1. Hello everyone ... My surgery is August 27... I started my two shakes a day and of course after always eating a hearty Breakfast and lunch ... This is a little bit of a shock to the body ... The main thing is I feel so tired and no energy ... It seems illogical to go into surgery so tired but who am I ... Certainly not a doctor. Is this normal . Just tell me so I can stop worrying....

  2.
Hi everyone,

I am having the sleeve done on 8/27...finally!!! I just started my 2-week liquid diet. I am following it to a T. I thought after day one when I woke up this morning, my glucose would be lower. It was 170, and I usually run about 115. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Has anyone had issues with an inital spike? I briefly read somewhere about liver and glucose, blah blah, but I don't think it was reliable.

Thanks for your help!

we are getting sleeved on the same day... Where do you live?

  3. I think when you spend so much time figuring out this is the route you want to go you can't help becoming a little obsessed . I started this journey 2 years ago for lap band and chickened out. This past May I went to another seminar with new doctors ... Two amazing woman in practice together in Florida . I decided on the sleeve and have never looked back. My surgery is fast approaching and I can't think about anything else . My friend and I are conversing about what to take to the hospital ... Almost like we are taking a vacation ... So wish me luck in August 27... I have to say I am nervous about a few things ... I hate being nausea so I am hoping I don't have that... And pain...I don't want the pain meds to make me have nausea . Thanks for listening to me.

  4. Please tell me what you think. I have surgery in two weeks and I have been reading about a bariatric pillow that will be helpful. Any feedback would be great . Also any tips on what to take to the hospital . Even in my big notebook ... Nothing about what to pack except socks. Don't want to get the pillow if it's not something I need! Thanks again for all the support. ????

  5. I am being sleeved on August 27... I asked my surgeon and of course it is different for everyone . I am a teacher... Going to get everything set up and ready to go... I pull kids out if class as II am a reading specialist. I go in on a Wednesday and hoping to go back the following Wednesday . I will see how I am doing . That is my plan .

  6.
I have an anxiety disorder. I have had a gastric bypass though, but I doubt there is any difference in anxiety levels after either surgery. I take 2 valium a day for my anxiety. I haven't had an anxiety attack or anything like that since surgery. Taking my first bite of food was a little nerve racking but that was it.
[/quote

I was just wondering if I could still take my Lorazapan if I need it...

  7. I Have had anxiety my entire adult life. Some days I have nothing... Other days are bad. I use Lorazapan as needed. Here is my question ... To anyone who has already been sleeved and has anxiety can I expect it to be worse post op.... In other words even though everything I have read and I know exactly what to expect I am concerned that my anxiety will sky rocket. I just want to be prepared. I was told by my surgeon if need be I can take my Lorazapan...but that scares me too!!! Lol any feedback would be wonderful.

  8. I'm hoping to do it in a week... Just because it is the beginning of the school year... I was hoping to do it during the summer but by the time I started in May ... Everything took time... If I listen to my body and I am not ready to go back then I won't . Just wanted some idea from others. Thanks to all of you who took the time to answer me . After reading all these posts I feel closer to everyone but still quite nervous . I start pre- op Protein tomorrow morning.

  9. Help! I'm posting but I must be doing something wrong because they are not showing up... I am have sleeve surgery on august 27. My name is Alyce... I'm scared to death and excited. I have not seen too much on going back to work. I am planning on going back after a week ... I know it's different for everyone but could I get done feedback about when people when back to work.

I went back to work exactly one week after my surgery.I feel like I bounced back really well with no problems problems but I do have a desk job. There was one day in which my energy was low, but I think that was due to low Iron. I work 630am-3pm, so I was good while at work, but then just went home and laid low.

Thank you so much for telling me your story
