurt. I even thought about adding ranch seasoning to my plain greek yogurt. I hope that helps.
  23. My doc told me that you will actually have gained weight from the surgery during the first week because of all the fluids. Week 2 should be a better indicator of your weight loss.
  24. Oh.Sorry. I will have surgery in Michigan worth Dr. Brian Gluck.
