  1. I had my sleeve 8/5 and I have no energy at all. Headaches sometimes . Upset stomach frequently. I'm still on liquids til the 20th and there's so much I can't even stand the thought of drinking...feels like my stomach puckers at the thought of some things. Makes no sense I know...it's frustrating but I know it won't always be like this.

I had mine on 8/5 too! And this no energy and upset stomach is really getting to me!!!! The crazy thing to me is that it seems like everybody stayed on the liquid diet so much longer than I did. I'm at the soft foods stage now. While the solid foods are ok, I'm having so much trouble with these Protein shakes right now. I bought a different brand today without any lactose/gluten/ANYTHING....and I have the worse upset stomach ever! Every day it's the same cycle and I can't wait to feel better. I hate complaining and feeling frustrated like this.

My program has me on liquids for the first two weeks (8/6 sleeve) with hydration and Protein as top priorities before going to puréed foods for another two weeks and then soft foods. If something isn't agreeing with you, go backwards to the liquid stage and start again until you talk to your doc. Everyone has a different experience and sometimes some of us need to go slower than others. For protein, i have had mix it up due to growing tired of a certain taste. I like to take Greek yogurt, thin it with Water and add a little Crystal Light lemonade mix. By thinning it down, I can tolerate more.

  2. I have surgery the 22 of august and I'm trying to get prepared does anyone have any suggestion for what I need to buy and stock up on for a couple weeks?? Protein Shakes from Walmart you can buy?? Broths? Clear liquids? Thanks

I am three days out. I like the vanilla Premier shakes at costco. 18 run about $24.99 and have 30 g of Protein and fit all of the nutritionist's guidelines. I also bought chicken broth there in cans, in a case of about 12 and paid around $6. "Clear liquids" also means plain nonfat greek yogurt, sugar-free Jello, both if touch you can add Protein Powder to, Sugar-free Popsicles, etc. My doctor wants me to get in 64 oz od H2O each day, which includes all of the above and it is hard! Especially when an ounce gets sipped over 15 minutes. There is also some sugar free protein pudding sold at Vitamin Shoppes that is pretty decent and I like the Isopure Liquid Protein, though it can be a little sweet.

I had a rough time with the surgery, mainly due to nurses and not to the procedure. I recommend you try and heal as quickly as you can in the hospital to get home where things will go much better for you. Oh, and be sure, you've all your meds at home before you go. My doc did change a prescription I me while I was in the hospital and I had to stop on huge way home to get another, which was definitely not fun.

I am still recovering, but so far once I got home, I felt a lot better.

One last thing, when you do stock up, be sure that you get enough to last you like two weeks. It will help if you have everything at home during the first phase until you go on pureed foods. Best of luck to you on the 14th!
